Quests: Game looks more like a ubisoft game, so many meaningless MMORPG quests. There are so many trash quests, its crazy, the whole journal is one big pile of crap. Whats the reason to make the game so long? Its so repetitive, I refuse to believe someone gets a dopamine rush after closing a rift for the 70th time. Glitches: Cant turn and look too long in 1 direction, because enemies will spawn 1 meter behind you. Ugly NPCs, enemies and NPCs sometimes have 10 fps. Closing the game takes like 1 min, I just alt F4 after saving. Our compannions like to be AFK during fights, enemies get inside walls, I got a few crashes too. Game: tactical view is trash, the combat is 10 times worse than DA1 or DA2. Story: game went towards PG13, no curse words or difficult choices. The story is meh, characters are annoying, previous characters dont make sense, Hawk wants to disband Grey Wardens for no reason, why he even hates them, so random… . Good example how Mass Effect had a story written before even third game came out, in this game looks like the writers had no idea what to do so the story is almost like Star Wars (big bad guy came back somehow). They butchered the whole Grey Wardens for no reason, they were the most important thing in the first 2 games and now they are some random hobos. 6/10, will not play again

Some worlds don’t just invite you in, they convince you to stay. Dragon Age: Inquisition feels like the kind of RPG that slowly takes over your routine without you even noticing. What begins as curiosity quickly turns into dozens of hours spent exploring valleys, climbing ruins, listening to party banter and making decisions that genuinely feel like they carry weight. It is not just big for the sake of scale, it is expansive in a way that constantly rewards attention. The greatest strength of Inquisition lies in its world and its characters. Thedas feels alive, not simply because of its size, but because of how much personality is woven into every region. Political tensions, cultural conflicts and personal struggles exist side by side, giving context to quests that could have easily felt like filler in another game. Your companions are not just combat roles, they are perspectives, values and emotional anchors, and over time it becomes hard not to care deeply about their stories. From a systems perspective, the game finds a smart balance between accessibility and depth. Combat blends action and tactical thinking well enough to support multiple playstyles, and the progression systems encourage experimentation without becoming overwhelming. Leading the Inquisition, expanding your influence and shaping the fate of the world gives a satisfying sense of ownership over the journey. Few RPGs manage to make you feel this involved in both the personal and political layers of their narrative. Visually, the game still impresses with its sweeping landscapes, dramatic lighting and strong art direction. Exploration rarely feels pointless because there is almost always a story fragment, a hidden challenge or a meaningful reward waiting just beyond the next hill. Even after dozens of hours, the game continues to offer moments of discovery that feel genuinely surprising. Inquisition is not flawless, and its ambition occasionally shows through pacing issues or uneven structure, but those imperfections fade in the face of how absorbing the overall experience becomes. What remains is a rich, emotionally engaging, content packed RPG that respects the player’s time by giving them a world worth getting lost in. By the end, it is hard not to see Dragon Age: Inquisition as a return to form and a statement of confidence. It delivers scale, heart, choice and consequence in a way that few modern RPGs manage to achieve, and it leaves you not just satisfied, but eager to return to Thedas again.

Dragon Age: Inquisition tries to do more of everything and this can be somewhat intimidating for a Dragon Age fan or for those who are worried they lack the time to invest in an open world RPG. The game is also starting to show its age and there are still bugs and graphical issues despite it being over a decade old. However, for the fans of Dragon Age, this is one I still recommend they persevere with since they'll be rewarded with memorable new characters, reunions with older characters, a game where you literally dictate the fate of Thedas and one of the best epilogues to be experienced in a AAA title.

Dragon Age Inquisition is an excellent game storywise but to get the full story you need to get the DLC bundle which still ages well, I still play this game from time to time as my favorite series. I gave a 9/10 because the combat and weapon/armor recipes could have actually used some updating but it is pretty old game now.

Inquisition is a very strange creature where I could rant for virtually hours about all of the facets of this game I genuinely dislike with a passion, and yet when it comes to it, I still enjoyed it. There's so much to be annoyed by. 1) Typical empty open-world RPG that gives me awful Ubisoft vibes and where "our map is so big and expansive!" really just means you'll be walking for 20 minutes through empty hills. 2.) Filler quests upon filler quests. I do not want objectives like "Collect 20 deer hides" in my Dragon Age games, particularly not as almost every single side quest. 3.) Say what you will about DA2, but it had genuinely original, creative ideas, and Inquisition throws them all out of the window. No more inventive, subversive plot; we're back to the generic Chosen One fantasy storyline. No more complex and nuanced politics and grey morality; we're back to clear-cut good guys and bad guys. 4.) The companions are good, some of them I even got genuinely attached to, but unlike DA2 I can never quite forget they're just characters on rails. DA2's companions felt like complicated people, people with emotions and conflict, a real core friend group that sticks around through the plot because they care about each other and that's what you do for your friends. Inquisition's companions, by comparison, feel like co-workers who are just there to pull the plot along. The fact that you can just skip recruiting multiple companions, or tell them to leave at any time, and have the story not feel different at all is very telling. 5.) I don't care about Solas, and the game hinges on you caring about Solas. In fact, it hinges on you caring about Solas so much that the entire sequel looks to also be hinged on you caring about Solas. 6.) They sold you the real ending of the game as paid DLC. 7.) Your race/background/class changes absolutely nothing about the game except for what essentially boils down to flavour text. 8.) It's nigh impossible to roleplay in this game. You could be an evil bastard in Origins and DA2. In Inquisition, your dialogue options boil down to "Good Guy", "Good Guy who jokes around", and "Good Guy who's blunt". You have absolutely no room to play around with any other motivations or personalities. 9.) There's so much grinding. So much. Plenty of people have compared this to MMO gameplay, and I concur; you have to put off the story quests all the time to run around doing your "Collect 20 deer hides", "Close 50 rifts", "Kill 10 darkspawn" type beats to gather enough Power points to progress with the next actually interesting thing. If it wasn't for the fact that I can mod that out on replays, I likely wouldn't have been able to force myself to get through the game more than once. 10.) The war table. Not the quests themselves, mind; a lot of the quests on there should have been full-fledged cutscenes with dialogue vs. text on a screen, and were clearly just relegated there due to a lack of effort, but they weren't unenjoyable to do. However, why are there arbitrary time limits in my single-player RPG? Why do I have to wait 12 real-life hours to progress with this war table mission in my single-player RPG? 11.) The animations are... questionable. The Inquisitor's "sad" and "scared" expressions just look like they're **** on a lemon. 12.) Combat feels clunky and clumsy. It's not as tactical as Origins, not as fast-paced and sharp as DA2, just... you firing arrow after arrow at someone, or very slowly swinging around a giant sword until something dies. I find it interesting that Inquisition was generally beloved upon release vs. Mass Effect: Andromeda being widely panned, because honestly I'd put them near enough in the same category when it comes to how they feel to play and the general quality. AND YET. After all that, I still like Inquisition. A disappointing Dragon Age game is still a good game. I've replayed it several times and enjoyed it, the soundtrack is beautiful, it has some of my favourite characters in fiction (Cole, Dorian, Josephine, and though I'm not quite as invested in him I found Blackwall's story arc genuinely fascinating and refreshing), and I cared about where everyone ended up and what ending I got. Like I said, a strange creature. Seriously, though, Bioware, start putting some damn effort into your hair selections in character creation. It's not difficult to add long hair. It's not. Every other company is managing it.

It's an average game showing it's age badly. The movement and combat is very janky and lifted right out of an MMO - tab targeting, right click to move camera, left click for basic attack and numbers for spells, you can't move while casting spells. The start is very difficult forcing you to do side quests to level up. The power system is also very MMO like and completely unnecessary, you're forced to do more side quests to get power to unlock the next mission. There is another system called influence and at 15 hours in I still don't know its purpose. Item interaction is shocking also. You have to be almost on top of a thing to interact with it, this is worse shown up when trying to collect loot after a battle. You have to run and stand over each loot pile and click on it, it's very slow to loot also and there is no autoloot. The mini map is terrible, it just shows points of interest on a black background. Might as well have arrows on the edge of the screen. The main map is difficult to read, roads aren't clearly marked and you can often find yourself at a dead end. Towns and outposts are laid out in completely bizarre ways. Like in the main hub there's no direct path to the war room, you have to run around the town to get to it. Inventory management is atrocious and takes too many clicks, you have a separate screen for weapons, armor, trinkets and upgrades for each character. Any merchant screen is also terrible, you can't see any stats of any item without hovering over the item. So if you want to sell all items below a certain level you have to hover over each item individually to check it before clicking sell. The story is bang average also. You're the chosen one for reasons yet to be determined and it's your job to save the world. Maybe this was a ground breaking game in it's time but by modern standards it's more frustrating than anything else.

Ten years hence, I leave my Dragon Age Inquisition review. If you're reading this now deciding whether to play, I'll have to caveat by saying that some features of the game have not aged well. Still, this is my 10/10 favorite game ever (including all three DLCs). No game has ever touched this one in terms of my enjoyment, even if individual aspects may have been executed better. 1. The story and the writing: Incredible characters who are believably of their world, a narrative that explores institutional power and religious faith in a fantasy setting deeply. 3 advisors, 9 companions comprise your inner circle. The world is incredibly immersive with top notch attention to detail in ambient dialogue, codex entries and notes. This game *still* makes my jaw drop, makes me weep, makes me cheer. 2. For a ten year old game it's still surprisingly gorgeous! I play on PC with my graphics set to Ultra now, but for years only ever played it on Xbox 3. Yeah, I know some people don't like it, but personally I love the open world. It's so lovingly crafted. Considering I've got a thousand hours in the game and have been playing off and on for ten years-- I am *still* discovering places I haven't been and quests I haven't done. 4. The crafting! If crafting is your bag, this is a fantastic game for it. You can gather to your hearts content and make powerful weapons and armors (or just stick with the dropped stuff, but I personally enjoy the crafting). 5. THE MUSIC. I'm not sure Trevor Morris had any right to go as hard as he did, but by god the music is one of the finest pieces of scoring to ever grace games/movies/tv. 6. The War Table! The time gating is kind of meh for me, but I loved how you could use your advisors to dispatch inquisition. I can recommend a few quality of life mods that I use but they are pretty minor: increased party banter, no looting animations, shorter war table missions. I did spend 8 years playing without mods pretty happily but it's nice to have some other hair mods. Anyway, highly recommend this game to other people who have the time to invest (my first playthrough was 140 leisurely hours, though most follow up playthroughs are about 70-80 hours) and who like to read and pay attention to the world the writers have created. Just top notch.

It’s lovely that spiteful people spend time here rather than out in the real world where only 0.6% of the population is transgender. There are more Cubans in the U.S. than trans people. The game was a blast, played thru it twice. Love the story, though once again making the DLC too important is a bad idea. Still, not here to review the DLC. The combat works, though not great. You’re really here for the story and the relationships and those for obvious reasons won this game a few GOTY awards.

Dragon Age Inquisition was my introduction to the DA series. I played it blind, not knowing anything about the series and was able to have a great time, but then I realized how much story I was missing and ended up playing Origins and 2 as well. The world was beautiful, the story engrossing, and the characters are some of my favorite in fiction ever. Inquisition is probably my favorite in the series just because I played it first, but it definitely has its issues, with the war table cooldowns and the fetch quests being the biggest ones.Fortunately I was able to mod out the war table cooldowns, so my experience the second/third/fourth time through the game was much faster.

Dragon age inquisition is probably one of the most boring game i've ever played, except there the story therewas nothing in the game tha was motiviting me to finish it. The gameplay is awfully repetitive and most of the quest (main and secondary) are equally. The game is also much longer than it should.

a disappointment in all respects, both as Dragon Age and as a game in itself. Bioware's usual attempt to try to follow the various current trends has led it to make a mixture that satisfies no one and has no personality. the gameplay is a bad hybrid. the maps huge and boring. of the story, just a couple of missions and the ending (which is sold separately) are good. the characters are bad. this game has nothing to offer, only boredom.

This is an all-around decent game. While I enjoyed playing it, I found it overstayed its welcome and has very little replayability for me. It took me about 90~ hours to complete with the three content DLCs, doing most of the side quests early on, giving up on doing them all roughly 2/3rds of the way through, and gave up on the Rifts entirely after the main story was done. For context, this is my first experience with a Dragon Age title, so I can't compare it to its predecessors. -The Good- - In my opinion, the graphics hold up pretty well for a decade-old game. - I enjoyed the story, It made up for all the negatives I'll list later. - Decisions matter to a degree, though a lot of it is flavour text. - Player Character feels meaningfully connected to the world, you don't just feel like an observer. - Many companions have fleshed out, meaningful stories. I cared about them to a degree, and most of them are well-written, even if they frequently annoy me (Sera). - Pretty good customisation in the character creator (except the hair, way too many of them are just bald with varying degrees of stubble) - Story progression feels earned. - High-intensity moments during the main quest (for the main story at least) feel high intensity, I contribute this largely to the music. - Music, particularly by the bard in Skyhold is nice and immersive. - Occasionally acknowledges past choices/dialogue and feels immersive even if its often flavour text. - I liked rebuilding Skyhold. -The Bad/Not So Good- - Movement feels heavy, clunky, bad. - Movement is especially bad in combat, feels like wading through sand. - In general, I do not like combat. I set it to as easy as possible just so I could be done with it faster and it still took forever. By late game with the build I chose (Knight Enchanter), I could just sit there holding down the button I bound to my sword (I play on controller) and do nothing else, maybe occasionally cast barriar or some other spell. - Some companion AI's are really bad. Particularlly Dorian, who seems to be under the impression he is a melee fighter, and Ironbull is also not great. - Glitches in companion AI (like just not moving. Or running away. Or just suddenly having no HP) were common. All around Companion AI is frequently hot garbage. - Almost egregiously repetitive, especially fade rifts. - Too many boss enemies have the constantly regaining guard gimmick. You bring down their health too much and they just spring up a ton of guard. It's demoralising and irritating when the combat isn't very entertaining to start with. - Imshael (idk it was on my cons list). - Too stretched out with filler. - Vital story content for the follow-up game is locked behind paid DLC (I got everything for free but it's still a weird move) - Mounts don't seem to be much faster than running, and your companions just disappear when on one so no companion banter. - Running animation, at least for female PC is comically dainty and light. - Employs the cheap auto-damage-when-you-go-somwhere-we-don't-want-you-to-go gimmick. Even if realistically, I should be able to survive that drop/jump, or standing in 2 feet of water. - Can get stuck in death/revive loops in some cases, where you can't potion or move before the enemy knocks a character down again. - Tactical camera can be jank. - Clearly not built for parkour but occasionally tries to implement it (and fails) - Actions don't really cancel when you tell a character to do something else. So it's near impossible to move a controlled character out of the way of an attack. - Ideal level not stated for non-main quests. - if climbing a ladder and someone slides down, you get LAUNCHED. - collection filler. - Invisible barriers at most random moments. - Areas with multiple geographical levels **** to navigate (Forbidden Oasis). - Leads a huge, powerful group with connections everywhere, still doing fetch quests. Conclusion: Liked the story, disliked multiple mechanics, get it on sale.

I enjoyed Inquisition. Not as much as Origins, but it's a rather nice game, with good interactions between the characters and a world that feels well written. It has both serious and very funny moments that kept me playing and the Combat system, with a mix of action and strategy, felt nice and I enjoyed it. Armors felt a bit too "shiny", as if they were made of translucid plastic, and I really did not like the villain, which is the main reason I'm giving it a 7, as it felt a bit shallow and lacking depth in both personality and motivation. The final fight was also a pretty big disappointment. I'll also say that it felt as if the game had a bit too many collectibles to find.

As a huge fan of Bioware since the beginning, this is by far one of the worst ever made. The combat is clunky and boring. The story is terrible. This game forces you to do side quests to even unlock the dlc. Origins story was incredible but clunky combat, DA2 story was alright but the combat was incredible. That's why I am very much enjoying Veilguard is it's story and combat. Inquisition was a complete waste of time

Pros: - Mythology: Ancient Gods and Goddesses, the Blight, and some other legends are explored in greater detail in this game, with some big surprises. - Story & Lore: It's a BioWare game. And even though it may fall short to Dragon Age: Origins or the Mass Effect trilogy, it offers an immersive tight plot and rich lore. - Dialog wheel: A neat upgrade from Dragon Age: II, with some special dialog options if you purchase Inquisition perks, e.g. 'ancient history'. Cons: - The 'war table' is atrocious. - Side quests mostly boring. - Horse controls are a nightmare. - Movement feels clunkier and less responsive than in Dragon Age: 2. - Open World is too big and boring - e.g. collecting shards is one of the most boring things I can imagine. - Few important decisions. - There are way too many characters in this game. They are somewhat well-written, but still much less unique and memorable than in Dragon Age: Origins. - Main antagonist is boring. - No ethical dilemmas are explored. The story is too linear. Where are the tough decisions, BioWare? - Collecting 'power' to unlock main story missions is boring. You are forced to do boring side quests. That might be just me, and I know this is going to piss off a lot of Dragon Age fans, but I also don't like the 'tactical' combat. I would love a more action-based combat system. 'Tacical' RPGs do their best to always remind you that you're simply playing a game. I want the gameplay to feel more like a cutscene - the more action-based and the more immersive, the better. This is why I loved Mass Effect 2 and 3, as well as Red Dead: Redemption 2. And more Dragon Age fans might kill me for this, but why, exactly, do I need to level up and control all 4 characters? In the end, it's the protagonist who makes all the in-game choices - YOU are the protagonist. You are NOT the NPCs. It ruins the immersion, having to manually control your party members for 'tactical' advantage. One major plus though - Inquisition is still much better than The Veilguard.

One of the best RPGs of all times. The story is simply mesmerizing, the plot twist at the end totally unexpected. They know how to make good deep character and get emotionally attached to them. This is more than a game, all this franchise of games are rooted in our hearts. Also visually stunning for the time.

WAY better than DAII, still short from DA:O, but it did get GOTY for a reason. If I gave DAII a 6, I have to stay somewhat consistent here, as this is a big improvement in gameplay, story, graphics, everything. This is why I gave DA:O a 10, see? DAII doesn't deserve less than a 5/6, DA:I doesn't deserve to be right next to DAII, and DA:O doesn't deserve to be right next to DA:I. Anyhow, I love this franchise, and I was happy to see DA:I as a bit of a return to form.

One of the best video games to have ever existed. It looks incredible, it feels and sounds incredible. Spectacularly design and a great campaign, the combat is methodical and fun which is suited for the dragon age series. Very open and explorable areas which all look incredible and are exceptionally well designed. Easily the best looking game that Is already a decade old and to this day it holds up to any other RPG of its kind. Even if the story or the writing is bad and whatever **** you might hear it doesn't matter because the game is great.

I have very mixed feelings about Dragon Age: Inquisition. The opening is extremely linear and doesn’t represent the rest of the game well. I also really dislike the 'chosen one' aspect of the main plot. Much of the game feels grindy, forcing you to complete repetitive, pointless tasks to earn an in-game currency (power), which is needed to unlock the more interesting quests. That said, some of the content, like the "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" storyline. Unfortunately, there isn’t much of this high-quality content, so it’s padded with tedious filler. At its best, this is a 9/10 game, but it's interspersed with 3/10 sections that you’re forced to slog through. While it's an open-world game, which lets you tackle these tasks in any order, you can't skip the filler entirely. The graphics and sound have aged incredibly well for a game that is now almost a decade old, and the soundtrack is great. Note: I played this game on the EA launcher, with the 'Skill Enhanced - Bugfixes and Tweaks", "Bugs be Gone", "Community patch" and "Nullify Fall Damage" patches. Whilst it is graphically superior, it is definitely the weakest of the three Dragon Age games released to date. I'm giving it a 6, but cant help feeling this should have been an 8. If they'd cut the lacklustre content they would have ended up with a shorter but much better game.

I feltlike this game was a reasonable return to form, from Bioware. Gone are the days when Bioware games were edgy, gritty and morally ambiguous but at least they told a fully flushed out story with good villeins and interesting companions. The combat is leaps and bounds better than DO2 but this isn't enough to make stand toe to toe with DAO. EA has firmly started to dilute the original product.

Fights are so boring, impossible to block or dodge an attack without using a special skill, characters are slow. In fact, the game didn't choose between a tactical game an an action game. So it's bad in both ways. Quests are a bit boring as well, too much FedEx types. And not enough skills to unlock for character in my opinion. How possible this game was GOTY?

no dash? no block? no parry? like nothing just go and die just what is this game? how is this game even GOTY? every time i try to play the game the game play gives me a headache because of how bad it is. finding loot in this game is by far the worst in any game i play and if anyone say hey take it easy its a 2014 game you should show them the witcher 3 from a year after and both of them are GOTY too although i cant even think how this game candidate of that. there are a lots of problems like the bad mini map and ui and bad performance in cut scenes and more i cant even count its problems. this game is one of the worst game or maybe the worst game i play in my life.

Controller support is so inconsistent as to not work at all. I've launched the game 6 times and it refuses to let me use a controller. The startup process is also really janky. This makes the game DOA on PC. What's the point of buying for the best platform where you get all the options if the **** options don't work? Even if I do get it working, it will probably have to be through Steam instead of Epic>EA, but failing at basic ability to play the game is a death score. Probably EA's fault, but knows. Also, **** whoever made this text input form. Jesus **** this site is awful.

I had a LOT of reservations to try this game because I had so much hatred for the second opus of dragon age. My heart was broken as the first one is one of my favorite games of all time. It took 10 years before I gave it a try, especially considering the mixed reviews of the game. I was pessimistic but the story, the characters and the journey as an inquisitor took me where I did not expect. It is a good game. The lore and the political intrigues are nuanced and immersive, your impact is satisfying and the characters feel fleshed out. The downside is the immensity of the game and the amount of side quests that are not essential. It is pleasant to visit the many areas but if I'm honest, it's better to cherry pick what you want and ignore the rest.
