The game suffers from an excess of slowdown, doesn't move nearly as fast as the 32-bit version, and simply lacks any of the addictive qualities that made it so enjoyable on PlayStation.

We can only sigh when playing and seeing such massive amounts of slowdown, dark level design and poor control.

In this case, "RC" stands for "really crappy." Unless you truly enjoy subpar courses, low-grade weapons, ho-hum racing, and pre-Newtonian physics, you should probably avoid the lifeless RC Revenge Pro.

Before I start, I'd like to preface this by admitting I do have some bias with this game, it is and still is my favourite game to this day and I played it throughout my childhood. I think it has a fun varied catalogue of cars from Formula 1, a Jeep, a dump truck and one is even a throwback to the team's previous games Re-Volt, which you are more likely to have heard of than this game. I also really enjoy the tracks and their creativity, with this being a remaster it added more stages, 4 new ones to be exact with the pirate-themed tracks, and each theme consists of 4 tracks each;
Some tracks also have the ability to swap from cars to boats which I think is a neat edition and future games in other series would experiment with the idea, such as Sonic Racing Transformed. The powerups have your standard expected variety from an arcade power-up racer, however, I wish there were a few more or some were stronger for their use case. I will admit this game does have flaws, such as some cars' stats being misleading and some tracks are better suited to be a boat vs a car. Unfortunately, the publisher of this game went bankrupt (Acclaim) and sold the rights and those current right holders from what I have read have no interest in the series, likely thrown in as an incentive to buy, which is a shame for the fans of the series and with racing games not being as popular as they used to be especially arcade racers outside or Mario Kart and Sonic's Kart racer, it is unlikely another studio will take a stab at it. So, in summary, I do treasure this flawed game and wish it could get a spiritual successor or a remaster, however, that is unlikely to happen as stated above.

Easily one of the best PlayStation 2 games ever. Even today it still holds a candle to games such as mariokart. This game even did transitions from land to water before marioKart! While it may be outdated, the level designs, sheer variance of RC carts and boats leave this game entertaining just as much today as it was back then! In addition, power ups are unique to the idea of the cars actually being RC, and as such are often energy based. But this isn’t always the case, as some vehicles have secret functions only they can use! While my favorite levels are the boat racing levels, another feature you may not expect from such an old game is a decently customizable track editor! While there’s not much to decorate it with, the customizability of it was very fun for multiplayer at the time! Finally, a lot of levels had challenges or reverse mode, which was also fun when playing against other people. A very fun game with many cool levels based in worlds, such as a Hollywood monster world, pirates world, loonytoons world (acclaim studios), or sci-fi and horror worlds!
One of the few PS2 games I have and occasionally play to this day.

Like a mixture of "Mario Kart" and "Motor Toon GP," RC Revenge Pro's pint-sized racing terrors are armed to the teeth, delivering a totally lighthearted, fun and competitive racing experience.

It's certainly not the worst kart racer out there. But this isn't supposed to be a kart racer, this is supposed to be an RC racer -- it's there right in the title. And at that, the game fails pretty miserably.

As the lead speedrunner for this game. We are reviving it. It may have below par physics, but that is what makes it fun for us. The more challenging the better. Just wish the game had faster loads. The V1.2 - 2002 version of this game is a lot faster for the NTSC release. Really happy. If you want to join the RC Revenge speedrunning discord. Other than a few additional cars and tracks, the PS2 update is barely an improvement. In fact, thanks to a plethora of graphical problems, the flaws inherent to the game's overall presentation are much more apparent now.

All of the vehicles control terribly, the levels are uninspired and the game itself is just a port. Why bother?

The simple fact of the matter is that the Championship Mode, which by all standards should offer a wealth of challenges, is much too easy and predictable to keep even casual fans interested for very long.

This game is great fun. I feel it excels in so many areas to the point where I would play this over something like Mario Kart. I love the general feel of the game and how the maps and cars make a solid difference to the experience. Awesome fun back in the day! 8/10

It's like Mario Kart and I love Mario Kart (DS). Believe it or not this game is quite addictive. It's great that there's a game like Mario Kart in the PS2.

RC Revenge Pro was very fun with it's cooky levels, and quirky cars. However, I feel they missed out on some creative possibilities, especially in the level editor. For example, I think the level editor should've had a intersection piece, a tornado piece (because having a level full of tornados is what I call fun.) Heck, they could've had a water level editor. But hey, for just having the level editor, I am not going to complain. I think the physics should have been more like Re-volt's handling to make it a little bit more challenging. The A.I was okay, nothing special. The music was fun to listen to. I wouldn't say it's terrible. I also found the levels to be fun. It's slowdown make the game be a little bit boring, but most of the time, you're too busy to notice because of the turns, monsters, and basically because the track is a free-for-all. Oh yeah, the levels I thought were very detailed, and interactive, but it would be cool if some monsters game down and attacked your cars, or arrows were thrown at your cars at the temples, or floating books chased you during the level, you get what I mean. I think RC Revenge Pro is a very fun game for everyone to enjoy, except for the Critic Reviewers, since they don't like it.
SummaryGrab the controls. and hold on for dear life with the most electrifying, high speed racing experience available on land, sea and everywhere in between.
