Are these other reviews jokes or getting paid? This game is a boring, walking around pushing buttons and turning levers then occasionally encountering a poorly rendered Alien that has severely impaired vision. Strip away the pretty graphics and this game is just pushing a series of buttons to outfox laughably bad AI. The alien isn't scary or immersive or anything good.

I picked up a copy of this for a dollar and want my money back! Many features are tied to EA servers that are no longer accessible (F U EA) so what you are left with is a game with fewer features than early PS2 NCAA football games. What still does work is a game where everything feels predetermined. The higher ranked team is given a landslide advantage, coach's challenges have never worked for anyone (even when replay shows without a doubt it was the wrong call), and recruiting is just a lot of unenjoyable busy work that does not seem to respond at all to how your season is going. EA has fooled people and/or bribed reviewers and/or broken them by being the only game in town- shameful.

When I first played this game I was like "wow, this looks really good". Really good to the point that I had to pause to make sure I was holding a Wiimote. I was. Then I kept playing and was just blown away by the lighting and snow effects. I paused again to make sure my Wiimote had not interfaced with an 360 or PS3 or PC in order to trick me into thinking Wii games could look like this. It had not. Finally I had to stop the game a third time. This time because I was afraid. Very afraid.

This is a tacky review, sorry. THE GOOD: The aesthetics of this game are amazing. If you like looking at pretty pictures and running around a finely crafted world listening to good voice acting telling a better than average story then you are in luck. THE BAD: GW2 plays like a bunch of people who really liked playing pvp as dps classes on WoW got together and made a game. The laundry list of boons/conditions that all last half a milisecond quickly becomes meaningless spam that does not lend itself well to a game you play for hours on end (pve that is, it is great for pvp). Though overall most things about the gameplay are frantic and after a short time get filtered out. Along the same lines the constant battles when you travel anywhere get tiresome. Sorry, I liked being able to run freely through newb zones in other games without constant harassment. Hey devs, if you wanted people to play together why did you put in 80 levels? Because WoW has 80 levels? Exactly. The leveling down is a cool feature, but is forced on you like so much else in GW2. Speaking of which, not being able to assign your own weapon ability hotkeys! This throwback to when games **** for technical limitations is inexcusable in 2012/3. THE UGLY: Abandoning the mmo trinity makes for a chaotic cluster#### in groups. Dungeons feel like 5 individuals who happen to be doing the same thing instead **** working together. Along those same lines the zone/group chat on GW2 is the quietest and lamest of any mmo I have played, though maybe that was just my server. Lastly, butter. This vendor will sell me milk, cheese, sour cream, and BUTTERmilk, but if I want butter I have to go kill monsters? The asari can build portals all around the world but haven't figured out butter? Why is a cave dwelling monster man able to make butter (into perfect bars that they carry in cloth bags) but nobody at the huge crafts/artisan market in the sprawling city can? What crap. VERDICT: A very pretty package for a game that makes huge advances for MMOs while still managing to be a WoW clone that utterly fails at finding good solutions to MMO problems. Maybe worth a playthrough for the story in a purely solo run, but overall a bad online game.

Second, complaints that the controls to fire a missile into the face **** monster trying to kill you takes preparation, quick reflexes, and accuracy. People who lack the ability to do those things call the controls bad instead of immersive. Third, haters tend to focus on the story and completely ignore the crisp graphics, heart pumping audio, and tight game play... which for a video game is kind of dumb (nobody is making you watch the cut scenes). Fourth, "they changed metroid!!!" coming out of the mouth of Prime fanboys who fail to realize that Prime was a massive change to metroid for us old fart Super Metroid fanboys.

Inferior to **** Dimensions in every way. GRAPHICS: noticeably worse than **** Dimensions, but still good for a Wii game 6/10. ADVENTURE: The story is good comic book fare. Unfortunately combat feels like grinding (how many times do I have to knock you down?!), the health bar is completely unbalanced lasting forever in some areas then disappearing in 3 hits in the next (no natural regen like SD either), many of the achievements require you knowing what to do before hand (instead of skill), and several opponents are cheeeeeeeaaap (seconds of invincible frames, master marksmen, you name it) 2/10. MECHANICS: Again, a huge step backwards from SD. Wall crawling controls seem random at best, the 2099 falling scenes went from awesome to awful, auto targeting wants you to die, collecting the energy balls is Lame, motion controls vary from hyper sensitive to non-responsive, quick time events also vary from all day to you lose before the motion is even on the screen 1/10. EXTRAS: Did I mention that collecting energy balls is stupid? How about the stripped down upgrades system being weak? The part where you have to know exactly what to do to finish some of the timed sections without retrying again? How about how this game is terrible compared to the last one? That the bosses are few and far between and seem to favor dumb luck over skill or strategies? 1/10!

FAST - Racing League

User ScoreFolstar
Aug 6, 2011
This is a good racing game with a few noteworthy failings: 1. Racing does not look or feel very fast, slower than the original F-Zero. While the game does not create the illusion of high speed it does require lightning reflexes or some track memorization because of blind turns, hills, and the white/black strips. 2. Vehicles are poorly balanced. Switching vehicles I went from dead last in every race to 1st/2nd in every race. My friend made the same choice (thinking acceleration would be good for learning) and had the same experience. 3. The collect orbs system is a nuisance that dominates gameplay and removes the risk/reward of F-Zero boosts. CONCLUSION: Fast is a decent game in its own right, but if you look at it as the next F-Zero it is a terrible, terrible step in all the wrong directions.

The more I play and think about this game the less I like it. This game takes more steps backwards than forward for the series while losing the heart and soul that 2017 had. From 2017 you sacrifice varied environments, collecting, awesome bosses, epic battles, LOTS of levels, and more bugs (double entrentre- zing) for better graphics, better controls, "classes", revives, and online mode which seems silly as the winning formula of buddy/s+beer+edf does not require internet. The new controls, "classes", and revives are welcome, but the spiffy new graphics come at far to high of a cost. I would gladly have traded the crysis-esq way buildings collapse for some cave levels or the fluidity of my character's movement for a few more baddies on the screen or even the carefully crafted detail of my weapon for a level that isn't a series of checkpoints. Ultimately this game probably has more mass appeal for being as halo as it is 2017, but will never be as beloved by anyone as its predecessor.

Mixed" Critic REVIEWS of this game are laughably bad. Any difficulty spike can be skipped or appreciated as a challenge! ACTION: diversity of track types, modes, vehicles, and the Excitebikeriffic track editor mean this game will continue to entertain for a long time. CONTROLS: Dpad and Wii Wheel both work well. Sometimes the controls feel a little tight but with ever increasing difficulty of tacks this becomes a welcome problem. EXCITEBIKERIFFIC: Ignoring for a moment the Wiiware remake, playing Trackmania reminds me of the original NES Excitebike more than any other game I can think of. Quick and deceptively simple tracks along with the editor are nostalgia gold. The music is almost as catchy too

A solid addition to one of the best series in gaming. My only serious qualm with this game is that certain motions with the Wiimote do not register well (thrusting specifically) during kills. Adjusting the sensitivity up and exaggerating your Wiimote motions helps, but even then a perfect kill gets ruined sometimes. The first fault matters if you feel cheated on an hours of entertainment:cost ratio, which is kind of silly given how many hours online mode keeps you playing. Clunky gameplay, darkness instead of graphics, overuse of cover system to the point of boredom, very short game (for what was a top dollar release), cliche everything, and nothing new enough to balance just how tired and clearly "borrowed" so much of this game was- all with a sheen of gore and machismo so over the top it is almost laughable. They were fun (Wiiiii) and intuitive. 9/10 EXTRAS: Did I mention how awesome everything about this game is? Desperate Struggle embraced and ridiculed everything that is gamer/anime/dork culture. I could spend the next 4213 characters explaining how lights out fantastic this game is, but then you would be wasting time not playing it which would be a horrible loss. 11/10

I would only recommend this game to people who like having fun. GRAPHICS: It looks like a Wii game. Either you like the cartoony look or you seethe with anger that your character doesn't have 60,000 strands of hair moving seamlessly or whatever. Personally I side with the former. 7/10 ADVENTURE: Not much to talk about here. Learning and mastering each game is fun. Playing with friends is funner. Forcing your smug friend who is too good to wear wrist weights is funnest. 7/10 MECHANICS: Great! Resort really shows what Motion Plus can do. 10/10 EXTRAS: This game really delivers on the promise of what Wii is supposed to be. Not as revolutionary as the original Wii Sports, but a worthy sequel that improves on just about every aspect of the game. 9/10

GRAPHICS- The different looks for each Spider-Man were enjoyable (especially Noir). Overall crisp and clean graphics. 8/10 ADVENTURE- The different play styles keep everything feeling fresh and fun (especially Noir). Minus a few hickups the flow of the action was good, if slightly repetitive, and the story was pure comic book awesome. 9/10 MECHANICS- Surprisingly good for the most part. There were a few minor problems with motion controls and the camera was a bit crazy at times. The detriment of some sloppy controls was nearly balanced by the nerd joy of waving your hand to shoot webbing. 7/10 EXTRAS- It was ambitious to have, essentially, four games in one and worked very well but the game felt too short. The voice acting was top notch, though a bit repetitive (I'm looking at you Ultimate Spider-Man). 8/10 For normal, well adjusted, members of society this game is worth renting just to experience the different styles (especially Noir) and it is a comic geek must own title. This game was very nearly a masterpiece of comic book hero greatness but needed less repetition and a bit more polish. 8/10.
