Despite it's 90s vibes (exploration, level design and funny worlds), Clive 'N' Wrench does not achieve its quality. It has an unfair hitbox and the couple has not a good gameplay and movement feeling.

As for right now though I cannot recommend this to anyone when better games trying to for the same things are readily accessible, cheaper, and more successful at doing being a 3D platformer.

I genuinely feel rather bad going on and on about the game's flaws, but the most exceptional thing about Clive 'N' Wrench is the effort that went into bringing it into existence. I'd love to say that it's a great, or even a good, game, but it's pretty unexceptional even by the standards of low-budget indie 3D platformers. There just isn't anything to recommend this game on its own merits, and it is buggy enough that it's hard to even recommend it as a curiosity.

A game with many glitches and errors, and even sort of ugly graphics, but when those are put aside, this is a fun platformer anyone who enjoys colectathons needs to play. Although rough around the edges, the minor glitches and graphical errors didn't make this game any less fun of a time. Definitely overpriced at launch although, which is what I bought it for.

Proceed with caution. This game is filled to the brim with problems. There's fun to be had, yet there are so many questionable design choices that I can't recommend this game in good faith. The controls are poor, it's ugly, the level design is confusing, all the sounds in this game feel generic and there are so many bugs. But the absolute worst though, the pacing is completely off. It's either braindead easy or so painfully hard it stops being enjoyable. The only good thing about it is that the areas are fun to explore. Once gone through them though is enough for me and using a guide without going crazy is absolutely necessary. This game got a very alpha feel to it, a first draft of some sort. It by no means feels like a product that is almost 30 bones. Even at half price (which I paid for) it feels like too much.

With loads of moreish worlds to explore and a lot of charm, Clive ‘N’ Wrench is a real treat for fans of 90s era 3D platformers.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench is a love letter to 90s nostalgia and 3D platforming. It gets a lot right but falls short of providing the intended experience due to needless bugs and glitches.

I do not think that this game is entirely bad or a complete mess, but it is the missed potential that stings. It is a plea to sometimes take a step back and fundamentally understand what your work should be about. Sure, there is enjoyment to be had, but much like a fast food meal I will not be thinking about Clive ‘n Wrench much in the future.

Since they fell out of vogue, I'm always excited to see a new 3D-platformer, no matter the shape or form. Clive 'N' Wrench isn't my favourite of the genre, far from it. But props to Dinosaur Bytes Studio for throwing their hat in the ring. I'm keen to see what they get up to in hopefully less than ten years.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench is not a good game, there is no way around that. When the Switch is home to some of the greatest 3D platformers ever made, Clive ‘N’ Wrench stands out for all the wrong reasons. From terrible controls to poor visuals and performance, we're sad to say that there is very little redeemable about the game on Switch. The entire project feels like a glorified demo made for a game design class, rather than a completed project that belongs on store shelves. The attempt is admirable, but after a decade's worth of development, Clive ‘N’ Wrench turned out as an incredible disappointment. With so many other ways to get your 3D collectathon platforming fix on Switch, your time and money are best spent elsewhere.

I got to try out the new Clive and Wrench by Numskill games, their first stab into platforming, and from what I saw, they have a really good idea on how to make a fun, easy to play game. Sure there are performance issues, and the graphics arent something to scream home about BUT and a huge BUT (heh) Clive'N'Wrench does something not many recent platformers do. Remind you of the better times, and have so many similarities to the platformer classics, like Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter! You get silly puns, you get some interesting characters and really cool level designs, however these are quite basic but definitely a brilliant start for this if they were to continue making this kind of game. There is oddness when there is no speaking dialogue (but im a **** for audio) and it does just stick you in the deep end with very little pointers or ingame cut-scenes to help you understand where you are in the game, However theres more throwbacks and references than you can shake 2 sticks at! For example 'Plonkers' in ref to Conkers bad fur day, Theres a rabbit running around with a treasure (like in spyro with a dragon egg thief) In the london town theres even someone who bought something from a 'Trotter' no doubt an Only fools and Horses reference. On a whole I really enjoyed my time on Clive'N'Wrench and hope that the franchise continues, or updates come to fix a few Quality of life improvements that would help the game so much. Clive 'N' Wrench is a 3D platformer starring Clive, a rabbit, and Wrench, the literal monkey on his back. Your adventure takes you hurtling through time and space in a 1950's refrigerator on a heroic quest to thwart the tyrannical Dr Daucus and stop his evil plans.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench has a lot of potential but is too buggy to complete. The camera has a mind of its own and in “platform” sections where the camera locks to side scrolling, I generally find myself missing the front of platforms as the player movement is still in 3 dimensions. I’ve also had to restart in several section as the player animation gets stuck in “hanging” and I can’t move or get stuck on a ledge. Clipping graphics, getting randomly catapulted across levels, this is only the tip of the bug iceberg and have had many other weird things happen. It’s a shame as I really wanted to like this game.
