Nicktoons Unite!

While somewhat repetitious, the linear design and simple control schemes will draw players along and it is not hard to work through the levels.

This game is rated E for Everyone, and rightfully so as only gamers around ten or younger could really find enjoyment playing as their favorite Nicktoon character.

Even though a lot of the features aren't put together properly and the sound and graphics are all outdated, it does manage to entertain you along the way - especially if you can play this through with someone else, particularly a child.

A manual camera (or at least one that would stay static), a lineup that would include more Nicktoons, and a difficulty select would greatly improve the game.

Co-op trash aimed at under-10s. Give us Mickey and Donald anyday. [June 2006, p.80]

Spongebob Squarepants and Friends Unite! will provide a bit for the fans but anyone looking for co-op action should look elsewhere, even if they’re under ten.

We've seen this before. "Nicktoons Unite!" may lack content and may be too short and simple, but it's the one way to treat your kid a game of ultimate teamwork.

While i liked the dialouge of the game. It just felt bleh. The color palletes use is just so foggy and lifeless, sometimes lag spike(yeah in a 05 game), some gameplay is sluggish. The bosses **** ass and unless you pull up a guide. Your doing the final boss at very least half hr. There are better nick crossover games then this one. Still decent but weakest of the4

The best way to describe this game, is that it's average. The storyline is average, the graphics are average, the boss battles are way too long, but still average, and the levels are again, way too long, but I guess there tolerable. The gameplay is fun, I guess, and every character does get their own unique abilities, but the abilities are rarely used in the game, and the game itself is extremely linear. Also, the camera really does ****, but it won't be that annoying unless you force it to be. So overall, buy it if your fan of the shows, but be warned that there isn't a ton here.

I can tell that the developers really tried with this. 4 nicktoons characters fighting together with there own abilities and mild RPG is a great concept. There is some clear love by the developers with references to each characters show. However, the game was clearly made in a year. The game is slow, clunky, and sometimes frustrated. Character abilities, which cool on paper, are clunky to activate and only really slows down any flow that combat may have had. Not help that enemies block half your attacks. Enemies also use that the gain a free hit. Unless you block, but that drains your energy which you need to use your abilities. See the problem here? The presentation also ****. Stages have little color and filled with fog. The music is very quite. In fact, it's barely music at all. Also the O button is jump. I know it's the only PS2 game to do so (Kingdom Hearts). But considering that this was my first platforming game, that kind of messed me up. Bottom line, this could have good, but small development time made just bad.

Unfun level design, clunky mechanics, obnoxious bosses and bland environments. Anyone thinking of playing this game, there are better options in this era.
