If you can't get a sick sense of joy from using a man as a stone in a stone skimming competition, making him convulse as he bounces off the water's surface, what kind of mentally deranged person are you?
FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage isn't perfect, and doesn't quite live up to its promise; but it's sitting on the doorstep of absolute, legendary greatness. Everyone with a spark in their soul for high speed, ultra-destructive fun should play this game, and cross their fingers that just that tiny bit of extra care can be lavished on the next game in the series.
Exciting, carnage-fueled, arcade racer with great track design. But wonky difficulty balancing and N64-era rubber-band AI hold it back from greatness.

Fun demolition racer with nice graphics and plenty of challenges. A bit one note but there are plenty of vehicles and scenery to smash and crash through and the resulting chaos ensures that no two races are exactly the same.

I love everything about this game. Destruction, gravity, soundtrack, car upgrades, graphics, fun game modes. You should try it if you'll have a chance!

Absolutely crappy remake. It's more demake, than re-. - Broken physics - 12 racers (instead of 8 in FO2) => more chaos and less fun - Color palette get cold (instead of warm color in FO2) - AI still loves cheating - Tracks have loss lot of details that can be interacted with

Ultimate Carnage makes excellent use of what the Xbox 360 has to offer including fantastic online play and superb graphics. If you like console racers and destroying cars and scenery, this title is worth a look. The fact that this game was released as a $50 bargain title, and has strong replay value, makes it a no-brainer.

For those who missed out on FlatOut 2 for the original Xbox, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage for the Xbox 360 is a wonderful upgraded port that not only looks great but handles beautifully as well.

Absolute incredible Racing game and the definitive version of Flatout 2. FlatOut UC is fun, frantic, intense and fluid in both design and game play. It has an incredibly fun campaign and arcade mode as well as a very competitive online. The tracks are very well designed featuring lots of minor detail, multiple paths, shortcuts and destructible objects/pathways. The game which is built on destruction, does everything it intends to. You must play this game!

It's fun as hell. looks great, and might have the most visceral destruction-derby gameplay since those old "Destruction Derby" PS1 games from Reflections. [Nov 2007, p.111]

With a bit more refinemente this could have been superb. Instead, it's very good. [Sept 2007, p.68]

While this is one of the best last-generation updates yet on the Xbox 360, I can't help but feel a little cheated. With all of the upgrades in graphics, gameplay, and play modes, I don't understand why the core of this game remained FlatOut 2.

All in all then, it's almost there, but not quite: a good game, a good edition to the genre and a sound purchase - especially for driving game fans, but not an essential one quite yet.

Undeniably fun. It’s also incredibly derivative and still, after three tries, flawed.

My favorite racer and I've played a lot. If you like fun, non-anal racers a lot like burnout with amazing graphics and great offline mp this is for you. Single player is massive with lots of game modes. My son loves the party mode of flying the driver out of the window. Will be interested to see how Dirt showdown compares.

This game is good, I'll give it that. It's basically an expansion pack for FlatOut 2. The only reason why this game can't have a 9/10, is because LAN mode, for some reason, doesn't work properly.

If you've played FO2, you don't need FO2:UC. And why Bugbear go with Games for Window? Better play FlatOut1, FlatOut2, or FlatOut3. Or FlatOut Wii. Or FlatOut PSP. But not FlatOut2: Ultimate Carnage!
