If you want to travel back in time to the period when adventure games posed a clever challenge, you won’t find a better game to do so. Epiphany is the best game in the series, so I’m genuinely sad there won’t be a follow-up. [06/2014, p.64]

The heart of the game is in its logical execution of conversations and puzzles, while not being trivial. [Issue#242]
This spectacular ending to the Blackwell Pentalogy makes it even harder to think that we will not see any further adventures from Rosa and Joey, but fills us up with anticipation for their next new great project.

The score refers to the entire serie, single games score would be one point lower, but all together they gain value. Classic point and click games with very little innovation. The pixel graphic is nice, the story is good and the setting is fascinating. Gameplay is very simple, a few puzzles are a bit obscure and you don't receive many hints about them. Starting from the second game you can also use the second character, and while what you can do is limited, it's a nice addition. The games last few hours (except maybe for the last one) after which there is no replayability. You'll be entertained by them but it only makes sense to play them in a row since the plot is connected. Suggested only to the fan of the genre, play the first one and decide if you want to know what happens next.

A great conclusion to the Blackwell series, Epiphany delivers a poignant ending, the usually strong investigative and spooky gameplay and at least one breathlessly emotional "ghost story". Be aware, though, that having played the previous games is strongly suggested.

One of the best point&click adventure games out there! It has beautiful graphics - the best from the series (but do play all the preceding games first, they are really awesome as well!), fantastic voice acting. It is extremely well writing - this is a gem of storytelling. This game is a fulfilling finale of the series, even though the ending is rather sad. The game is an emotional rollercoaster with interesting plot twists. It has likable characters, plenty of great dialogue, great atmosphere and music. The user score here baffles me - this is one of the best games for those that like story based games. Puzzles are reasonable - the game has basically no vices of adventure games of old (pixel hunting and such). A must play!

Fans will definitely enjoy the ride, latching onto each minute. Newcomers, well, go play the whole series—they’re on sale often and you’ll thank me when it’s over.

The high-point of a consistently strong series, and a great showcase of adventure game design that fits the story's theme.

The Blackwell Epiphany is the latest chapter in the Blackwell series and the best of all of them. It closes the series with great tact, with great plot twists and by tying up all the loose ends.

It’s sad to see the series go but the satisfying revelations and conclusion makes Blackwell Epiphany a must play.

The level of storytelling once it makes it past the more clunky moments makes the whole experience worthwhile. The conclusion itself made me forgive the game for all the awkward moments that came before it. And, after playing through all five chapters in quick succession, I can guarantee that that is the best way to appreciate the overall narrative.

I've played through the entire series and eagerly awaited this final installment. I enjoyed every moment. There were the usual frustrations inherent in the adventure point and click genre, the sometimes slow and tedious running about and all that. But none of that detracted from my enjoyment of the story and ambient music. Definitely a recommend for anybody who loves a good noir ghost story.

i just heard of that title out of no where. It does what computer games can do best, tell an intriguing and interactive story; and a very good one, too. the story is mature, the puzzles may be too easy for an adventure pro, but they fit in. the length of the title is appropriate actually and the graphics - at first i had my doubts. i think the graphical presentation should always support the story and setting - and i was not so sure about the retro pixel art look at first but started to love it. there was something about it. ( started playing the blackwell legacy and worked my way up to the epiphany chronologically ) - i simply loved all the characters - which is very rare for me. maybe it is the voiceacting or the artstyle, but characters and story just pulled me in and would not let go until i had finished all parts.... . 100% recommended

Great adventure game, great conclusion to a great series! Easily one of the best adventure games in recent years, but not as good as Gemini Rue perhaps. Still, light years better than Broken Age. I love the puzzles in this game - challenging but never too hard! Great dialogue, many locations.. great characters. Very loveable.

Simply put, one of the best adventure games of these last years. Fantastic story, great puzzles, nice voice acting, good music. The only downside is that you pretty much have to play the other games in the serie to fully understand what's going on... but it's not a big flaw, since the others are pretty good games too (and they're pretty cheap on ****). Every point-and-click adventure lover should play this.

SummaryA dead man’s soul cries out against the force of a ferocious blizzard. He cries for help. He cries for answers. Then he screams as he is torn apart like damp tissue paper. This wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last. The police are powerless to stop it, so the duty falls to the only ones who can. What force could be so powerful ... Read More
