There were interesting ideas-and a very pretty opening video-but everything about Solatorobo felt…flat.

Solatorobo is a title full of great ideas, which were wasted with shoddy execution. Nevertheless, those interested in games with great stories should check it out.

A great swan song for the DS. Its production values are stellar, the game plays very well, and is chock-full of some sweet content. Plus, it's literally as close to MegaMan Legends 3 that any 3DS owners are likely to get in terms of play, style, and overall feeling.

This game reminds me a lot of Megaman Legends. It is way better than the prequel series, but not as good as Legends. It is still worth playing once. Be nice if it got a true triple A sequel. Maybe with more races as supposed to only furries. Also, the music was a banger in this game.

Probably the best original game made by CC, a sequel to Tail concerto, but expands the lore of this universe, the overall plot is very similar to megaman legends, very interesing for a furry game, regarding the gameplay department: it is very simple, your robot can lift and throw stuff , including enemies, it lacks depth, but is fun, there is also platforming and levels where your robot can fly.
Graphics are great for a nds, it mixeds cell-shading 3d modeles with sprites and pre-rendered backgrounds, it gives the world some studio ghibil vibres. overall a good game with great graphics, interesting story dragged down by repetitive combat.

This is by the far one of the greatest games ever made under the limitations of the Nintendo DS. It pains me to see this not listed as even a top 50 DS game, and it pains me even more to see Tetris DS be a more favoured game! The developers truly worked so hard to take advantage of the hardware, making this game really stand out above the rest. Having released near the end of the Nintendo DS lifespan, it did not nearly gain as much love from DS gamers. However, this game is iconic for those who know it, not only does it take on its own unique style, but it also innovates on creating a replayable experience with many engaging quests the player can take that also feel very rewarding. As someone who has played countless hours of DS games, and older games as a whole, this game is 100% my first recommendation for anyone looking for a new game to play. The story was also brilliant, told through captivating cutscenes that make the world and story feel much more lively and personal. In other words, "real" game critics hold a massive bias when giving a review to games like these, this game is the peak of Nintendo DS gaming.

CyberConnect2 did a great job and hopefully Solatorobo will not be forgotten as its predecessor, because of the games of the last gasp of the DS, this one is certainly worth the investment.

Solatorobo is slow to get going, and neither the combat nor the puzzles are ever anything more than mildly challenging. But it's a true original, beautiful to look at, lovingly made, characterful and always ready to surprise you with some mad, bizarre new idea.

To celebrate its 15th birthday, CyberConnect2 went all-out in order to father a spiritual follow-up to its original game Tail Concerto, full of love and passion. Pretty, with a world that shares some common traits with the work of H. Miyazaki, and an accessible yet satisfying action gameplay and nice characters, it's a perfect game to offer to younger gamers... if you can't bear to play a talking dog yourself.

It may not offer much of a challenge, but Solatorobo: Red the Hunter has enough variety and quirky charm to stand out from other action RPGs.

Consistently surprising, technically accomplished and instantly likeable, this portable adventure has more good ideas than it seems to know what to do with.

An enjoyable hotchpotch of ingredients in this arcade-RPG hybrid with a fun storyline, funky graphics and added robot customisation for mech fans. Progression is a little easy but it's consistently entertaining.
