Invincible (2021): Season 49
Apr 22, 2026
Great Season and Great performances. the Pacing goes lightning fast you have to rewatch a bunch of the episodes. Despite the sidequest episode of Invincible going to Hell, the story slows for a bit until it send you to the deepest parts of the story. Like more serialized shows, they always got to leave you hanging, but I'm on board for whatever crazy stories happens in the future.

Blew me Away. How can a show based on an Anime be so much fun and avoid the western influences of Most streaming shows that make everything gritty. This one is a fun Pirate adventure that is not afraid to pull punches on the absurd. Adventure, Friendship and Alliances that go beyond conventional barriers. Enjoy this show simply as a fantasy adventure that knows how to lean into fantasy.

Stranger Things: Season 57

Overall good conclusion to the 10 year 5 season run show that really stretched the plot of the upside down. After the first couple seasons, it began to feel stale since they could only count on expanding the story, rather than adding new elements. This season added a great reveal to the upside down and how it works with the town and the monsters at their door. I really would have liked the show better if they allowed the cast to shine on their own rather than rely on Eleven for everything. The final episode goes up there with the greatest episodes of the series and while other reviews wanted more, we got a nice wrap up of many of the core kids losing out on a normal childhood and opens the door to adventure.

Masterclass is expanding the source material. I really enjoyed how tv shows expanding the source material gives great liberties and the 2017s team is back and throwing everything at this series that took King's "Castle Rock" old show and really giving it the theatrical treatment. You wouldn't be able to get away with half of the stuff in movies that this show throws at you. good job

Great Show that kinda asked the question. "What if invasion of the body snatchers won." Then continues to tell a story from the lone survivor who happens to be immune. The Plot feels like it's trying to make something out of a story that already has been told. So in Vince style of storytelling, making the mundane interesting, will be the biggest test of this season. They threw a lot of money to a show that still has me curious, but not yet intrigued.

Very Good story and a great re introduction to a beloved character. I could not stop watching and each episode felt like the cliff hangers of great shows in the past. best of all it doesn't supplement a second season as it stands alone and allows for more stories. excited for season 2 and those John Wick boys know what they're doing with Sam Fisher. I just hope they have a Kojima "Metal Gear" reference.

The Show was a bit meh and I'm glad the foreshadowing paid off for many of the creatures in the show, but the main cast could barely keep it going. As a big fan of Noah Hawley, this is one of his weakest series adaptations as he had a lot to prove with Fargo and a low bar with X-men's Legion. I was impressed with the use of special effects and behind the scenes. The story is interesting, but never really pays off and suffers the streaming curse of more show and waiting for even more show. should have ended it with a nice bow like his other series that was an anthology. This and the fact that Raised by wolves, had great first seasons from the filmmaker Ridley Scott, but the plot kinda got away from the story.

I believe in Mike Judge. He has managed to bring back a show that has a lot of impact on my generation and frankly speaking, is a gem. However like Hank himself a perfect score leaves little room fro improvement. I like everything about this series from the surprise characters and the excitement I got from getting all the feels with some of the pains of putting on an old pair of pants. little tight, but still fits.

Diminishing returns are always prevalent in the sequels and this one had a major pacing problem from start to finish. I personally think they lacked on many of the action set pieces in lieu of the story which was pretty lacking already and kinda fumbled the end as the more engaging second part saved for season 3. I really hope they try to solve the pacing issues and Abby's story is the meat of the second game overall, the story of ellie was cut and speedrun with the promise of a better future.

Andor8
May 21, 2025
Honestly one of the more thought provoking Star Wars Series in a crowd of whoosh whoosh lightsabers. Essentially this time around was more Andor focused as opposed to their first season which built a world beyond the Skywalker clan. Many people tell me that this is a slow burn and frankly that is always the excuse for people who don't want to admit something is boring. However this series will stand as a testament to storytelling. from the rich characters to storylines that don't quite end, but live on beyond imagination. While the main cast is going into the Rogue One movie from 10 years ago, the story built only serves to bolster to story beyond the trilogy.

Man! the Vice President is such a **** Yeah, I'm all on board for this show that has a pretty good round-a-bout way of telling their story and ultimately showing the worst sides of humans and the demons they fight. The action is solid and the animation is top notch, but there is always a pacing issue when you start small and go too big too quickly resulting in cliché after cliché. Overall Good, but it's IP of monster beat em up is pretty straight forward with the Nod to the early 2000s era.

Severance: Season 27
Mar 22, 2025
Generally great show from the start with plenty of carrots and moments that make you go, "Wait! What!" as we have a show that does more show than tell, we also have the rare followup where the second season manages to have a solid start, but as they peel the onions back the tears aren't there on par with Season 1. as you might have seen from season 1 the Innies broke out for roughly an hour into a world that offered them a glimpse into the world of the outside world. While the fallout gets quickly undone to bring back the principle cast to square one. However as the season progresses they begin to break down the status quo and begin to unravel the mysteries and dump a whole lot of information all at once for a race to the finish. However like most shows, they got to leave room for more show and while this season opened doors and eyes of the characters involved, the season felt more like season 1 trying to be cool, while not being it's own thing like season 3 is being teased to be.

Invincible (2021): Season 37
Feb 8, 2025
Hits Hard in the right places, but some of the melodrama is getting a bit old with some of the characters who feel out of place in service of Invincible's plot which takes too much time apart from season 1 which was able to balance characters more. There is decline and I hope they stop holding a carrot over the audience and get things going. EDIT: just finished the season and feel pretty much the same as my score initially. I liked more than I thought, but pacing was all over the place and it had a lot of focus issues while the Pathos and Plot remained intact. Overall I would be weary going into the next season as the "Strong" Finish felt weaker than other seasons, while they pull a marvel and hold that carrot for the next season, again.

Squid Game: Season 29
Dec 27, 2024
As with the first season this season had a lot going against it. Much like many "Battle Royale" and "Hunger Game" type of movie, the first ones are always the statement and the follow-ups become a mess of storylines that try to work it out as a survival horror, but the focus on this one is shown at the beginning with "Bread and Lottery" showing people would rather risk it all for one big payday then take care of their own well being. This thread, while on the nose, becomes the overarching Pathos for the characters the Director/Creator is trying to convey. A Great follow-up that directly targets the ills of society and the lengths people will go to get their big payday.

Arcane: Season 110
Dec 18, 2024
Perfect Series, You have Pathos for every character and understand why they do what they do. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a series with a great cast and great story about betrayal and political intrigue that affects the people of Piltover. This tale of Two Cities really shows how many people live vs the many who have to survive off their scraps come to a head in a story that could have been too preachy, but it follows the frustrations of, "You can do everything right and still fail." The kind of storytelling that brings all walks of life together.

First Half: Like any Anthology it has many shorts that stand alone, but together, they risk the overall thread which makes the series look weak compared to "Love, Death and Robots." The Pac-Man episode took a lot of liberties with the source material and a couple games I never heard of were cute, but Sifu, Warhammer 40k, New World, (armored Core had potential) were my top Three before the Hype of Megaman begins to wain. Second Half: After the extremely tight Mega-man short(er than the rest), we contended with pretty forgetful shorts with the stand out being Outer Worlds, which brings a Fallout type of charm in a dystopian world. The Concord looks as expensive as the game they tried to launch earlier, but the rest were pretty bland. without Mega-Man this second half would be nothing, but as a **** is a Whole lot of garbage and shameless branding of video game adaptations that have more misses than hits.

Jentry Chau vs The Underworld9
Dec 13, 2024
Surprisingly Good and when I heard Ali Wong had her fingerprints on it I was thrilled to see the overarching storytelling that she took from Beef. This is very much like the Anime of the 90s where they took liberties that 4Kids had to censor for.I found myself feeling the feels on this one. Not one to sit on.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft3
Oct 11, 2024
Yeah, No thanks. This show was way to easy to throw it on in the background as I scrolled through my phone and I'd look up and Laura would be dealing with her trauma throughout the series making it less adventure and more therapy session through tomb raiding.

The Penguin8
Sep 24, 2024
Props to the Design and the acting by the lead paves the way to a nice crime drama with plenty of twists and turns to keep the audience engaged throughout this BatmanLess tale of Organized crime featuring the lower boss, The Penguin, as he chooses to become the man the series knows him to be. However much like DC and MCU this series has a lot going against it because simply put if you approach this as a crime drama with buzz named characters than you will not be disappointed.

House of the Dragon: Season 26
Aug 8, 2024
Welp they fell into the last year of streaming shows where they supplement the next season rather than standing alone. if it wasn't for a really strong 1st season this might have gone down as the worst. I really liked the story telling and how they were leading to something, I just didn't know they'd rely on season 3 to get there. good luck moving forward, but you start off with a 1st season adapting a fast paced/time skipping season to a tit for tat, poking the dragon, season.

Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 26
Jul 5, 2024
Not the worse followup, but it could have easily avoided the pitfalls of long form story telling with plenty of side quests. everything worked the way you'd expect, but the finale left an interesting platform for seasons moving forward, but like most shows that are trying to sell another season, tease tease tease that you'll give the audience what they want, eventually. I would suggest that the show should try to stand on their own in storytelling because these star trek shows tend to write themselves into a corner when they introduce time travel. I'm biased because once a show/movie does time travel, the creative clock begins to tick. Pun intended.

House of the Dragon9

Loved the first season even more than how the second season is pacing itself. from the first half of building tension to the conclusion, the first season is strong as any other early iterations of Game of thrones. Even though we're stuck with the same people throughout the series, their compelling journeys keep me wanting more and I hope season 2 doesn't slow the pace down as we are half way through the second season as i write this.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds9
Jul 3, 2024
a Near perfect show that takes elements of the original and imports the high concept storytelling I've come to love from the Next Generation which tends to paint issues as black and white, but allows the characters to go beyond and come up with strange new solutions. I cannot say enough good things about this show, but it does have its pitfalls from characters who feel like their story HAS to be told rather than building their story into the greater enterprise.

Star Trek: Prodigy7
Jul 3, 2024
Good story for the kids to get introduced to a whole new cast of explorers who for lack of traditional settings and story telling makes this a star wars adjacent adventure show with the backbone of Star Trek Lore and further world building beyond the enterprise. The unexpected is important, but this show tends to have a major overarching plot that reminds me of the streaming type of storytelling, but with original episodes to keep the audience engaged to see what happens to our rag tag group of children trying to prove themselves, while balancing consequences for actions and inaction which makes Star Trek Great as a catalyst to the best humans and humanoids can be.

The Boys: Season 46
Jun 14, 2024
We're Back and this ain't no dinosaur story, but it is pretty reserved considering the first three episodes where the big stunt this time around seems to be saving it for later episodes. I love seeing these characters back again with the interesting character dynamics unfold further as the Boys deal with the fallout of Butcher's timeline and the Homelander's foray into fatherhood and legacy, but So far the story does nothing but set up the next season. Much like bad beginnings for some shows and rushed endings for others we run the risk promising a "Better Season" without standing strong alone. overall the season was decent, but tiring at times

Star Wars: Tales of the Empire5
May 5, 2024
The second half is strong, but overall they relied on covering one of the least interesting characters in star wars. Looked beautiful, but not so much about the empire as it was following the basic, “keep it jedi,” approach to everything star wars. I felt the tales of the jedi were pretty solid and overall lacks compared to the collective creativity to Star Wars Visions.

Shogun (2024)8
Apr 26, 2024
I believe this series is something that is too big to really cover as much ground as it did. If you are lloking for a Game of Thrones type of story with action and fantasy, then this one is not for you. Violence, like the characters are treated very quick and brutal as one moment a character would be close to death whether by the nature of their position or simply manipulation of people for ones own ends. This one is very well done in terms of content, but when you think about it some episodes serve as 80 percent killer and 20 percent filler.

Fallout8
Apr 17, 2024
Visually Stunning with practical effects in the backdrop of yet another post apocalyptic world. This show had a joyful tone in a series of Dire situations that put protagonists, antagonists and more at a head. The best thing about this show is the moral gray areas and those lines being questioned and crossed, often with comedic effect. Overall the mid section could have used some punching up and the overarching plot seemed to overshadow the characters individual journeys meeting with SNL alums along the way.

Had a Really Good Start, but as we continued, like most games I play once you get overpowered you can only see the same reaction to his powers through the other characters for so long. I am not the biggest fan of these kinds of shows, but this one is interesting because it took a Korean Webtoon and created and Japanese Anime through the source material. Visually stunning even if the plot is becoming much to be desired.

Invincible (2021): Season 28
Apr 5, 2024
From the start of this season I knew we were in for quite the ride with dramatic beats from betrayal to potential reconciliation with the Father Son Duo. I was impressed by the season from beginning to end with the last two episodes spending too much time on future plot building. I was impressed with many of the storylines throughout, but the beginning set up a major bad guy, Angstrom, that worked from a character standpoint, but when they interact with Invincible things got a little detached from the overall plot which takes center stage towards the end while other characters are getting little to no screen time. I'm looking at you weird child dating plot between Rudy and Monster Girl

Solid re-introduction to the campy Super Hero show through the scope of bigotry and hatred of society through lenses of extremes. This somewhat at times looks like What if..., IF they decided to go more cartoony. I'm not a fan of Magnetos look personally, but the writing and personalities are as strong as ever, if not stronger as the show really dives into racism pretty hard off the bat. The action is polished and the writing is top notch and I would recommend this show older kids over adults who have lost the luster of 90s angst. But boy, do they know how to write a cliffhanger. After watching towards the end, I can confidently say this show is top tier narration and storytelling. Way to stick the landing

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)7
Feb 23, 2024
Kid Actors, what can I say, but they need more coaching with some of characters. Iroh and Bumi weren't as charming as they did it in the animation and they took a lot of liberty to shorten the entire first season place-settings, while keeping important characters in the lore. Much like One Piece, the look is right and some of the acting makes you sigh at times, but overall I'd recommend this to those looking for an abridged version that cuts through the side quests the original series was known for. The first season of the Animated show pales in comparison to the 2nd season, which to me is Pinnacle Avatar storytelling. For those who are hating on this show i remind you that the animated show is silly and a literal cartoon which required that Nickelodeon Charm. Hoping for a Season 2.

Carol & The End of The World9
Dec 21, 2023
With Gratuitous amount of Nudity throughout the story is sound in a world where people have simply given up on social norms a begin their journey through a world where the Earth only has months before an extinction level event. The Beauty in the story is the comfort in Normal and no matter how normal you want things to be the more they pull you into uncomfortable truths, you are not truly alone. Carol as a protagonist is weak, but as you peel back the layers you get someone extraordinary in the mundane. I found myself connecting more with the ensemble more than the main character, who at times, was uninteresting to say the least. Our obsession with the End of the World rings true in this cast of broken people looking for a certainty in an uncertain time and I would recommend this for folks over that age of 30 who's promise of youth is long gone and finding pleasure in the simple things as the world around them begins to implode.

What a well crafted tale that encompasses the life and trials of Queen Elisabeth's Reign. Not only do you see the subtle acting in the lines NOT said, but the weight they carry onward throughout the series that leaves you wanting more and googling more about the royal family than ever before. This Fictional Account was one of the best that ever was. a remarkable feet in story telling and Ensemble casting that brings in all the heavy hitters from Britains' Past and future up and coming actors taking on these challenging roles of a family that is more human than we'll ever really know. I got into this program during the Pandemic and it has left me in awe at the amount of work and care they put into this series.

I'm floored at the attention to detail in bringing the world to life and adding so much character to animated characters. Chris was very well animated in the way you can see the Character thinking exactly what their intent is and that is hard to do in basic 2d animation. in many ways this show could easily mistaken for Rotoscope in some of the animation. in terms of story, Show, Don't tell and let the audience build symbolism from it. Not all things need answers and I found this series a nice character study of survivors trying to survive in an unforgiving environment.

Blue Eye Samurai9
Nov 11, 2023
Superior Storytelling in this period piece that is very East/Western troupes from revenge to glimmers of hope dashed at the realities of life. This show was not afraid to be what it is, a bloody odyssey hell bent on killing those who have wronged the Blue Eyed Samurai, who has their own tragic past explored in more than one ways to my surprise. The animation style was beautiful and a tragic because it invokes the feeling of one person against the world. I'm really happy this Protagonist wasn't perfect and had to struggle at every step even though it felt like a hack and slash video game moist of the time.

PLUTO7

I regularly watch anime and most of them have a theme that is very predictable. My issues with this series is far from the concept of Good Anime vs Watchable Anime. Good Anime's are the ones that give you something to think about and in many ways this series holds the carrot of WhoDoneIt type of story telling behind a character drama that follows robots as they evolve into more human like. This deep Anime talks about Humanity and the tools we use to destroy each other and the Machines are treated with respect and care in a cruel world full of humans. Watchable Anime are the ones that are cliff hanger bait where you wanna see what happens next, much to the Streaming shows that go from one episode to another. The stories on their own are compelling, but the overall story is very forgettable to a point when you meet the killer you don't realize their importance the shadow of the main cast of characters who have good arcs on their own. The individual plots are great, but the culmination of story telling is pretty forgettable and you cannot rewatch this show because of the WhoDoneIt angle which is something, in my opinion, makes it hard to rewatch

The Fall of the House of Usher7
Oct 13, 2023
Not as Good at "Midnight Mass," but still one of his best works with sharp writing, as always, and Anthology actors that are part of Mike Flanagan's Rogues Gallery. At the start they give away the ending to all the ushers with the older doing his "hail marry" to a man he admires and respects on the other side of the law. If you look at this at face value you'd see a Final Destination, Masque of the Red Death (Vincent Price who also did Usher story, too) story where the main characters have accrued bad karma and a "Vengeful Rot" overlaying the Edgar Allen Poe stories front and center. This modern retelling of usher and one mans struggle to cope with dark forces beyond his control.

Dan Harmon's Newest Series for Network TV showcases some of the Humor of Greek Mythology and Modern, On the Nose Humor. Most of Dan Harmon's projects have a rough start because characters evolve and change based on real world and reactions to character dynamics. Not to mention Duncan Trussell is the man and so is Matt Berry. However it's too early to tell if this show will live up to Dan Harmon's standards from a fan prospective. Jokes Per Minute are lower than your normal Rick and Morty type thing, but at least it ain't Disenchantment.

Castlevania: Nocturne8
Oct 6, 2023
I really Liked this season as a whole., but some of the writing felt long and drawn out. The animation alone is top tire especially the slow burning of the hero, Ritcher, coming into his own. It's not as good as the Original series by far because the focus is on the good guys and the bad guys get some focus beyond the cackling villains of other shows. Dracula was compelling because you can relate to his vengeance over his evil incarnate as he is always portrayed. The point that demons attacked their home and the fact they even stayed there after a FEW more attacks felt stupid, which is why I gave this a lesser rating. so far they are laying the groundwork for a great series and we'll see where this goes because the First Series had a 4 episode count out of the 8 in this series' first season. Overall this is a nice series in the world of Castlevania highlighting characters and making their motivations clear.

One Piece (2023): Season 16
Sep 1, 2023
Not Perfect, but as close as you can get it. My biggest concern from the series was rushing the source material. Usopp's flashback acting was very rough and by the time we got to Nami's back story, I was bored and ready to stop. It's weird they had the side quest of Koby, since the story could have stayed with the Straw hats and came up with a narrative that could have been used and no one would have cared. However the Visuals and casting the main characters were great and for some reason the lighting was very soft and looked like it was missing a cinematic look. regardless of the sets and settings, we're missing the characters interacting with the world around them. At least it wasn't completely Cosplay and every costume choice was great. in the end I probably wouldn't watch it again and hope series start respecting story over adaptation, regardless of Oda's (the creator) influence.

Twisted Metal: Season 15

There is this thing about Video Games and adaptations which makes us believe it will hurt the source material. The Source is Not the best in terms of narration and its all about shooting eachother with your car. However, Upon watching the show, the acting would be on par with a typical Syfy original series. I believe it's on par with shows like Z Nation, which might have a cult following if given a chance, but overall this show is already starting at low expectations. My advice, play the games again and understand you're getting what you deserve, just more back story than you might have asked for.

The Last of Us: Season 18
Mar 13, 2023
Amazing Show, Needs More Infected and for those looking for gameplay connections shouldn't expect too much from a show from creators who believe "Love supersede's Logic" in a very emotional journey. Like most long format story telling, it always feels 2-3 episodes long. Pacing was solid for many episodes and perhaps they can fix this in season 2 with more Clickers to get those Clicks
