It looks good oc, but unfortunately altho it add life sim or school sim, the core it is still the same game but with different skins. Weirdly enough the gba fire emblem is more addictive than this one.

Well well well, its basically 4 games in 1. And the Black Eagle Route is the most underrated route.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is one of the best games I've ever played. It's one of those rare games that I actually beat, and then immediately booted up another playthrough, which I pretty much never do. The last time I played through a game I've already beaten was in 2009 when I replayed Pokemon Platinum. I'm not kidding. So the fact that I finished Three Houses and wanted to keep playing speaks volumes to how good **** it actually is. A few of the highlights of the game were: the characters (Edelgard and Dimitri in particular were some of the best characters I've seen in a video game), the voice acting was exceptional, the tactical combat was fun and satisfying, and the social sim stuff was pretty good as well, though it started to overstay its welcome towards the end. The star of the show for Three Houses though was the story, which is, yet again, one of the best I've ever seen in a game. It deals with some incredibly complex world building, alongside some great twists. The 4 paths you can take in this game just make things even more interesting, as they provide tons of replayability to see the story play out in different ways. My only minor complaints about this game (keeping it from a 10) are that it suffers from some of the anime-isms that plague a lot of Japanese content, like characters doing stuff that normal people would never do in the real world (for instance making promises for stupid things and then being overly zealous about fulfilling this promise to move along the plot). I also didn't love some of the weirder elements of the lore, some of the monster designs, religious aspects, etc. The lore was also downright confusing at times, and I don't think some elements of it are explained well. The graphics were also pretty mid. I get that there were hardware limitations, but compared to Luigi's Mansion 3, some of the Xenoblade games, BOTW, etc. this game is pretty meh to look at. Overall though, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an incredible game that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish, in my opinion (even in spite of the graphics and story problems), it's the best game on the Switch because of its unique mix of fun (and dare I say addicting) tactical combat, engaging social sim stuff, deep story, and lovable characters.

This game was too easy and the whole shoehorned in social system made the game drag on not that the actual battles were any good. Fire Three Houses is more dumbed down then awakening and awakening was already babies first RPG. I beat one playthrough and never came back. I'll take Fire Emblem Path Of Radiance and Blazing Sword over this dumbed down trash any day.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a great example of how modern conventions can make an old game formula feel fresh. I have always described Fire Emblem as Anime-Chess because even though it is a tactics game akin to the Mercenaries Saga and Final Fantasy Tactics, this installment feels far more like I am playing Risk than a tactics game. The music in this game does not disappoint, and i hope to some day get this OST on the Nintendo Music app. The addition of the school scene makes the characters feel far more developed because you can experience the character progression. I can better select the characters im willing to invest time and effort into. I deffo get Hogwarts vibes when roaming the plaza. I have a terrible habit of restarting an entire battle when a character I want to love dies, so the addition of the "undo button" takes a lot of stress off. Unlike the oldest of Fire Emblems, this game has sub-battles where you can grind a character and beef their stats, but to its detriment, it made those battles feel more empty to me. There are no stakes and I feel no pressure if a character falls in battle because technically I could have chosen not to fight at all. A calendar system was added to make the chapters have more depth, which i actually think is a great touch. Each week, the students would have class, then at the end of the week I can choose to roam the school, take a rest to boost motivation, or battle random bandits. The calendar was a good way to let the player budget what to do with their time, but it made my 3rd week of battles feel bland and pointless. Overall, the story is fine. I didn't feel as engaged in Byleth as I did Corrin or Marth. Even though Byleth has a connection to the goddess of this world, I never really felt like there was payoff or anything that made Byleth's connection worth it. I still like this game and look forward to the next installment.

Fire Emblem Three Houses is an incredible experience. To the wonderful cast of characters, the gripping story, and the engaging gameplay.

A hard game to review since the different routes deserve different scores. As such, I will focus on the route I played first, which is also the best in the game: the Blue Lions route (Golden Deer deserves the same score but the other two do not have the same quality). Amazing story, with an incredibly well realized cast of characters. The monastery was a great addition to keep the battles from getting boring all the way through, though the maps leave a bit to be desired.

This game is amazing. I put about 300hrs straight into the game before I even got somewhat burnt out. Although the monastery is a little tedious towards the end of the game, you don’t even need to go to it to advance. Do the blue lions first, then the golden deer, then the Church and then the empire. THIS GAME IS SO GOOD DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVITY

The best story within the franchise so far (very low bar), but replayability is low. However the attempt to not make a golden route is respectable and most of the leaders' views have merits.

There are things I both like, and dislike about Fire Emblem Three Houses, as someone who's played Fire Emblem since the very beginning in the West (being the 7th game). The first I like about Three Houses are that the multiple routes are all included in one game, and the perspectives add a lot of replay value to a Fire Emblem game that others don't really have. Combat is improved by all characters being able to use all weapon types, but able to benefit by working on certain abilities. Skills and battalions can add new tactical depth tp the game, making strategy top notch for this game. And you can even recruit other characters from different houses into your army by training certain stats, which adds a lot of management, but it's also a weak point to me. It's very overwhelming for no reason, and the hub area is something I really dislike, because rather than feel rewarded for doing certain tasks, it always feels like I'm doing the wrong option. I feel like Three Houses was on the right track for a hub area, but Engage managed to make it better. I feel like if Three Houses had Engage's hub, it would be a 10/10 game. It's a solid game, aided by an excellent story and characters, with new wrinkles added to combat, but the hub area is what drags it back for me. For me, Three Houses is a very solid 8/10.

Relationship building, grid style combat, great voice acting. This game hits the mark on what the devs set out to do, simple yet detailed. The 3 main story lines is an exceptional idea to create interest in replay ability and new story content. Highly recommend for anyone with a bit of patience early on to get into the story.

Quite repetitive but its a great game to pick up and play for short to medium gaming sessions as the story is easy to follow. The social aspects are well implemented and theres decent replay value as well given the branching storylines.

A good successor after Fates and Awakening. Yet it fails to capture the same magic of its predecessors. Still, it is a massively better game than Engage.

I absolutely loved this game. The RPG side combined with turn-based combat was perfect for me. I loved the whole teachingsystem that allows you to build your team and the fact that you can choose three paths that the game can take - which is nothing new for FE, but I still loved how you can piece together the story from multiple points of view. The combat system is extremely intricate based not only on weapons, but on classes and how well you grow your house. It's easy to play and master in easy and intermediate mode, I haven't tried the maddening mode but that's a challenge worth taking imo. Perfect story that unfolds slowly. Talking to the characters gives all sorts of clues as to what happenedand it made me feel more motivated to win each battle. It even has these updates on what happened to each character at the end. Overall, a fun and compelling game. I hope they do more of that.

I loved the battles and the gameplay within the battles. Although I hated the life sim component as I found very boring to spend so much time leveling up the support and affinity of students and teacher (Hanging out with students and giving them presents, wtf?) . In addition, the font size is so small that it is completely unplayable on handheld mode.

Honestly, I like the graphics way more than other people seem to. I don't have any issues with the character models and I don't care about the maps supposedly lacking detail, it's never bothered me and everything does as it's meant to. There's some pop-up sometimes around the monastery/NPCs appearing out of nowhere when they load, but I can easily ignore that. There are so many characters that I'd be surprised if you can't find a solid few you really enjoy. They're very varied in personality and appearance, though the character writing varies from "complex and in-depth" (Edelgard, Dimitri, Rhea) to "basically one major personality trait" (Raphael, Bernadetta, Cyril). My personal favourites are Claude, Sylvain, Hilda, Lorenz, Leonie, Yuri, Manuela, Hanneman, and Raphael (sure, I listed him as an example of objectively one-note writing, but I could still write you a whole essay on this guy). I love the Golden Deer as a collective, though. I really like the combat in this game. It's the first time I've played anything like this, and it's one of very very few games where I go out of my way to participate in fights because I want to, or where I find myself thinking "man I feel like doing some combat in that video game right now". The dialogue options outside of battle are silly, though - it's the most blatant case of "two options that are just reworded ways to say the exact same thing and get the exact same response" I've ever seen. Multiplayer is functionally non-existent. All it is is that if you have your online mode turned on, glowing circles will appear on battlefields signifying where other players have died or killed a unit often and granting you some XP or basic items if you stand on those spots, as well as giving you stat pages in loading screens that show things like who the most popular character for players to take to tea that month or what the most frequently fed animal at the Monastery is. Overall, this is a great game. I've played through Golden Deer 4 times so far (one for each gender of Byleth so I could S-support everyone in it, then starting over and doing the same again to refresh myself after ages of not playing), 2 runs of Blue Lions, and I'm currently finishing up my second go at Silver Snow before moving on to Edelgard's route. Taking a point off because White Clouds is mind-numbingly annoying to get through if you're replaying it often like I am since it doesn't vary by route, the romantic M/M options are pretty trash (one single gay romance option in the base-game before two more were added with paid DLC, one of those being route-specific, is crazy in a game with dozen and dozens of straight ones) and for more minor issues like the dialogue options thing, but I can't justify rating it lower - I still really like it and it's definitely one of my favourite games.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a very good, but extremely flawed game. First off, the story is an incredibly mixed bag. Ignoring the DLC (which I have not played), the story can be divided into 4 routes. The Verdant Wind route is carried by the characters and the final boss, but is overall a pretty good story, while Silver Snow and Crimson Flower both make me want to tear my hair out with how awful they were written. Edelgard and Rhea are so badly characterized in these routes it is shocking. What really carries the story in my eyes is the Azure Moon route. Watching Dimitri's progression as a character is incredible, with even the earlier pre-timeskip parts being enhanced in this routes compared to others since Ashe and Sylvain having big parts that are only emphasized in this route. I am not going into detail since I don't want to spoil anything, just now of the few FE games I have played, this route has the best story. The mechanics are at their best in this series, with one major flaw. This game really should have used the weapons triangle. Nevertheless, all of the other mechanics are great. Teaching your students to make them better at certain skills feels rewarding, battalions are a natural inclusion that makes you feel like a genius when playing, the recruitment system is a simple yet effective way to increase your army without feeling overpowered and the option to play without permadeath is great to someone who isn't the biggest fan of the mechanic. I also like how you have to plan differently to fight the Beasts than when you fight human opponents. Playing the game feels great. The characters in the game are great. I know I just said that I hate the way Edelgard is written, but that is exclusively in her route. In the other 3, she is a great character that makes you think a lot and serves as a great comparison to the protagonists of each respective protagonist. Most of the students are very well written too, with Sylvain, Dorothea, Mercedes, Lysisthea, Flaynn, Seteth and Dedue being my favourties. Even some of the less liked characters, like Cyril, Hanneman, Caspar and Leonie, are characters that I still enjoy. But the stars of the show are Claude and Dimitri. Claude is just an absolute blast to have around, with him just being one of the most charming characters to engage with, and he has a lot of depth to him (which I will not spoil, go play the game). Dimitri has the best development in the game, and is one of my favourite characters not just in gaming, but in media all together. Not every character is great (Rhea, Gilbert and every antagonist except the Death Knight and the final boss of Golden Deer is pretty bad) but overall, the characters are great. Lastly, the atmosphere, both in the monastery and during combat is great. The monastery gives an opportunity to interact with the aforementioned great characters, and it feels so relaxing to just walk around in. It does get old after a while, but I think that has more to do with having over 100 hours and less to do with the game itself. The scenery in the combat is also great. While I don't use it often, sometimes I like using the zoom in mode to see my battalions and the scenery in greater detail. Just don't play too many auxiliary battles (they reuse the same maps too many times), and you will be fine. Overall, I loved my experience with the game, but there were some major hangups, mainly with the story. If the story was better in Silver Snow and Crimson Flower I could have given it a nine or even a ten if I feel a bit generous, but I can't do that since only half of the story is good. Still, would highly recommend this game. Just stick to Blue Lions and Goldeen Deer.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses, where do I begin, this game has awesome characters, awesome design, and an awesome appearance of Anna, the only thing I dislike about the game is that weapons rust instead of being destroyed completely when they lose all their durability, but otherwise it’s fine.

Pretty good game, however beign a game made for Nintendo, took a toil.. I took 39 hours to finish the Edelgard route, and I am not even interested on the other routes, at least not while this game is still on Switch. The Ending was lackluster, no answers at all, whole story was somewhat lacking, even the romance is weird at end the MC just *here take this ring like a piece of bread* and this is it, not even a hug or brush.. I loved the strategy and game setting, however the schedule was quite annoying, liked the characters, but this game needed more time.. shame on Nintendo.

I really liked the social aspects of the game. Dialogues between characters were sometimes naive and childish, but I liked the story regardless. I wish the romance was more fleshed out. What is definitely the flaw of this game is that it’s built to be replayed (4 routes), but not much changes on replay. We got different perspective and a lot of small info but battle locations were the same (I played lions and deers). Combat was great. The design was really good, it felt like medieval fantasy (design felt realistic in most part). In the end I had a great time and I wish new fire emblem games will contain mature story with toned down design and rewarding combat, just like three houses.

SO much content that it would be normal to think this is 3 games in one
Pros:
-In the beginning you will join one out of 3 houses each has different plot and cast of characters so yes you could treat this as a 3 game in 1 deal its so good
-Gameplay is a chesslike tactical turn based game where each unit has a specific move patterns and such, easy to learn hard to master i personally love it
-look at the first pro and how about if i tell you EVERY SINGLE character is unique and has distinct personalities most you could romance as well if you like
-for me the story is unpredictable and really good
-i play on english dub and the voice acting delivers
Cons:
-gameplay cycle can be a bit repetitive towards the end
-my waifu became a racist near the end?? could become a plus if you're into that im just bewildered at it

One of my personal favorites alongside with Awakening. These game brings so much to the table, raising exponentially the quality of the franchise. Spent a hundred hours or so to see each path the story had, and all of them were outstanding. I highly encourage people to give it a try, one of the best switch game hands down.

Persona mechanics and similarities aside, Fire Emblem: Three Houses more than stands on its own as a fantastic entry in the series. I particularly enjoyed how customizable your units are, making combat super dynamic and interesting. The tactical aspect of the game makes difficulty level a nice sweet spot for me, not really having to worry about grinding. The option to make the game harder with the "classic" mode is appreciated, but it is something that I will probably never touch since I seriously struggled to complete the older titles. I am actually rather lukewarm on the social aspect of this game, which surprised me since that was the aspect that I found most intriguing about Persona's mechanics, but it just never really connected with me. I didn't necessarily hate it, but while I liked the characters enough, a lot of the tasks and conversations just ended up not really being too interesting to me. But I think the game's storyline is alright, being able to experience events from three different perspectives. I still think Golden Deer is the best one to be honest. Finally, the game has a great soundtrack, but it's honestly pretty ugly at times, mostly the backgrounds and set pieces, but I find that it never distracts from the game, it just doesn't really put forth the most flattering image.

Yeah! This game rocks. I enjoy the tactical combat in this one, it's such a welcome change from the typical JRPG romp. Not only that, the social sim makes sense and isn't completely stupid so plus points for that. I wish they went further, though. More characters. More interesting interactions. More odd, first-person dinners with side characters. If they lean more into this social sim, it could turn from good to great :)

This was my first fire emblem game, everything about it was excellent. The gameplay was phenomenal, the story was amazing, the graphics were great. I have no complaints, it got me hooked on Fire emblem and I have since played most of them. My only complaint is about how the future titles such as engage weren't even close to being as good as this one.

After playing for over 100 hours and finishing only the WV route, here are my thoughts after playing for so long. I enjoy Three Houses, the option to customize units to any is a good idea and I like the exploration and enjoy the gameplay as it has some good ideas. However there are also some big issues that I don't like on the game. First is The gray and gray morality. I really don't like it. The grey and grey morality is the biggest problem for me as because two of the main lords can get dirty and ruthless, it can get too bleak to the point that there is no one to root for. And I just don't like nor enjoy its story as it's just too dark, and I do not like the cast as well as some of the characters in the game are too mean and rude and their actions do not make their likable. I do not like gray and gray morality and it's not for me. The support system is another thing with me, some of the supports like the C ones is very badly written to the point that I wish some of the characters were more friendlier because they left a very bad impression. As a result, I do not like some of the characters in the game. I really do not like the calendar system, because you have to start over upon finishing the game and I don't like that at all. Overall while I enjoyed Three Houses, the gray and gray morality, along with other issues, became harsher in hindsight to me. At first I really like it, but now I just find it too be average at best and downright bleak and depressing at worst.

I have played through this game nine times; it is the most played game in my entire library. I have to hold myself back from playing it again because it's so addicting. I love the characters and relationships; every playthrough I find new dynamics to get excited about. I love the commentary and branching narratives, and Blue Lions never fails to make me cry. The tactical gameplay is fun and satisfying. I think it's a very good game overall.

Really good tactical RPG. As a fan of the previous Fire Emblem games, I think the added "Persona-like" stuff of upgrading you and your units' stats through social and time-management mechanics works great. The story isn't really the main driver, it's pretty typical for what FE games tend to be, and most characters are very one dimensional or have a 180 twist, but it's enjoyable if you aren't looking for actually smart political drama (this is definitely not FFT or Vagrant Story).
And if you find RNG to be a major issue, you need to learn how these games are played. Playing around RNG is the main way this games challenge you, knowing when to take each action and how much of the enemy's attack will you be able to withstand. Also learning that losing units every now and then is fine.
