I cannot overstate how bland I found Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters to be, I was actually pretty surprised by how bored I found myself hour after hour. I can safely say that you’d be fine avoiding this one, and if you’re a fan of the series, you’d probably still do well to steer clear of this entry.

Sisters VS Sisters is in many ways a return to form in everything that matters to it. The satire is sharp and relevant. The characters are entertaining and endearing, and despite the sheer number of Neptunia games that have been released by now, Sisters VS Sisters finds a way to meaningfully contribute to and build on what has come before.

Devout Neptunia fans keen for another outlandish escapade to lose themselves in will no doubt get some enjoyment out of Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters. There’s little here for anyone else, though. Far better RPGs exist on PS5, and even as Neptunia games go this is a bit of a disappointment thanks largely to its ho-hum combat system. So, perhaps give it a miss unless you really must spend more time in Gamindustri.

If you can get this for under $40 and can appreciate the humor and references, then maybe it's worth it to give it a try. I wish they can update the graphics and have more polished gameplay.

I personally own a Steam version, but the guy below is right, it's not worth $50 or $70. Tbh, it's not even worth $20. Living in the cheapest Steam region (I actually live there), I bought my Steam version for just $6, that's its' actual price imo. And man, I really had wild thoughts of bying a console version for full $50 for, like, several months? Too good the version for my console (not PS) did not get imported into my country so I was saved from such a mindless waste of money. $50 is a lot here btw.

A very substandard Neptunia game, Sisters vs. Sister swaps from Neptune to Nepgear as the protagonist. Not a change I'm opposed to, but the gameplay is very clunky and awkward in this one, lacking the polish that the other hack and slash/action RPG titles had. The characters are fine, with the exception that previous Maker characters (IF and Compa) aren't playable, and the story is okay. Luckily, Game Maker Revolution improved upon the gameplay. I forgot the reasons why I didn't play this game in over a year since release, and then I remember the clunky combat. Combat is only worthwhile if you can get the advantage. You can skip over this one entirely, and miss nothing of note.

Although the shift to a more action-oriented combat system initially made me hesitant, I ended up loving every second of Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters once it all clicked. Plus, the meta-humour and lovely cast of characters are more delightful than ever.

If you’ve been waning on the Neptunia series recently, this one is worth picking up. While it doesn’t necessarily redefine the series as we know it, its distinct strengths can be used as a building block for future games to flourish consistently.

One of the best Neptunias ever. Don't listen to stupid pleas of haters and just go and buy one. Great gameplay, emotional and engaging story - they're here in your reach.

I've been loving Neptunia since 2010, and to be honest this one is just amazing

The best way to describe Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters is to talk about its casual experience. If you're looking for cute and funny moments, then the game might be a good fit - just don't expect too much from its combat.

Neptunia: Sisters Vs Sisters has wonderful combat and endearing characters, but a lack of difficulty and dodgy dungeons prevent it from being truly great.

Confusing for newbies, Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters hooks all genre fans. While it seems dated in many ways, it touches on red-hot topics surrounding influencers and AI, as well as media addiction. For this reason, a recommendation to play at least a little while.

Not going to lie the game is a great game but the game is too easy with no difficulty settings the challenge is kinda taken away also the dodging isn't ideal you have to block first and before you can block your attack cycle has to finish once you get the hang of it its not an issue. For the story in a Neptunia game I'm not disappointed it been awhile since I've played a good neptunia game but I do wish they did more with it. All i can say now is for them to add more difficulty I'm on my third run of the game and have both the True ending and the Normal ending the game is too easy.

Pro's Cute girls Nepgear! Good story Lots of hats Con's Heavily recycled content Extremely repetitive voice lines in dungeons Awful side quests that rely heavily on RNG Some characters have awful skill sets Frame rate locked at 30FPS Graphical glitches and rendering issues Stuttering gameplay in places Awful combat system Unable to dodge/block during a combo/special Limited disc crafting system Where are all the costumes? I've been a nep fan since the original PS3 game and unfortunately all the spin-offs, Yes Nep SvS is a spin off suffers from many different problems and obviously a lack of funding which is a shame since Nepgear is my favorite Goddess Candidate. Storywise, that is actually fine and falls within the main canon storyline with the typical plot twists and 4th wall breaking you can expect from the series, that is basically the only really good aspects of the game as the rest fall apart very quickly. Gameplay wise, its a mess. IF went with action style combat and it doesn't work, its buggy and atrocious in places with enemies either being severely overpowered, or die in one hit. Combat also suffers from a major under sight and that is it is impossible to dodge or block during any combo or special attacks, whilst the enemies can attack you through these attacks and the best way forward is to abuse the chain skill to change to a different character which briefly stuns your target, so the the entire flow of battle is spam attacks > change character > spam > change character, even simple things like healing is a mess too. Sound is heavily recycled, along with all previous assets with very little new content actually added, another huge annoyance is the fact your party is extremely vocal, every few seconds they are speaking about various things and repeat constantly, it gets so old and annoying that in dungeons you have to actually mute the speech because constant every 2 - 3 seconds the same voice lines repeating over and over. Unforgivable is the side quests, many of these are the typical fetch quests, kill X monster or talk to someone in a dungeon, the two former are a real problem especially with fetch quests because these entail you running around dungeons breaking boxes to get items in them, its entirely random and later on as the items increase it gets harder and harder to find specific items because of the random loot you can find, so you are forced to reload a dungeon, run around breaking ****'t find anything, teleport out of the dungeon and repeat....repeat....repeat...until you either give up or actually find what you are looking for. Also, another issue in this action based RPG is that not all characters are actually useful, in fact some characters like Neptune don't even appear until mid-game and her skill set is awful, whilst other characters like Noire can absolutely smash enemies in seconds. The crafting system is also extremely weak, with limited combinations and most are useless. At first glance, the power cancel/rush cancel abilities sounded like you could actually cancel your combos if you needed to dodge/block an attack and unfortunately they don't meaning any time a boss or enemy attacks you cannot defend yourself. Overall, Neptunia: Sister vs Sister is a huge disappointment and once again serves that the fans are being unfairly treated to spin-off games instead of funding a proper mainline game Neptune deserves. This game would have been far better suited to the classic turn based combat instead of a poor and buggy action based combat, so much so it probably would have saved the game entirely.
SummaryWhile the Goddesses were out responding to a distress call from the faraway PC Continent, Nepgear and the other Candidates were sent to investigate an abandoned laboratory. It was there that they found the "Ashen Goddess," who trapped them in a deep sleep capsule. By the time they awoke, 2 years had already passed. The latest smartphon... Read More
