The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is, in my opinion, one of the greatest games ever made. What makes it special is not just its main story, but the incredible consistency of its quality from beginning to end. The story is excellent, with memorable characters, meaningful choices, and emotional moments that stay with you long after the credits roll. Geralt's journey is one of the best narratives I have experienced in gaming. I also think the gameplay is underrated. While many people focus on the story, I found the combat, character progression, and preparation for monster hunts very enjoyable and immersive. The biggest strength of The Witcher 3, however, is its side quests. They are not simple filler content. Many of them are as well-written, emotional, and engaging as the main story itself. That does not mean the main story is weak—the main story is fantastic. The side quests are simply so good that they reach the same level of **** world feels alive, the soundtrack is incredible, and the two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, are masterpieces. Few games offer so much content while maintaining such a high level of quality throughout. For me, The Witcher 3 is the gold standard for open-world RPGs and one of the closest things to a perfect game. 10/10.

Was expecting a lot from this game, starting off was strong I was soo immersed into the game. However 13 hours now into the game the mechanics feel janky, just spamming light attacks and dodging no real challenge in the game and just doing quest after quest to find ciri is getting a little long.

"Quantity Over Quality" the video game. Geralt's voice makes me want to mute the game, so I guess that doesn't help. Eh, maybe I'll give it another try.

Simply **** story is incredible. Some people might complain about the gameplay, wanting more Souls-like combat, but I like it, it suits the ****'s simply a work of art, I'm still playing it 10 years later and it's absurdly **** to mention that the DLCs are absurdly good expansions too.

One of the best games ever made. A game that portrays the brutality of war in a world with witchers, sorceresses, monsters, and more, all while navigating a world of political intrigue. Both the main and side quests are captivating; many have a dark undertone, and even the side quests feel like main quests due to their excellent craftsmanship and storytelling.

One of the best games ever made. Story 10/10 with well written characters and emotional impact. Every part of the word was well designed and makes you feel the beauty or cruelty of that area, from the dark Velen, to Novigrad to Skellige iles to Toussaint in the Blood and wine expansion, Both Expansions were so good, Hearts of stones being the better story and Blood and Wine bringing the best content, and as a gwent lover that sometimes the main game "gwent" completely made me forget about playing the side game "finding Ciri", the new deck of Skellige and its soundtrack... CDPR nailed it with one if the greatest RPGs.

I finally played Witcher 3. After being a gamer since my childhood and hearing about this game for as long, I finally did it. It took me a long time too, I started playing and then stopped for more than 1 years because of things but I finally finished it. It's hard to describe it. Throughout my playing, everything I heard about the game constantly played in my head, in the end my feelings were similar to some but also different than many. I think this game has an amazing story with a great world and incredible music supporting it's story. It was great experiencing it. The world the game is set in seriously grew on me so much while playing, I really love it. It's Europe but different. The stories you hear from different people, things you see throughout this game, there is so much history behind everything. I really want to go into the games before just to experience more of the world and learn about the history, maybe even read the books. The musics I heard before and I was really liking them before I even played the game but playing gave them more meaning and I love the soundtrack even more now. As a role playing game, I have different thoughts, I heard this game being compared to Skyrim so many times and they are very different games in many regards but for role playing, I can better see why I liked Skyrim so much after playing Witcher 3. In Skyrim, you are a blank slate and you can actually be whoever you want, here you are Geralt, you can kinda choose what kind of Geralt you are going to be but I think with how much personality Geralt has, there is a limit and not too much to play with. You can affect the world in Witcher 3 is something I've heard a lot and yes you can, and you can see the effects much more clearly but this still feels like experiencing a very curated story. Whereas in Skyrim you can play much of it in your head and it gives you the space to do so which is an excellent trait for a role playing game. Another thing to compare to Skryim is how Skyrim (And Starfield as another Bethesda RPG) had these questlines that'd go on for hours and they were just excellent, you don't have these in Withcer I think. Not as long and as life-changing. I'm talking about the guild mission series mostly, but there were some others with this attributes in Skyrim and they're what made the game so special to me. The quest series in Witcher are mostly 1 - 2 hours whereas in Skyrim they are 4 - 5 hours and they really affect your character. But putting aside the Skyrim comparison, Witcher 3 is a fantastic game. A thing that it fails is the combat, it is just bland, I don't dislike it but there is not too much going on and it gets repetitive and boring even though I didn't have too many problems with it. I did put the game in easy mode to fight some enemies because the combat didn't give me any pleasure. I didn't deal with the alchemy and crafting stuff at all either, because I have 0 interest in them but props to the game for not making me interact with them. One issue I had is missing some missions without realising I'd be missin them after starting another quest. This is the reason I couldn't be with Yennefer in the end, I was bummed. I had this happen to me a few other times but I guess I can't blame the game for this. Horse riding was a pain some times, it wasn't too smooth but it still feels really nice going through the world on a horse. The option to ride a boat was fun too imo. For the finale, when playing the Battle of Kaer Morhen I thought the game was gonna end after that but it went on for another 7 - 8 hours. I'm not saying it should have ended there but the finale it ended up having was not as much of a climax to me. And the final boss fight was nowhere as exciting as the Kaer Morhen battle. Setting everything aside, I'm really glad to now have experienced this world and I'm excited to someday play the DLCs too. (8.9)

It's got compelling quests, story and characters, all with excellent presentation, but the gameplay loop and the open world are acutely boring. Exploration feels cumbersome while fighting is generally same throughout, hardly changing with the progression of levels or story. I understand why it's a beloved game by many, but it's hard to call it masterpiece. Perhaps, it would've worked better as a tighter world, a set of smaller locations, and focused experiences.

I attempted to play this expecting the next best game, the truth is there is way too much storytelling going on and most of the gameplay is static frames of charters talking to each other. Its boring world, topics and the gameplay is simple.

The Witcher 3 is, quite simply, one of the best games ever made. Even nearly a decade after its original release, it hasn’t lost an ounce of its impact, and in many ways, it still outclasses modern titles. What truly sets this game apart is its storytelling. The narrative is rich, mature, and consistently engaging, pulling you into a world where every choice feels meaningful. The depth of the characters is exceptional, Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, and even minor side characters all feel fully realized, with their own motivations and emotional weight. It’s rare for a game to make even side quests feel as important and memorable as the main story, but The Witcher 3 does this effortlessly. The voice acting is another standout. Performances across the board are top-tier, bringing authenticity and personality to every interaction. It adds a layer of immersion that keeps you invested for many hours (100+ for me personally). Visually, the next gen update proves just how ahead of its time this game was. With enhanced graphics, improved lighting, and smoother performance, it holds up remarkably well in the current generation. It doesn’t just feel like a remaster, it feels timeless. The only place the game shows its age a bit is the gameplay, allthough perfectly satisfactory with the dlc’s bringing a small layer of depth it does feel the game’s weakest point. Keeping in mind that the game was released more than ten years ago that hardly fells like valid criticism. From its world-building to its gameplay depth, The Witcher 3 remains constantly engaging. Few games manage to combine scale, detail, and emotional storytelling this well. Even ten years later, nothing has changed, this is still one of the greatest games ever made.

For me personally, it's the most overhyped game ever. Maybe it was objectively a 9/10 or 10/10 in 2015, but certainly not today. I think the combat is one of the worst I've ever seen in a game. It's clunky and repetitive as hell. That good, nice feedback when you hit something like you get in Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei, God of War, etc. just isn't there. Slicing through enemies feels the same as slicing through air. You get nice buffs and everything while using potions and oils, but the bad combat remains the same. 10% more or less damage doesn't make a difference here for me. The game still doesn't look that bad after 11 years, but 90% of the world is made up of the same rural medieval landscapes and villages, so the beautiful views get boring and repetitive very fast. There are also a lot of annoying things that add up. The horse, for example (I know I'm spoiled af): You call him, he's somewhere behind you, you have to stop and turn around, and maybe he's even stuck. You call him again, and if you get on him, it takes a few seconds to get up to speed, and as soon as a little obstacle or a ledge is in your way good luck, you're stuck again. Traversal and fast travel are really painful. There are a ton of those little things that really drive me crazy. I was also disappointed by the quests and characters. While a few important protagonists like Geralt, Ciri, and Keira were cool, most of the others are so forgettable. The main quest was good, but not good enough to overshadow the abysmal combat. I don't know if I did the wrong side quests, but most of them were really boring and it felt like a waste of time. I expected the best storytelling in gaming but was disappointed again. It's like an Ubisoft game, just with better side activities and enemy variety. I think this game can still find an audience if someone really loves medieval settings, a lot of quests, and open worlds while combat is one of their last priorities. I know I have only played a bit more than 10 hours and 20% of the main story but sadly, it's a no in 2026 for me.

I have to start this review saying that i have more than 500 hours of gameplay, in both Playstation 4 and 5 versions, which is a lot for someone that doesn't have that much time to play. Also have platinum trophy in both console versions. Until today, in my opinion, this game is the best open world RPG ever made, and i'm still looking foward to have a equal experience in other games. Geralt is a fantastic character, the continent is rich and alive, the exploration is very rewarding and challenging. In my first playthrough i thought about the game all day long. Even in 2026 it still looks amazing and the gameplay still fun. Playing this game in "Death March!" difficulty is the ultimate open world RPG expirience.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt delivers one of the strongest storytelling experiences in gaming. Its morally complex choices, memorable characters, and richly detailed open world come together seamlessly. Even side quests feel meaningful—often better written than main stories in other games. The combat is solid, but the real strength lies in the atmosphere, writing, and world-building.
