As someone who has read the original comics, I can very much see what all changes have been brought in this movie from the source material. And they have done it absolutely correctly. It seems better to see Peter Parker as someone who chooses to use his proto suit to fight in a cage match than to see him as a celebrity. The scene of Uncle Ben being shot down by a thug was really emotional to see, as he left the message for Peter - "With great power comes great responsibility". Peter is left to choose his own destiny as a high school teenager who has to deal with a death in the family, his career after school and being a new hope of humanity. At many points throughout the movie I felt that if I were him I would have been completely broken. But that's exactly what makes him a hero. He deals with all the situations and makes it look so simple. I even feel bad for Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin. He had worked so hard on his project but finally it was suspended. He was struck with grief and then the next moment he's the iconic Spider-Man villain. Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin looked way better than the comic counterpart. And his motivations were exactly like how we'd expect Green Goblin to be like. Spider-Man is one of those movies I often come back to see from time to time. I really like how the very first Spider-Man movie has set a benchmark for the future movies. It looks absolutely natural and has pretty good CGI for its time. The visual tone and colour palette are absolutely like an early 2000s film. It's a must watch movie for anyone starting to see Hollywood movies.

I think it take really good actors to be able to carry a movie as basically the only people in it. Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence do just that...really well. This might have been billed as a Sci-Fi as other reviewers have stated, but it is definitely romance, adventure and drama, with a little suspense thrown in. I saw this without reading any reviews and loved it straight away, so much so that I watched it again within a few days. It is one of those movies that can be watched over and over without becoming boring. When I read some of the critics reviews after watching it, I really thought they had the wrong movie. My recommendation is if you like romance movies you will like this one, it is that simple.

Neil Marshall seems an odd choice for this type of movie . An established horror director isn't the first person you'd think of when choosing a director to make a historical adventure featuring ancient Rome in their battle to tame the Picts . That said he knows Scotland very well since his previous films DOG SOLDIERS and DOOMSDAY were both set there even if they were filmed in Luxumberg and South Africa respectively . At least the Scotland here resembles the gloomy bleak landscape seen in Winter From the outset Marshall shows his genre roots by making CENTURION as violent as possible . I saw this on the same day as I saw the last RAMBO movie and there's not a world of difference between the two movies where violence is concerned , people are decapitated and disemboweled and rivers run red with blood . If there's a problem it's as in his other films Marshall shows a slight problem with pacing . When characters sit down and talk you find yourself hoping for a bit more character interaction but this rug is pulled from under the audiences feet and we're back to a bloody set-piece regardless if it's needed or not . I had hoped for a little bit more conversation and a little bit less action please . If someone makes a bio-pic on Elvis then Neil Marshall will not be that director. That said films such as THE NAKED PREY and APOCALYPTO don't have much in the way of conversation either I'll say one thing in favour of the director and that is he's able to make a film where the British Isles have been invaded and the modern day British audience are still able to empathise with the invaders to an extent . Neither side is painted in black and white and the Romans are helped by the fact that they're played by a likable cast . One possibly might suggest that there's a subtext on Afghanistan going on here somewhere . By this I mean an all conquering super power finding itself unable to decisively beat an indigenous population . In fact the infamous line about Afghanistan being " The grave yard of empires " is almost spoken in relation to the Picts And that's perhaps the underlying fundamental problem with CENTURION . It's a film that could be somewhat more cerebral and character driven but has sacrificed this in order to be a violent historical action adventure that doesn't let up . It's a good film but perhaps should have been an even better one regardless of the budget

Well I am sure that everyone involved in the making thought that they were all so daring to actually put a gay blow job on display alongside a bunch of other naked people having sex. However, as most of us know that is not new, there is actually a hole industry specialising in exactly that calle porn and they are rewarded at the annual AVN-award show. Shortbus certainly have several similarities with a porn flick. The plot is as poorly written, the dialogs as unreal and the acting only convincing when they are having intercourse. The fact that this movie has even been mentioned at any other movie reward but the AVN, shows that there are too many unreliable critics out there.

This movie goes so far beyond "documentary" that it is **** 3 hours I felt like I was truly in Adele's heart, feeling every high and low she went through. I normally avoid reading reviews for movies because I get majorly over-hyped at first, then eventually disappointed. I was expecting the same with this film...even though I heard amazing things and it was conveniently on Netflix I didn't watch it for a long time because it was long and I am lazy. But WOW I could not have been more wrong and I wish I watched this sooner because it really got me thinking about some stuff. At the lowest common denominator, this is a French, lesbian teenage love story. But at a high level this is the ultimate love story, a TRUE love story from beginning to end that includes the awkward beginnings and heartbreaking ends. Honestly gender and sexuality have nothing to do with it, this story could be applied to any couple on the history of Earth. Basically it is a story of first love, the passion the follows and the eventual moving **** most important is that the story is told by 2 INCREDIBLE actresses who take you along for the ride. I highly recommend this film!

Yet another generic white-trash slasher flick from the early 2000's- Wrong Turn proves to be nothing short of a Texas Chainsaw rip off- except with slightly more plot and far less style. It's easy to say I did not enjoy watching this movie. I try to keep an open mind on horror films in general, as many can be quite panned for silly reasons, but honestly I think this one deserves far more crap than it receives. The only good thing I can say about this film is that lead actor and Dexter star Desmond Harrington tries his best in his role. His lines can be written horribly and his character quite generic, but he does truly try throughout the film despite his inescapable character flaws- and is easily the best actor in the films entirety. The other actors vary from being the stereotypical horror cast members and characters we always see, to being annoying little turds that truly just got lucky to be in a film at all. So much of this film is just tedious nonsense, that it was honestly quite hard to sit through. The dialogue is repetitive, each scene is one stupid game of cat and mouse after the next, and none of it is interesting. The cinematography is done incredibly poorly, the look of the film as bland as can be, and the story is almost non-existent. None of it is frightening, very very little of it is amusing, and it's honestly a dud all the way through. It may not be the worst horror movie i've seen, but it is up there.

People like to overthink the quality of movies and they end up ignoring if they enjoyed it. I liked it. It was fun, slick, clever and obviously had a female John Wick flavor to it. But that's not a bad thing. It could have used better, more memorable villains and a stronger, more creative plot. Also, why is it always Russians? But other than that I enjoyed it. That's good enough for me.

hile this had some good moments and good traps and a decent storyline, this isn't anything special or new, and should have been far more superior than it was. Chris Rock was better than I expected but I still think I'd like to have seen someone else in the role. Unfortunately though this was far too predictable as it's very obvious early on who the Jigsaw copycat is. Unlike other films there wasn't much subtlely. A shame as they had an opportunity here to make something really exciting.

It's worth watching in theaters because the intense suspense could possibly be taken as sarcasm sometimes if watched at home. I enjoyed the plot thickening and some of the acting is pretty good, however the casting gets a little out of hand and some decisions with some characters make them pretty forgettable. Definitely worth price of theaters though.

Would definitely recommend for a father-and-son movie. My son loved it, mainly because he could relate to wanting to be powerful... when he otherwise feels relatively small and powerless.

This film contains all the elements **** masterpiece. Its attention to detail, history, and tradition. An absolutely wonderful screenplay. Its comparative closeness to the novel and a storyline which became the template for future stories in this genre. As for the performances: there is not one single character flaw in this entire cast. What continues to amaze me about this film more than any other is the fact that not only were the correct actors and actresses chosen for the roles but that they were each chosen at the perfect point in their respective careers. Throughout this film, there is not one actor nor actress who seems "too old or young for the part". Nor does anyone (including an extremely strong Diane Keaton) seem "out of place" or "unconvincing". The plot and storyline could not have been better and this is one film that no matter how many times you've seen it, it still continues to amaze, entertain, and (in some ways) inform. Like some of the classics which preceded it, it holds up very well over time and will probably continue to do so. I currently own on VHS "The Godfather Saga" (the first 2 movies woven together in chronological order) which is absolutely amazing. It begins with the birth of Vito and ends with the eventual rise of Michael. Although Francis Ford Coppola does not like this version of his epic, I sure wish he would release it on DVD.

This movie is hands down one of the greatest films ever created. Meticulously plotted, boldly directed, emotionally satisfying and grand in scale are just a few ways to describe this colossus of filmmaking. Heath Ledger easily surpasses even the hype with a masterclass, screen devouring performance. Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman are also incredible. You need to see this movie at least once in your lifetime - go see it now!!
