It’s not a bad game, the problem is that it’s too generic. No character, no identity, nothing to make us remember it by, after reaching the end credits. [November 2012]
Secret Files 3 looks and plays as if even its creators did not give a damn about the final product.

What would you do when your wife to be is kidnapped and the kidnappers let you know that she is a terrorist? Exactly, you are going on an expedition! And that's exactly what Secret Files 3 is all about. You will be visiting some of Europe's great capitals like Berlin, Italy, Turkey and other places to reunite with the woman of your dreams in this wonderful puzzle game.

Definetly the weakest of the Secret Files saga, the third chapter is a big mix of out of ordinary gameplay and exagerated ideas for it's Story. You jump from a stealth sidequest in ancient egypt, to dream worlds where to swing out of burning churches, to futuristic labs preventing a mad scientist from conquering the world. I would have loved a more feet to the ground Secret Files storywise and gameplay wise. I would save the CGI parts and world build, and definetly trash that ancient egypt dream part with salts and backtracking.

Bought the game off of Steam for a couple of euros and i'd say it was a mildly enjoyable 4-ish hours long experience. Definitely not as good as Secret Files Tunguska, but i do prefer it to Puritas Cordis. Pros: - Best voice acting out of the series - Alright puzzles and mini-games - Interesting and well made areas for example Florence. - Alright graphics - Good UI¨ - Good amount of challenge Cons: - Lacking story - Bad character writing - At times tedious gameplay All around still a solid 7/10 action adventure game.

A lazy output to this series of games. If you get this for less than $10, enjoy point-and-click games, and "may as well" do the 3rd game in this series, there's enough there for 5-6 hours of gameplay, not always fun gameplay, but gets there in the end. For everyone else (or if you paid more), beware of the major deficiencies in this game: 1) Story is ludicrously bad, and not funny bad, just bad. 2) game engine is old and dated for 2012, which would be OK if they used it nicely with interesting environments, but they don't, almost never. 3) Characters are bland, need a sidekick for better dialogue for the whole game. 4) Music is OK, background forgettable, but OK. 5) Dialogue audio is hugely inconsistent, speaking is all over the place in tonality in the same sentences. I would like to see point-and-click games continue, when done well they are good. This game is not helping the genre, confirming why it is dying out as a breed. Disappointing.

Animation Arts has again created a felicitous adventure in its well known adventure series Secret Files. Secret Files 3 (Geheimakte 3) brings great and diversified puzzles (for experts maybe to easy sometimes) and again mixes a fictitious story with real historical events. Even the mini games are fitting in and leave you the choice of two levels of difficulty. Orchestration, dramatic and cinematic presentation in Secret Files 3 are great and the game even provides several playable characters also as endings - depending on the decisions you make. Although the game lacks optimization of animations and the graphic presentation is getting kind of outdated due to the age of the engine, the game still looks pretty good. Overall it's quite a recommendation for all adventure gamers.

The Archimedes Code still has that unique atmosphere associated with the Secret Files series - there is a healthy, light way of dealing with the story, events and characters. I like that kind of approach to games. It's an embodiment of pleasant gameplay, a perfect way to relax. The developers have put some effort into innovations and variations in SF3, which can suggest, that it's the final installment in the series. It will be sad to let those characters go.

Secret Files 3 will suit the taste of every traditional point'n'click games lover, not just fans of the series. Two basic elements – a well told story and reasonably designed puzzles – are very well executed here. [12/2012, p.68]

It's sad to see a pretty promising premise stumble and fall on the implementation like Secret Files 3 does. There is some potential in the story especially if you're interested in historical events and conspiracies, but it feels like the game loses its focus and doesn't know where it wants to go.

A disappointing end to the trilogy. The story is often nonsensical and the puzzles tend to be to easy, while still having the kind of over-complicated solutions that wouldn't work in real life. It's mostly still fun to play, but it doesn't leave a lasting impression.

A huge disappointment. The story **** big time, characters are incredibly implausible, puzzles and mini-games are boring (except for the "statue-rocking" game, which was both boring and infuriatingly hard), graphics are not pretty and customizable main menu pointless.
