This game is short but sweet. The game does a great job at being scary setting up this claustrophobic atmosphere, like your trapped in a small house with someone hunting you. Another thing that makes this game one of the creepiest games I have ever played is the art style. The crude pixels give this game even more creep factor than before. The game relies more on its atmosphere and the jumpscares simply supplement the creep factor rather than just spamming them at you. And it helps that the jumpscares are legitimately TERRIFYING. The more you progress in the game the scarier the game gets, and it made me feel uneasy while playing the game, which IMO is something that EVERY horror game should strive to do. The game's stealth mechanics are also pretty fleshed out and really fun. The game has some good difficulty to it but not so much it feels frustrating, the game feels fair and fun to play. This is an amazing horror game, really wish Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2 took notes from its predecessor, or else we could have gotten something that was more than just a disappointment. The game is short but it's amazing.

Mr Hopp’s Playhouse (2019) review: the pixel game that gave me the chills. It’s creepy, to be honest. I did enjoy it, to be honest as well. The graphics (pixels) and cutscenes were well-made and the controls aren’t that frustrating (except when our main character, Ruby, runs out of air quickly, when she runs). The music and noises add even more goosebumps. No voice actors, though. Although I did enjoy the game, there were a few details that disappointed me: when Ruby runs and loses her breath quickly, the length of gameplay (very short) and not knowing when Mr Hopp is around us. But apart from that, Mr Hopp’s Playhouse is absolutely a worth-trying pixel game who only horror game fans will love. FINAL SCORE: 8.2/10 (very good)

SummaryEvery kid has that one toy that scares them, imagine if it came to life. You play as Ruby, a young girl who has a fear of her handmade toy called Mr. Hopp. Things take a dark turn when Ruby sees that Mr. Hopp, who usually sits motionless in the corner of her room, is gone.
