Wizardry 8

I bought Wizardry 8 in the day for full price. I never regretted it. I only give 8 points, because the game was never finished, at least the game balance was not. The simple, but functional, 3D graphics are still working with MS-Windows 11 and you can still look at them. And the best part is the characters development. Go for power cast and power strike! From the extrem melee RFS-81 to the glass cannon mage, you get the full traditional RPG range.

This is a review of Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.3 from 2025. Read the novell Neuromancer from William Gibson, imagine a shooter/melee fighter/stealth game of the topic and you get Cyberpunk 2077. The overall story is very linear: you live, kiss and die, very film noir. If give Cyberpunk 9 points, because it is one of the few games I completed. The reason for a second play through is not the story, the RPG part of the game, but another play style like stealthy netrunner versus gun blasing berserk versus katana Kill Bill versus bullet time Matrix, called Sandevistan. Worst of all is the quality of driving a car. Sluggish, not feeling real at all. Riding a motorbike is much better. Racing the badlands is fun. Sometimes the games freezes/crashes still, but you lose only some minutes of gameplay.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

I played original Oblivion for many hours. The remaster feels the same. I assume 200 hours of good entertainment. Hair and fur display or face animation could be better with Unreal 5 game engine. Still, graphics is better: more shadows, ray tracing, better textures.

I have 37 battles on my Lord of the Dead clock. I like this game! I bought it by sheer chance for a low price, and it made "click" with my brain. I have no problems to select a good strategy for my party. This is fun. I have heard that Iratus is only a clone of "Darkest Dungeons". The drawing style in Iratus is colorful, not doom and gloom as in Darkest Dungeons.

I played Veilguard for 8 hours now on PC (AMD 3300X CPU, Nvidia 3060 12GByte GPU). I like the good graphics, specially nice face animations, on low power hardware. The player answers are narrowed to positive or neutral. Evil playthrough is not possible. Replay value may be little. The companions are well written in a shallow way and do nice chitchat on the way. This is popcorn entertainment for a fair price of 60 Euros.

I waited for the NextGen version of 2024 for my playthrough. I think the game is better then the reviews. Careing for "the people" in my settlements is "Sims like". My player character has two fighting styles, sniper and melee. I like that I can develop my avatar in both directions. The companiens are different: a dog, a supermutant, a synth, a human, robots. I don't like the wooden face animations and the textures. But first this is still a 2015 game and the the visuals are - for me - not important. Different quests, good speakers, deep story is more important. Thumbs up!
