Tearaway Unfolded, like its mobile forebear, is an enchanting adventure. A bedrock of strong platforming mechanics supports a world that recalls The Wizard of Oz’s wide-eyed whimsy. Children will absolutely adore it, but even grown-up gamers with a taste for handcrafted, homespun style should follow the fold.
Serious gamers after a good mixture of challenge, story and mechanics may be left wanting. [Issue#167, p.79]
Sony made a great decision in bringing this charming IP to PS4. Just like the Vita version, Unfolded has the same great feel of utilizing the hardware in an interesting and fun way.

This was the first game I played on PS4, and my impressions of this platformer are rather mixed. On the one hand, it's a PS4 exclusive, but on the other, it's the same game that was released in 2013 on PlayStation Vita. Simply put, it's a remake **** that was released two years (!) earlier. I have no idea why they did this, except perhaps because the Vita was briefly abandoned, and to fill up the PS4's already meager library at the time, but oh well. This platformer is incredibly boring. Frankly, if the goal was to make a game "for kids," then kids simply wouldn't be interested in playing this. The story itself is boring, and the adventure is disjointed and vague. They pretend the player creates the adventure, but that's not true. We influence small details that don't reflect what's happening in the game itself; it's an illusion of richness. The graphics are certainly stylistically cool, but the soundtrack is disgusting and tasteless (in my opinion). The gameplay is very lazy and simple – no punishment for death, the level design is tailored to the Dual Shock 4 gamepad, but it's only fun for the first five minutes; after that, it just gets annoying, making you wish for proper controls. And the enemy combat – it was initially decent, but then the difficulty curve plummeted – no bosses, and the remaining 25% of the game is played without any combat at all, essentially a standard walking simulator. Actually, I would have given it an even lower rating for the crafting and appliqués required, which were enough for me in elementary school. It's genuinely interesting to interact with the gamepad's unique features, but alas, the idea never really took off. A passable game for a one-time playthrough.

I avoided this game because I thought it was just a HD port of Tearaway for ps vita, but what a surprise! this is prettu much a new game, like 70% of the content is new., new levels, new mechanics, more lore, the new gimmicks like using the six axis to light the scenarios are not as fun as using the Vita rear touch pad, mechanics are better and more innovative on vita, but this more tearaway, almost like a sequel, so more tearaway is great, since we are never getting a sequel.

The best Vita game just became one of the best PS4 games. Utterly essential, buy this, so it can finally get the love it so richly deserves.

Tearaway truly comes into its own on PlayStation 4. It's still an amazing adventure that - in this edition - uses the abilities of the Dualshock 4 in very interesting ways.

Tearaway Unfolded is a wonderful and fun expansion of the original. It keeps the original's essence, and the new additions are clever and are just as good, or maybe even better than the original's levels. The challenges are frustatingly fun, too. I really like the creative segments, where you draw and put stickers on characters, and how these actually affect the world around you. The ending nearly made me cry, sure maybe I'm just too sensitive. Still, it's an experience worth your time.

It's a piece of software art and probably filled with more love than grandma's apple pie. A must have.

One of the best games on PS Vita transformed into a game that takes a great profit from Dual Shock 4 and adds some new areas and features. Iota has no rival as a postman.

Tearaway Unfolded still holds all the magic of the original, and if you missed it on Vita, this is really a good chance to enjoy it.

Charming stuff once again from Media Molecule, but the PS4 version can't rekindle its handheld magic. [Nov 2015, p.70]

Though Tearaway Unfolded does wonders with paper, it sometimes leaves you feeling flat.

El juego es hermoso, para grandes y chicos, me ha encantado. No sólo lo he jugado yo, también mi familia, es un de mis juegos favoritos que una historia bella y una trama que construyes a base de implementar tus ideas e imaginación en un videojuego, y papel

This Game for a new commer will probably be an 8-9 but for others no Tearaway was meant to be a vita Game and that its why it was design the way it was. When you make a ps4 game about its obviously not gonna be as good as the Og. Do not get me wrong the game is still enjoyable and fan to play BUT in comparison to the OG it faiis. Most of the game is the same as the Vita BUT lands have been expanded and more game mechanics were added. Some of them i liked such as making a craft plane and maneuver around,, some of them not so much so . Its a great effort to mimic every VITA mechanic to a ps4 Controller. Respect on the effort, Things i disliked on the ps4 version that ruined my experience: 1: Camera usage. Plenty of times camera gets confusing because of it being placed the way it was and because every time you move your controller form its position it changes focus 2: Wind and touch: You use the touch pad to create strong winds but when you need to use the touch pad to make the drum jumps, the wind might make platforming bad 3: Loss Of iotas weapon in order to use the breaking of the 4rth wall mechanic, yes its good but gets repetitive. 4: Some levels Don't have the same charm as vitas, such as the sky paper world The game passed its prime when it was very expensive, now its worth every pound out of its 15. i would highly recommend it.

The game has a nice idea, but it easily becomes frustrating when you have to move around your controller and it's just not precise enough to be more fun than frustrating.

Sold after 5hrs. Such a horrendous and overrated game. The game is extremely tedious and the controls and the camera are horrendous. Not recommended at all unless you want a boring game
