The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is the best the game has ever been, with excellent quality-of-life upgrades and exclusive Nintendo Switch 2 features that make it the best platform to enjoy the game on.

RuneScape Dragonwilds takes everything I love about Jagex's world and progression and turns it into a wonderfully rewarding experience. Its exploration, crafting, combat, and base-building make even the smallest tasks feel meaningful. Dragonwilds is an easy game to lose yourself in.

Not only is Dave the Diver well-suited for mobile, but the execution of the port does the quirky and diverse game justice, keeping controls simple and effective. Despite the drain on your phone battery and the very occasional hiccup, this is a great port. The addition of orientation changing is great for tablets, too.

Garfield: Escape From Monday is pure platforming joy, featuring the dry wit that the orange cat is known for, along with vibrant levels that are great fun to wander through. However, the voice of Garfield does let the game down.

Dragon Quest XI S Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition is, as the title suggests, the definitive way to play the Luminary's story on the Nintendo Switch 2. It delivers a phenomenal story and entertaining gameplay alongside a host of features and quality-of-life additions that feel like a celebration of the series as a whole.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is a true colossus of a game, almost always for the better, but occasionally for the worse. The core strategy gameplay is varied and engaging, most of the new ideas work, and the narrative is unprecedented in terms of scope. There’s more admin than I like, and the lack of multiple save files and bird interactions can be frustrating, but outside of that, I doubt I’ll play a better game in 2026.

Valheim is a hard game, but a really fun time. The Switch 2 performance may not be spotless, but it's good enough for sailing over the sea for a while. You can plant some seeds and breed some boar, then you can get absolutely smashed by huge trolls and "The Forest" when it decides to move, all while having a great time doing it.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition runs really well on the Switch 2, bringing the masterful RPG to both new and existing players on a fresh platform. With both the base game and DLC included, along with the extra classes and weapons, Tarnished Edition is the definitive way to enjoy the game.

Orbitals injects sci-fi charm and 90s anime nostalgia into the growing genre of modern couch co-op games. While the story is a little slow, it oozes style and is a relaxing and entertaining way to spend some time with a friend.

What could be a genuinely fun farming and life sim is clouded by performance so poor that it rivals that of the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy. In the year since the Nintendo Switch 2 launched, Starsand Island is easily the most shoddy piece of work I've played on the system, and it's simply inexcusable. Right now, it's not worth your hard-earned money.
