Passengers is as surprisingly traditional as it is undeniably effective. A timeless romance wedded to a space-age survival thriller, it may be a curious coupling but Tyldum’s Turing follow-up is a journey well worth taking.

The film eventually runs out of rocket fuel, piling on the special effects but arriving at a disappointing conclusion.

Greetings from Lithuania.
"Passengers" (2016) has to be one of the best guilty pleasure movies I've ever seen. I can understand why it got so many negative reviews from critics and viewers, and you kinda have to leave your believes behind the door when you will watch this movie, because there are some "how can that be?" moments in this movie, but they are far and in between for a what beautiful, original (!) and simply great this movie is. The premise is original, and kinda fresh - and this comes from a science fiction genre fan. Acting was very good by all involved (i won't spoil how many faces). Script as well directing was very involving - at running time almost 2 hours i was engaged into this story more that i could have possibly imagined at the beginning.Overall, "Passengers" is a terrific Sci-Fi entertainment. Its not a very deep on its core (aka Interstellar), but it delivers on a most important thing - to like a movie very much do to its involvement in a story. This one truly delivers a great, great guilty pleasure.

Love this movie, easily one of my favorites. Love this visual setting of it, the characters, the story ! The acting is also pretty good and share a very nice dynamic between them! Worth rewatching from time to time

The problem is that one can't help but think of better, more interesting movies based on this premise.

It’s a shame that Passengers couldn’t improve on its initial hook. With a distinct lack of chemistry and a director without the know-how to find a deeper meaning in story, the shoddy foundation of the premise quickly collapses.

Stalking tactics bolstering romantic comedies are by no means new, and over the decades, film-makers have proved adept at somehow planing down real-world nastiness, but here it’s gruesomely inescapable.

What's worse than the actual movie itself, though, is how indicative it is of modern group-think studio production.

A very good movie with some pretty bad moments, things can feel unnatural and weird. overall I like it and would watch it again but it is far from the best movie, still an easy recommendation

A science fiction film that is different from the classics of its genre. The story involves very few characters but the plot is not affected, indeed the characters are described very well in their psychology and their feelings. The plot of the story does not reach any particular level but is quite usual, but still appreciable

I was somewhat intrigued by the premise of this movie, only to be disappointed by it's implementation. The over-arching premise was interesting but the sub-plots tended to be simply weird. Watching Pratt's character obsessing over Lawrences character in suspended animation was, in a word, creepy. If I had to generalize I'd likely say that the writer did an excellent job of crafting an interesting story. The movie makers, on the other hand, fell well short in their implementation.
