The games controls were sloppy. Graphics can use some polish but the story was good and engaging. It was short so I was able to tolerate it in the 6 hrs of playing just to see where the story went and it did have a good ending. If it was not for the god awful controls this game could have been a diamond in the rough

We need horror platformer games like this one. I like it because I loved Little Nightmares. Bramble was also a great experience with a great atmosphere and story. Definitely worth playing.

Nice soundtrack, nice graphics, nice story. Cinematic. After the first half, somewhat clunky boss fights and few places, but not very annoyingly.

Clunky controls, many moments of instant fail, very linear, quite short. Decent art, good atmosphere, mediocre story.

+ Beautiful art direction and graphics. + Engaging and very atmospheric world building and story. + Easy game mechanics. - Questionable game design that will test your patience. - Incredibly slow in parts. Bramble took me around 5 hours to complete. It's a good weekend game when you have no other plans. Its charm relies in the atmosphere, music, general vibe. But it's also one of those games that despite having very easy mechanics gets incredibly frustrating as you will die over and over and over and over again. Generally you'll know exactly what to do (with a couple of exceptions) but executing it will feel more like a matter of luck than skill. Edges that should be blocked are not. You'll fall a lot. Jumps that should not kill you will actually kill you, so your experimentation is often met with some unexpected result, mostly a negative one. Gameplay just feels undercooked. The last boss is the best example of that. You'll fall, you'll get hit out of nowhere, you'll repeat it 20 times and eventually you'll beat it if you stick to it. You won't get good, you'll just get lucky. Maybe your luck will come on the first attempt, who knows. Lastly for trophy hunters beware this will be a headache as one of the trophies requires a playthrough without dying. I feel like a game with such a trophy needs to have tightly designed gameplay, which this game does not. So I would say trophy hunters stay away.

people who say this game is disgusting have not experienced much in life and are mentally limited. It is this ugliness and suffering that something in this game is supposed to tell us something not every game is for every player... we should not judge the game by our emotions but rather judge the game objectively many people find it difficult.... The game is brutal but also beautiful and it is the only game for many years apart from the last of us in which I lived and showed myself emotions that I have not seen in people for a long time... Thank you for this game...

This game is awful the story is probably written by a psychopath, how do u make a child stab a person 10+ times that’s sick I don’t how this game isn’t bad for this sick story. Gameplay is awful don’t recommend at all even a person with no soul wont play this game

For some reason the authors decided that they have talent, but the game is disgusting in all aspects: story, gameplay, controls, visuals, and so on.

An absolutely beautiful game spoiled by one thing: "lack of restraint." Incredibly talented people made this game, and it starts out in a state of absolute wonder. Impeccable world and character design! I was loving every minute of it. Everyone keeps comparing this game to "Little Nightmares" but it plays and feel a lot more like "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons" - one of my favorite games of all time. However, as you have probably read elsewhere the game gets dark. Which is okay. But the darkness becomes overly gratuitous and literally satanic about halfway through. The general story is about a boy trying to save his sister and while the game stays on this story thread it is great, but then, suddenly, it takes this odd, out of place turn where the boy goes on a crusade to save a baby from a witch. Incredibly disturbing satanic imagery of goats, the occult and witchcraft present. It all felt very out of place from a strictly narrative perspective and pulled me out of the experience. Feels like the developers shoved this segment into the game because of their need to push darkness and the modern trope/fascination with the occult, but this baby sacrifice chapter in particular should have been left on the cutting room floor as it is distracting, overly disturbing and does not serve the story. And generally, this would have been a much stronger game if the gratuitous gore had been implied and not shown (like Little Nightmares does so well). Like I said, this is a beautiful adventure full of childlike wonder spoiled on occasion by the lack of restraint from the developers wanting to "shock" the player with blood, guts and Satanic imagery instead of tastefully presenting the darkness to the player's imagination. I have deleted the game after playing as the Satanic imagery in particular was a step too far. And I love these types of games generally. A real missed opportunity.

Beautiful, haunting and magical. In a world of multimillion dollar budgets and AAA studios, the truth of the matter is games like this, lovingly curated by small studios, turn out to be the most memorable. Bramble 2 please.

This game os great ! The graphics are amazing . The art style is so good . The game take you to a journey ypu will never forget. I had so mutchfun and good time to play thos amazing game . Hope another games will come out like this one .

An amazing game. Amazing story, amazing gameplay and a fun ride. This game is one of the best games I've ever played. It's a great story, and the feel of the game is something that comes easy to those playing it. Great graphics and easy to pick up.

This is an incredible story.I heard it was a good game,but, to be honest,Bramble became one of my favorites. The combination between magic, horror and folklore is fantastic.

Gorgeous graphics, fitting soundtrack and decent narration. Controls are serviceable but the journey almost never allows the player to venture off its strictly linear path. There are next to no secrets to be found along the way save for 11 figurines, which could have added some much needed exploration to this direly straightforward adventure. The game’s camera is restricting in that it is fixed and won't accommodate areas the player cannot go. The stages are also restricting with invisible walls. These limitations often force the player down a single path in one of the most linear modern video games I have played. It borrows from Little Nightmares and God of War at times but in a good way. I wish load times weren't so long on PS4, however the character does respawn quickly with no load times to speak of. I cannot stress how beautiful this game is. The music really stands out at times, especially a couple of songs with female vocals. The boss fights really ramp up in the latter half of the game but never so challenging for me to rage quit. The puzzles were also pretty easy. The dark themes of Nordic folklore were all well presented. Even with its shortcomings, I was compelled to see this story to the end. I probably spent around 8 hours in total on my first playthrough between dying and searching for collectibles.

beautiful, mysterious game but for me completely spoiled by tedious bosses. I eventually gave up after wasting one too many hours trying to beat one of the harder ones. A pity.

Short and different kind of game. It takes about 5 hours to beat. You'll probably die many times but most times you'll respawn right before you died. As you can't change difficulty you'll also find a few bosses a bit challenging but, nothing that you cannot beat overtime. The first hour or so is like a fairy tale kind of game but it becomes darker, darker. Not a game for kids, that's for sure. It's rating +18 but honestly, teenagers of 16 years old could play this game and probably some of around 12-13. I think this game deserve a rating of 6-7. It's not a bad game but it's not a mindblown game either.

Same genre as Little nightmares,story is really enjoyable, overall gameplay is ok, visuals is rather really goodthx to Unreal engine

I'm just not a fan of this trend in indiegaming. The cinematic side scrolling platformers like Planet of lana, Somerville, Inside, Little nightmares etc. Where everything you do is walk right, left and climb. It doesn't matter how awesome the graphics and art direction is, the fundamental problem lies in the simplistic, shallow gameplay of these titles. The easy solution would be deeper gameplay mechanics, better combat and enemies to fight along the way, fun distractions like "fishing" or interact with more objects. And it's perplexing.. why the hell not? It would make bramble the greatest cult indie darling ever. Instead it's just another "gorgeous art direction over gameplay" type of game" without much replay value. This is generally fine by me, but it's not fine when every single game aping little nightmares with slight variations.

I'm so ashamed it took me as long as it did to play this game. I assumed it would be a rip-off of Little Nightmares but instead, Bramble: The Mountain King makes it own voice, style, mood, and visuals to keep the player engaged like no folklore game has. It did exactly what I hoped it would do by exploring the folklore, which was made horrifying in gameplay and included the original tales that inspired the game/levels. The story combines multiple folklore into one tale that lasts about 4 hours. This was a creepy, easy puzzle-solving heavy, dark tale of a young boy searching for his kidnapped sister in a sinister forest of creatures. I can't wait to see what they make next! If they just made more games that explored folklore, I would be down.

До чего же красочный и атмосферный днбют получился у разрабов. В лучших традициях Playdead и Tarsier Studios. Чего не скажешь о геймплейной и технической состовляющей. Они вышли явно слабее первых пунктов. Плюс: самая концовочка слегка подкачала скомканностью и толикой ядовитого пафоса в постановке. В прочих достоиствах: умопомрачительный визуал и местами неожиданно хорровые сегменты, которых я не ожидал. А ещё качественный звук и чарующая музыка. И идеальная продолжительность для подобных проектов.

If you like little nightmares, then this is a must buy. A fantastic game with some platforming, stealth and fantastic grim-like horror characters. Going into it was not what I expected and I am completely satisfied with what I played and only wish it was longer or comes out with some form of DLC soon! A game from a non-AAA studio like this just shows how much these developers put into creating a fantastic game. Do not rest on this game, buy it!

Bramble is a very good indie game which is heavily inspired by games such as Little Nightmares where you control a small boy named Olle in a Quest to find his Sister. The game takes you in unique areas that are well designed. Whats fascinating is that the game has plenty of enemies that are taken directly from the Nordic Folklore. The boss encounters are all very unique and different. The only main negative in my opinion is that weird Hit-boxes which is nothing a small patch cant fix. Overall is a great experience which i believe is worth your time

I thought this game was incredibly boring unfortunately. The story and theme were enjoyable - it’s why I bought it and I imagine why it has any audience at all - but that’s about it. It’s just pushing the character along a predetermined path with occasional “puzzles” that were no barely a challenge. I’ve sunk a few hours into it hoping it will pick up speed at some point but it all feels like like an extended tutorial. Movement is slow, controls are extremely limited, it becomes boring quickly. I regret paying full price for this. Do yourself a favor and get something like Little Nightmares, Inside, or Limbo instead. Sorry, but this one just wasn’t it for me.

Little Nightmares eat your heart out, is What I would say if some of the graphics and dead eyes of characters weren't a factor. however when the game pulls out and reveals the beauty and terror from Folk Lore brings in a great feeling of dread and overcoming both physical and psychological trauma. The story is solid and reminds me of the Little Nightmares odyssey and would recommend for folks looking for a short low stakes gameplay. I love my platforming and some of the jumping can be tricky.

It was fun. It wants to be Little Nightmares but is far inferior. Still, sometimes it was good. The fights are ridiculous and often too hard and grindy, but you can get through them by finding the trick by pure trial and error. I did finish the game. The final boss battle was almost insultingly narrow but it was the last one so ok i guess. Way overpriced at $30. About 1/2 the price of a premium game and 1/10 the content or less.

It's a hidden gem, I don't have the exact words to describe this true work of art, just know if you play it for sure you'll love it. It has incredible graphics, great sound and an interesting narrative. In addition, the design of the enemies are memorable.

This is a great little indie title focused on nordic folklore. First thing the graphics and art direction are top notch. The character designs are creepy and effective. Another high point is the music and sound design. It really elevates the game. In addition all the boss encounters are a highlight. All were quite unique and fun. One last point I want to make is this game is quite savage and gorey. I don't mind it, but if you're sensitive to that sort of thing this may not be up your alley. A game very similar to this is Little Nightmare. If you liked those games than you will probably like this. My only real complaint is the game is quite short. You can easily beat it in a day as it clocks in around 6 hours. But this was a nice change of pace after Jedi Survivor. Really looking forward to their next game!

For an Indie game im once again blown away by this game. Its a must play. The protagonist looks like a 10yr old julian assange, not the best looking character but thats just me. Very scary game by the way, the character creations give me goosebumps and the story is narrated perfectly. Combat is very very mild but thats not the point of the game, the visuals and the world they put the player in are beautiful. I love playing with a headset and just soaking in the calm relaxing music while having a cold beer or a glass of wine kicking my feet up and chilling with this game. If you loved indie games like Stray, Dredge, Weird West, And Man Eater then you'll have fun with this game.

It's good. Worth a playthrough but halfway through I found myself wanting to move on to another game. Gave it a 5 because I think it's being updated when at best it's a 6.

This game gave me so many good vibes from just the preview images on the PS Store, that I got it day one, without watching trailers, gameplays, or anything else. Glad I did it, and played it without knowing anything. Survival horror at its finest, thanks to its setting. Managed to cared me, and made me feel very uncomfortable countless times. The Story is a bit short, got the plat in 9 hours, including the brutal no-deaths speedrun, but beautiful and well written. Level design is good and every area is kinda unique, although the mechanics are simple, but what I loved the most are the bosses. At least two of them have better design and mechanics than 90% of the one I faced in many other AAA games. Maybe with a 2/3 hours longer story, and a couple of other boss fights, it'd have been perfect for my tastes. But I won't complain, I look forward to dlcs, sequels, or other projects from this talented studio!
