I liked this game. Unique combat system, really great voice-acting and graphics, and set in a really interesting world. I did lose steam halfway through because the combat gets a little repetitive.

A really beautiful game. I liked the combat (a little similar to Hades, with different weapons and different 'boons') and exploring the game a lot (puzzles) - the art is really really beautiful, and so were the cut scenes and music. I loved learning about the gods and goddesses. Some reviewers said the camera angle was an issue, but I didn't feel that way, because the camera would usually be angled to give a wide shot of the background and architecture. I was more surprised by how short this game was. I thought it would run much longer, with much more to explore. Also, really stellar voice acting (except Raji's lol). Overall, I really enjoyed this game. It's a short and really beautiful action game.

A lot more content than the first game. Beautiful art, beautiful music. I really enjoyed exploring and unlocking new areas and new abilities. I personally felt that the story was kind of weak and distracted from the gameplay.

this is a game that requires you to make really precise jumps. thank god for the assist mode because i would never be able to make it through the game otherwise. the areas are all well-designed, the music is great! and the art is really cute. i love each new mechanic in each new area. i found the story a bit boring though... the game is really enjoyable if you like technically demanding games, or you like a challenge

There's not a lot to do and you can't really replay it, but this is a beautiful and atmospheric game. The soundtrack and the watercolor backgrounds are really beautiful.

I didn't really like this. I loved Journey, but this fell a bit flat. The controls were very unintuitive and the camera angles often left me dizzy.

i bought this on sale and binged it for a couple of weeks the good: - innovative and refreshing take on roguelikes. makes replaying the same few rooms super fun - really fun combat system - loved the boons and the weapons, and i love that the game incentivizes you to try out all the weapons. each of the weapons also have very different play styles that are very fun to try - the game created a really atmospheric underworld - great art, great voice acting, great music - god mode - it's great for people who don't have a lot of time/patience to grind but want to enjoy the story/game bad: - mostly my personal preferences, but i didn't like the storytelling/characterization near the end of the game. the ending was really unsatisfactory to me - personal preference again, but i lost motivation after the official ending. going through the runs to 'test security' just kinda feels eh overall, i think everyone should try this game. you can tell this is a labor of love

i played this with a friend and we got a lot of fun out of it. this is basically a lighthearted stealth game good: - novel, creative and funny concept and fun goals, lots of laughs in co-op - love the art style! and the music bad: - camera is a huge issue. on co-op, the camera kept zooming in or out and it's super frustrating, especially in bigger areas like the pub coz we could only see a small area around us - you and your co-op partner can only be apart for a certain distance or you both can't move - very frustrating in bigger areas overall, it's a very novel and fun game. while the price is low, i still think it would be more worth it only if there's a sale because it's a very short game

i played this in two-player mode with a friend. this game is not worth it at full price. it's really only worth it if it's about $5. what I didn't like: - very hard to tell what items and features are interactable and what aren't, design/visuals are very confusing where what seems to be foreground objects turn out to be in the background and vice versa. in some levels there were fire spirit things that chase after you and kill you but most of the time, it's quite hard to see them until they're right there on top of you. i wish the game made it more obvious. it was super frustrating - game is very inconsistent with what happens when you do stuff. e.g. in some areas, if you touch water you drown. in other areas, you can actually swim in it. or sometimes, you can stand on a revolving gear. other times, it kills you if you just touch it lol - perspective issues. my friend and i played it on a big TV but our avatars were very tiny and we felt like we had to squint to see everything on the screen - not gonna lie, most of the levels were boring or tedious/convoluted/repetitive - the story/plot was boring and hard to follow it's disappointing because i really liked the first one and i love the soundtrack of this game

Took me forever to get into this game (I was only really sold once I reached the water kingdom) but man I love this. To me, it has some of the same elements that made Breath of the Wild a masterpiece - lots of freedom for me to decide what I want to do next, vast world with lots of secrets and tips and tricks, very creative and fun puzzles. I'm so thankful for the Assist mode. I'm really bad at boss battles and the Assist mode helps me enjoy the game without having to die fifty times to the same boss.

This game changed me. I love it. The soundtrack is gorgeous, and the backgrounds and side characters are creative. I loved how I pieced together the lore by journeying through the different kingdoms. The controls are satisfying and I really loved that the game gave me so much freedom in terms of where I wanted to explore or what I wanted to do next. My only complaint is I wish this had an Assist mode, like Super Mario Odyssey, or Celeste. But going through the difficult boss battles was really rewarding. This game taught me a lot about myself.

This is THE defining game for me. I never played Zelda before this and only played stuff like Pokemon and Animal Crossing but this game changed everything for me. The world of Zelda is huge and beautiful and there are so many interesting secrets and tricks that it feels like a real world. I've spent hours exploring and I still remember how magical it felt when I saw my first dragon, or how fun it was experimenting with the physics of the game, or even really silly stuff, like when I hid behind a rock to spy on Moblins. Bosses are also manageable (I **** at boss battles). Botw really changed my entire view of games. I now play action games, platformers, puzzle games. And I'm now a Zelda fan.

The good is as most people say: the graphics and audio are amazing, some things are more convenient. I agree with all of it so I'm just going to focus on the bad. The bad: - There is WAY too little content for a $70 game. Half of the characters seem to have been axed (Brewster, Katrina, the dream suite, Leif, Gracie, the aplacas...). I kept thinking, 'Is this it? Is this all there is to the game?' when I realized that the last character to unlock was KK Slider. - Needing the Nintendo Switch Online paid subscription to: 1) online play, 2) use QR codes. This is just really unfair. - The increased number of tools. There are way too many tools. I'm of the opinion that a good game has one or two key dynamics and builds around that. But there are so many tools in ACNH that it becomes cumbersome when playing. - DIY CRAFTING OF TOOLS. I effing hate this. Every tool breaks, even golden tools. Then what is the benefit of getting a golden tool? In ACNL, each tool upgrade gave a benefit that made sense in the game. The gold bug net has an increased radius so you can catch rare bugs that startle when you get too close, the golden watering can waters more flowers... There isn't even a way to tell if the tool is close to breaking. - The constant grinding for materials. Because tools break, half my playtime is spent gathering materials. This has a few problems: 1) distracts from gameplay, 2) materials are almost as important as bells coz you need them to craft a variety of things, 3) at least 5-6 spaces in my inventory are wasted on holding materials, negating the increased inventory size - The mileage programme. Like above, it distracts from the game coz in essence you have a bunch of meaningless and repetitive side-quests to do just so you can grind for quite a meager amount of miles (e.g. selling 10 seashells for about 200 miles). Also hate that the island ticket is paid for by mileage - I really hate the new island mechanic. There are no tours, which makes it boring. When there is multiplayer, there's nothing to do. The islands also no longer reliably spawn sharks and rare bugs. - Very difficult to grind for bells now. In New Leaf, a reliable way of getting money was through the money rock/the ore rock and the island, or the Bell Boom town ordinance (where are the ordinances, by the way?). The money rock gives less money now, there is no ore rock, the island no longer spawns rare stuff. Most items also have inflated prices. Flower seeds used to be 80 bells, now it's 240 bells. - Paying bells to send letters. Seriously? Why on earth did someone think this was a good idea? Animal Crossing is about a sense of community that you create in the new island/town you move to. The letter system really gave a sense that you were writing to your villagers and they'd write back and send presents. Also, the villagers don't write back. - THE VILLAGERS. They have way blander personalities. They no longer ask you to change their catchphrase, ask you to run silly errands and run up to you and pester you for something in your inventory. Their dialogue options are incredibly repetitive, where each villager seems to repeat the same 2-3 lines. Even the cute little animations are very repetitive. - Having only 1 island per console. The local co-op system also is **** [link omitted per rules] - Why isn't there an icon on my map for other players who are here? - The merchants. Why is Kicks a wandering merchant instead of having an unlockable shop? Why is the furniture selection at T&T so small, and why can it only be upgraded once? Why isn't there the option to VIEW the wallpaper and flooring I want to buy, in the shop itself, before I buy it? - Only being able to order 5 things from the catalogue. Why the **** TLDR: the game is very beautiful and instagrammable, with some convenient upgrades, but it is mainly incredibly lacking in content, it is repetitive and restrictive, resulting in quite a frustrating gameplay experience. I am still playing because I love decorating and customizing, but it is incredibly unsatisfying.
