An underrated game. The game is like a mix of Dark Souls, Elex, Gothic and Banishers. Critics were mainly due to optimization (1% lows and 0.1% lows + stuttering), poor advertising, and affiliation with a company that players dislike. Despite all this, it plays great, and the game is fun once you've developed your character. And when you do side quests and what best weapons the game is not short (40h).There are some nice puzzle game SEBO, though I didn't beat them all, maybe 90%. The music is okay, the graphics are appreciated after playing for longer, an interesting setting, fun exploration (with double jump and dash), and plenty of collectibles. And the combat is really good (two different ranged weapons, plus a melee weapon). My only reservation is using grenades with the same button as healing; it makes it too complicated. Parrying is sometimes too imprecise, but overall, you can beat bosses thanks to it, so it's okay. Besides optimization, the problem is fighting multiple enemies, but only until you level up your character. Perhaps the camerawork could also be improved.

A very good surprise for me. I'm 12hrs deep into the game, and i like almost everything about it. Of course there's nothing revolutionary, but i do enjoy the artistic direction, the combats, the lore and the characters. I really like it and i'm a bit sad that it's not enjoyed that much because there's love into that game. Give it a chance ! EDIT : I just finished it and i want a sequel. I've spent nearly 20hrs on it and it was a great experience all along, not too hard nor too easy, with a great final boss and a nice ending demanding for more. I want to know what the characters will become ! I think that in a world where people aren't bombed with thousands of games everyday, this would have been a great commercial success. Words from a big gamer.

Surprise hit of the year for me. Flintlock has rough edges, but the combat is frantic, fun, and full of options — melee, guns, magic, even a fox companion. Short, smartly designed, and a great bridge between soulslikes and action-adventure. Solid 8/10.

Soy slop that focuses on magical corny story telling that does not captivate the gamer.

A C-tier passable souls-like with lots of problems. The biggest issue is that the combat is fundamentally flawed and repetitive. It's most reminiscent of Bloodborne's fast-paced dodging and parrying with guns, but lacks the finesse and attention to enemy design of that game, so encounters ends up being about swinging your axe wildly while spamming Enki, who is your spell-like companion. The story follows standard tropes, although the introduction of a WW1-like gun-centric environment is interesting. "Flintlock" doesn't have much enemy or build variety, and there's nothing really to recommend it unless you've played every other Souls-like. I played this on the xbox.

Good game! It has interesting combat, which is based on souls games. I missed more boss battles. Average graphics.

Liked the combat a lot, liked the aesthetic and the story was alright. But just because of how **** Sebo is, this game isn't worth anyone's time. Yes Sebo is completely optional, but I'm a completionist, if its in a game, I wanna do it. Sebo looks like a cute lil minigame to break up the combat, but its really an RNG hellscape with little or no thought put behind it. The ONLY way to win matches is hoping the AI decides to fumble, that's it, no strategy, no skill, just RNG.

Really good game. At start is hard especially the dodge skills but then you get use to it. The system and the enemies are balanced. A really good game that anyone can enjoy. You don´t need to be an expert in video games.

This is a good action adventure game with a story that does the job. Axe, gun, Enki and multiple blackpowder abilities makes the action really fun. The user score here is absolutely unfair and incorrect. I had zero crashes, zero bugs, fun gameplay, ok story, it was challenging but fair, by no means over the top difficult,...

I think this game has a very fun esthetic and fun approach. The abilities are cool, the story, while nothing terrible new, is good. The weapon varity is nice as well. Exploration was fine and the travel system using your god friend, Enki, is pretty useful. I say give it a chance and stick with it for a little while before you judge it. I honestly loved it. I really hope this game gets a sequel

Загалом непогано. Але є враження ніби гра недороблена. Наприклад фінальний удар на останньому босі я побачив лише з 5-го разу а так він щоразу відновлювався і я починав все спочатку. Камера ужасно крива.

Bland story, lore, characters, dialogue, voice acting, etc. Sort of fun and varied gameplay but clunky and janky combat and bosses that were annoyingly tanky and spitting a lot of ranged attacks at you. Last bosses were even rough on story mode difficulty. But the game is pretty fun all in all. Could have been really good with a bit more tweaking.

Flintlock is a combination of soulslike and action-adventure RPG. The game portrays the efforts of a sapper striving to save humanity from catastrophe. Her altruistic personality is clearly evident as she helps everyone she possibly can. The protagonist’s story is engaging, consistently drawing you to continue the journey to discover how it ends. You also have a supportive team that not only aids you but also relies on you. The combat system is well-designed, offering players a wide variety of weapons, armor, skills, and spells to create a personalized fighting style. One of the game’s standout features is the protagonist’s remarkable mobility, further enhanced by the ability to unlock numerous portals that enable short-distance teleportation. This feature significantly boosts the dynamics of gameplay, allowing for attacks on enemies from different angles and providing breathtaking aerial views of the game’s map. The map itself is large, intricate, and diverse enough to make exploration thoroughly enjoyable. Along the way, you’ll encounter a wide range of enemies that will require you to adjust your combat strategy. The only issue I encountered was the slightly chaotic camera control when choosing targets. Sometimes the reticle would jump around, selecting the wrong enemy, or when trying to detonate an explosive barrel next to a group of enemies, I ended up hitting only one of them instead. While the options menu includes settings to adjust camera behavior and target switching, these didn’t work as intended. Overall, the gameplay was highly enjoyable, and I wholeheartedly recommend the game.

Its a overall mediocre game. Nothing seems extraordinary. Traversing is fun but the game doesn't have anything else to it. The combat is pretty bland.

soooooo overhatet!! Nice ideas and nice combat but its obviously AA and not AAA.... the animations are AA and some animations. Personaly I thinks the bosses are much harder then the rest of the game. I love the fantasy setting and the story (there isn't much story, only the dynamic between nor and enki)

What a fun and beautiful game. The combat is solid, challenging without being frustrating. The abilities you unlock keep it feeling fresh and look pretty cool. Side quests are good, they fill out the world nicely and don't feel pointless with the reward making it feel worth the effort. I had a great time playing this game. Honestly don't understand the bad reviews. This game is definitely worth you time.

I loved this game. If you liked God of War 2018, you are gonna like this. Its really good. Its an action rpg with souls like mechanics. Semi open world. Items, enemies, combat (amazing combat btw) everything works. You have a partner (Enki) with you and its very similar to GoW (helping you with combat) Also you can "fly" with him by using some kind of "portals" and it feels nice. I can only but recommend this game.

You dodge by jumping, and the NPC on the ground still deals damage to you. This makes the game completely unplayable.

It's unbelievably clunky. The parry window is generous, but it's inconsistent, and sometimes you miss the parry because you stand too close to the enemy WTF? The distance you need to travel back if you are killed is ridiculous. The world is empty and anti-exploration. The performance is atrocious. My GPU handles most games with Ultra settings easily, but with this game I get stutters with High settings.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is A44 Games' bravest work and it impressed us in a positive way. The combat system and the dynamism of the battles are its strength, trying to capture a large audience of gamers. Exploratory freedom and design choices are an element that has been well studied when approaching the main quest, secondary missions and object searches. The game produced by Kepler Interactive is a large work and suitable for attracting many players but it does not make inroads like the original Ashen which shone with its own light. Certain design choices are not balanced with the challenge introduced.

Waste of time... They try to combine good games like bloodborne (parry mechanic ), god of war, sekiro ( I saw one irrelevant rooster ) etc. But gameplay, specially hit effect is so weak and boring

I don't really understand why people are giving it such low scores. This isn't meant to be a giant game like Elden Ring people haha! For the contained action/adventure game it is I'd say it is pretty fun so far. Combat is not quite as simple as people make it out to be and the effects while fighting are pretty solid!

It's an enjoyable soulslike game. Comparable to sekiro because it is also very parry heavy. I didn't really enjoy the first 2 hours of the game. The main character was annoying for me and you have limited abilities. After the first 2 hours the main character stops saying/doing annoying things and you get extra abilities/options. I just wish they went with a different main character and gave you more abilities from the start. Overall I still enjoyed my playthrough and it's definetly worth a play. (Especially on gamepass or while on sale)

Another game ruined by the Stinky Baby. They came in and changed the main character (who is now modeled after Stinky Baby's CEO Kim Belair, talk about being self-obsessed, geez!). They also made changes to the story to preach a "colonization is evil" agenda. Wokeness truly is a cancer that should not be tolerated in entertainment. But even when disregarding all of this it's just a below average Dark Souls clone that literally every other Dark Souls clone does much better. Avoid like the plague.

(MY SCORE : 7.3 /10) This Action Role-Playing Game with Soulslike elements (Soulslite) is quite exciting and challenging! In this game we become Nor Vanek, a female soldier assigned to close the portal "The Door to the Great Below". The portal guarded by the Guardian of the Door, Uru, caused the evil Ancient Gods and their troops, the Undead Army, to invade the Lands of Kian and the City of Dawn. Nor Vanek also meets Enki, a mysterious creature in the form of a fox who is also one of the Gods, who will help Nor to kill the Ancient Gods. LIST OF BOSS I Faced (namely God, Bandit Leader, Army of The Dead Leader, Adversary and Horde): Eye Gouger. Guardian Of The Door. Iron Crown. Fierce Rai. Ravaging Horde. Whitebridge Horror. Festered Wound. Roving Rabble. Feral Pack. Rammuha. Skullcracker. Skinless. Ekhagrrii. High Scribe. Ruinous Mass. Dukmar. Obliterating Horde. Inaya. Deathly Horde. And ENDING BOSS: Uru.

This was awful. l didn't like the protagonist, at all. Why play when the protagonist is uninteresting. Weapon upgrades are useless, they barely do anything. Story is so generic. Lost me after 5 minutes. I finished the game but didn't enjoy my time. I give it a 2 because its free, its a short game, nice pace. Exploration is decent.

I finished Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn last night. It was alright. It was too hard for me so I lowered it to easy then I enjoyed it more. It was mostly pretty linear but had some open areas with side quests and stuff. Took me around 12 hrs to beat doing most of the side quests.

It was a fun game that many people are missing out on for a very stupid reason. The platform movement is fun, the fights ar tough, the world is massive and secretive and the graphics are beautiful. I don’t understand the trend on hating something because of a smallaspect of the game. Give it a go, I had a blast and enjoyed my time with it.

They do give you a cool mechanic to play with that amplifies the xp gains based on your moves used. I did engage with that mechanic, but soon I realised that the enemy movesets and attacks are completely incompatible with that mechanic. I constantly found myself building the meter to above 100% only to lose it to some junk attack animation thats literally impossible to predict. This is trash , the core mechanic of the game is incompatible with the enemy design. I have no idea what the devs were thinking when designing the enemies

"Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn" breathes new life into the Souls-lite genre with its accessible yet challenging gameplay. The game combines tough combat with captivating lore and meticulously designed environments, enhancing the overall player experience. Although there are aspects of gameplay that could be polished, it successfully broadens the genre's appeal to a wider **** storyline unfolds rapidly, which can feel rushed and leads to a somewhat abrupt conclusion. This pacing might leave some players wishing for a more developed narrative arc. For enthusiasts of the genre accustomed to rigorous challenges, selecting the hard difficulty setting is recommended; easier levels may not deliver the intended intensity and challenge. In sum, "Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn" emerges as a formidable entry in its category, blending accessibility with the classic challenge expected of Souls-like games. The game possesses significant potential that could have been better utilized to elevate the experience further, particularly in expanding narrative depth and smoothing out gameplay mechanics. — Written by Ronny Fiksdahl, Fix Gaming Channel (****)

for a long time i was thinking "well i should just give this game a 3 or 4 score, becasue you know, it has gameplay (bad and clunky but still a gameplay), it has character model and voice acting (bad but it is), it has some skills and overall some character progression etc, but then i remembered i gave some pretty bad gacha games 3 score, and still i have more fun playing those gacha than playing this game. Everything here feels so off, impact hits, animations, stupid dialogs. This game remind me of Forspoken, but its somehow worse than Forspoken wherein at least some animations of attacks were smooth and some landscapes and overall quality was higher. Sadly i can't refund game because i want to test it and played too much hours, but i wish never touched it, one of the most clumsy games this year, but hey, could be worse so i give it a solid 2! for encouragement! If devs create a Flintlock 2 and they will improve overall quality, graphics, character designs and model, make combat actually attractive instead of this slopish fest, and made the game actual fun to play, then the score will be higher! But Flintlock: The siege of Dawn is 2, really deserved one.

Honestly, it’s a solid game for the money. Good combat, decent exploration and progression. No stamina or magic to manage, but it still had some challenge here and there. I was impressed with the verticality of the world for sure. I enjoyed it. I would say it’s better than quite a few souls likes but not the absolute best. And I dont believe race or gender was mentioned a single time. And your character gets covered with armor pretty much right away just like in most of these games. I just don’t understand the bad reviews.

A game that I grew to enjoy overtime. At first I wasn't feeling the floaty movement and combat, but once I unlocked more and more abilities on the skill tree, it started to feel pretty good. I don't think the story is anything special, but the world is fairly fun to explore. There is coin based board game you play with people all over the world and I did not have any fun playing that.

I am a **** for Souls-likes (or Souls-lite as they call this). The game itself is pretty decent, looks great, combat has some depths to it but kind of feels a bot too much. It took me 40 hours to finish the game on hard with some annoying backtracking fro wood as I wanted to upgrade both my weapons (Judge Hammer, Flame Axe) to max. It seems the game has not easy to find or to buy resources to even max out more then 2 weapons. There is not even a NG+. I played in hard and its decently challenging. Heard people finished the game in half of my time. I switched to normal difficulty for the 1st and last boss. The first boss I was just tryharding and did not even try with the hammer, it was annoying to learn insane range, red attacks that you seem to need to predict instead of trying to shoot interrupt when they actually show red. Felt annoyed but later was annoyed with myself for not trying with hammer and learning some more. The first really trash boss was the 2nd Remnant miniboss. The boss area is covered with water, yet he makes some fire ring attacks where some kind of glitter follows that is hard to see and still hurts you. Sometimes I could not really see it on the water. Who came up with this crap? You can argue its magic but still fire on water with some stupid glitter that is hard to see. Annoying fight, especially the end where the spam takes insane levels. You just have to blast with granades, motar and whatever you have. I had a feeling for "less is more" at times. Some bosses can be kind of slowly taken down by Enki poison and you just circling them in a distance. Some are just so hard and so few opening that it feels like cheesing them this was and then all the explosive stuff the game gives you makes them stay on fire for long times. It makes it manageable but feels a bit weird. Compared to Ashen that took some kind of dark cartoonish art style the was like budged but has its own charme. This game looks more realistic, yet pretty generic, while looking pretty good (modern UE4). The last boss was absolutely horrible, managed to get him into 2nd phase after couple of tries but I also gave up on hard on him. Not because he was to hard, just because it was a fight I did not feel like learning. Absolute cancer to fights, locked on **** almost as much as not locked on for this fights. He seems to grab you mid air when he flys above you, shooting him while he glows red did never work for me when he did that attack ... just about everything about this fight is annoying and not fun to learn. Overall I would give the game a 6.5/10 maybe BUT lets talk woke infestation by Sweet Baby Inc. and them lying about it. Not supporting that! Its actually had lots of potential. More better bosses. NG+ or some way to actually max out more weapons at the end of the game. Not sure how much wood and sulfur I missed but I lacked those and maybe more. Could have easy be a 8/10 game with just a little bit more. But instead they rather wokeify the game and release it like half baked.
