Its recipe is a simple one — take rock-solid FPS and survival fundamentals, and flesh them with high-level, imaginatively distinct, and powerful horror. It’s not a subtle experience, but met on its own terms, warts, Wranglers and all, it hits like a sledgehammer in the best possible way. Brace yourself.

Total Chaos is disgusting, bloody, and taxing, but it’s also sympathetic and cathartic. And despite its misgivings and missteps, it is fun, twisting together horrific perversions with tension-filled gameplay in the way every great survival horror game should. Poor voice acting and repetitive gameplay/monster design dampen what makes Total Chaos great. However, its inventive crafting-focused combat and stirring story cement Trigger Happy Interactive’s sophomore release as one that will surely haunt my thoughts long after this playthrough.

Fort Oasis is a decaying nightmare where reality crumbles and waiting only for you. Come and be pleasantly scared and fight for survival.

This game reminded me a lot of Silent Hill and Silent Hills, but with its own unique twist. I was really into the eerie story and the maze-like level design of Fort Oasis.
The monsters can be quite stressful and they're mostly well designed, but some of them are kinda funny to look at.
The combat mechanics are straightforward but effective, and you can make good use of the surroundings.
I found inventory management to be the toughest part, it can be quite overwhelming at first. It seems like I was just hoarding more than I needed, the game actually gives you a lot of stuff when you need it! Total Chaos is top-notch, it's a really good survival horror game that's been put together with a lot of love and skill.

Jogo maravilhoso. Joguei umas 35h. Muito medo do início ao fim, só não dou um 10 porque o final bom foi meio decepcionante. Poderia ter um algo a mais neste final. Final ruim foi perfeito.

**Total Chaos** is a horror game with an excellent atmosphere, and its sound design and music really amplify the fear factor. However, its flaws make it hard to keep playing. One of the worst aspects is the inventory system—it’s very difficult to manage resources and control with a gamepad, and it’s not designed to be user-friendly at all. The game doesn’t offer a deep or complex story; it focuses more on scaring you than telling a meaningful narrative. The gameplay is playable, but certain moments can be frustrating and make the experience tiring.

Total Chaos’ remake can be orthodox to a fault, but it’s a polished evolution of a fascinating blend of survival horror and shooter that never lets off the gas.

For me personally, this game is not only a good gameplay with an interesting story, but also a life-affirming project that I will miss. The graphics are nice, and a lot of things are hand-crafted rather than AI-generated. The same goes for the hand-crafted lighting, which deserves **** gameplay and management are well-designed, making you think about your actions rather than just brute-forcing. The combat system offers a variety of approaches. From parrying and dodging, to throwing bottles and weapons to stun the enemy. Also, dodging the enemy will stun them, giving you more room to maneuver. Enemies help with variety, as each one has its own unique characteristics. For example, electric monsters can be easily defeated by throwing vodka, as it will ignite and completely burn the monster. Similarly, surrounding lights have the same effect on other enemies when alcohol is **** plot has become more readable compared to the GZDoom mod, but it hasn't lost its naturalism. I can believe in the story and and in all the consequences that arise in the game.
Although we rarely use firearms, this is what gives them their significance. Every shot becomes enjoyable, as it is much easier than close combat. The music is oppressive, as it should be. The rare moments of rest feel truly necessary and calming. Akira Yamaoka's composition titled "Catharsis" will remain in the music album forever. This is not an AAA project. But for the amount of money that was invested in it and the quality that we received, I can confidently say that it has a soul. And that's what I appreciate the most.

Fantastic little horror game. It was made by a single person and its quality shows through its horror atmosphere and gameplay!

Total Chaos is a game of extremes for me. I really like its combat and survival elements, but the action of melee and gunplay against the lesser enemies is less enjoyable than I would have hoped. There is also some noticeable jankiness that pulls away from its best elements. However, I was almost always enamored with Total Chaos’ set pieces, environment, and sound. The bigger scares in this game and the build-ups to them are great. It’s not often we see such a thematic change between games like the move from Turbo Overkill to Total Chaos, but I think Trigger Happy Interactive has built something quite fun with this game. It might not always be consistent, but when Total Chaos hits, it hits like a sledgehammer crushing a twisted figment of our warping sanity.

Total Chaos is a commendable survival horror experience, praised for its excellent balance of action and resource management, effective sound design, and successful visual revamp as a Doom II mod. However, it falters with imprecise melee combat, occasionally confusing and repetitive level design, and an identity crisis between horror and action, ultimately being too faithful to its mod origins to fully evolve.

Going through Fort Oasis' ruins feels like revisiting a lost 2000's horror game in the best (and sometimes worst) ways. Well-designed maps with clever secrets are offset by a few unbalanced fights. Total Chaos feels overall like a good nostalgic experience, leaving a positive mark in DOOM's extended family tree.

Awesome. We should support modders who make their own projects like this. Especially when they're this high quality.

jeu sympa. graphisme ok. Excellente fluidité, mais animations des ennemis moyennes.. et gestion des touches compliquées..

High scores saying things like "2025's greatest survival horror!!!" have to be paid reviews, devs, friends of devs, etc. Because this game is a complete slog. All of the comments from the low score are very accurate. I suggest reading the bad reviews because those are the ones that are telling the truth. Boring, repetitive, terrible combat, no map, breakable weapons, not even slightly scary, etc. etc.

The game's atmosphere isn't bad, but the lack of a map can be quite tedious. Constantly having to figure out where to go can be tedious. The game moves at a constant pace, lacking any surprises. The animations are strange. The fights are lackluster. Overall, I didn't like the game; it could have been much better.
Summary Fort Oasis is no paradise—it's a decaying nightmare where reality crumbles. The creator of Turbo Overkill unleashes survival-horror stacked with mysteries and monstrosities. Scavenge to craft weapons, while a voice on your walkie-talkie guides you into the island's depths.
