The perfect amalgamation of it's cousins, employing the best bits from both and coming up trumps.

A balanced blend of "Super Mario Kart" and "Mario Kart 64." [Feb 2003, p.97]

Comes as close to game playing perfection as possible. It's fantastic amalgamation of intense single player action and exciting 4 player entertainment shouldn't be missed by anyone with a GBA.

This one is really weird playing multiplayer is a nightmare because of the game boy cord it plays nothing like any of the rest of the Mario games and it's really just an oddball

The grading system in the Grand Prix is so strict that you can only get 3 stars if you're a cheater or using a TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun).

Considering this game was made on this hardware, its pretty good, a lot better than Super Mario Kart (The first Mario Kart) which is the other 2D Mario Kart. The problem is this was the 3rd Mario Kart, and comparing to 64 and the others, this one has to go as a weaker title. And its not necissarily because of the tracks and music, but driving mechanics aren't as good as the previous release (Mario Kart 64).
As a game as a whole considering the hardware, it still is enjoyable though.

As good as it gets. We sincerely doubt whether another driving game - of any kind - will beat this for some time. Go buy it. [Winter 2001, p.38]

One of the most ingenious games ever to come from the Nintendo stable.

All in all, Mario Kart Super Circuit takes the crown from "Advance GTA" as the top portable racing title, and has finally topped the SNES version in regards to overall fun factor.

This game is like Super Mario Kart but just a tiny bit better. This game thought that 2d Mario Kart games would still be good when they're so overrated. Critics also for some reason think that this game is better than FREAKING MARIO SUNSHINE. WHY? Art style is great though.
