Would be a solid 8 but I'm deducting a point for technical stuff. The game is absolutely great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It offers a good mix of interesting missions, even though it's not open world, and beautiful graphics to go with it. I really enjoyed how the game let's you play itself just as you want to, with most missions letting you choose how you want to approach them. Sadly, the game isn't entirely ironed out as of writing this. Even though I updated my graphics card drivers to the newest release explicitly supporting this game, I had a lot of light flickers and a few crashes. Also the framerate was all over the place, ranging from 60 to 20 FPS all throughout the game. The story was not the best thing I've ever played, but still pretty good. It kept me interested throughout the game. All in all: definitely get this. Once 2k has ironed out all the bugs, this will be a great game to get. Also 50€ at release????? Where do we get this anymore?
I don't exactly know how to feel about this one. Visually and technically it's great, and the game mechanics are just as much fun as in the first part (they are identical). However, the constant story jumps put me a bit off. It builds up tention, just to take you 4 years back, then back into the present, the 3 years back etc. etc. It didn't really maintain any tention, and after a while, I was more confused then anything. Towards the ending, it all made sense. That sadly doesn't fix the mediocre story experience I've had for most of the game.
Finally Ubisoft listened to the player feedback and put out a proper Assassin's Creed game instead of a bad assassin themed RPG. The good:
As I said: Ubisoft listened. No more riding around for ages, no more excessive farming to keep up with the levels, just some good old Assassin's creed fun. The story wasn't a masterpiece but was interesting enough to keep me hooked, game mechanics are fun and the once boring and repetitive side missions have been improved at least a little bit. The game world looks great, isn't as excessively big as it once was and I did not encounter any bugs at all (mind you: 1 year after game release). The bad:
No innovation at all. The game is a return to the pre-origins Assassin's creed formula, without even a tiniest hint of change, which was a little disappointing to see. Some mechanic feel just a bit outdated, the whole game formula basically like we're back in 2015. Maybe there's a sweet spot to be hit, innovating game play without turning the game into Odyssey / Origins / Valhalla. And then there's the technical aspect. The game runs well and looks okay (pretty average for a game from 2023. There's better, there's worse). But my smooth, 60 fps gameplay was often interrupted by 30 fps video cutscenes with heavy compression artifacts. We do not need those anymore. That is not something I wanna see in modern games. Also, the asssassination animations still **** as they always did. If you sneak up on an enemy and hit assassinate, they stand up, turn towards you and let you plunge the knife into their neck. There has got to be a better way to solve this than use such lazy animations. TLDR: Assassin's creed like the old times, comes with both the good and the bad these games had. In good old Ubisoft fashion, the game lacks love and care and also lacks very heavily from a technical standpoint.
Great addition to the first part. Many things that bugged me in the first game were a lot better in this one. Again, the world and the story are both great, the fighting is fun, all the good stuff from the first game is still there. However, side missions are less tediousand you don't have to grind much in this game but still can if you want to. I really enjoyed it and can only recommend it. The port is great too!
A 5 sums this game up perfectly. It is perfectly mediocre. The good: The game looks good and the story is interesting enough. I found myself really wanting to get to the end of this game. The bad: The game is tedious as hell. There'sno meaningful interaction, you basically just walk and press a button sometimes. And the walking speed is so frustatingly slow, that I often found myself quitting the game just because I got fed up with how slow the movement is. It's basically like crouching in Minecraft, but you can't switch it off. Also, the port is bad. I ran this game on hardware way above the minimum requirements at minimal settings and I was playing on ~30 FPS, with regular frame drops down to 10.
I have sunk many hours into this game. Through the alpha, beta, and all that early development stuff. Coffee Stain has been a great studio to experience early access with. They've been doing their best to work with the community, provide updates and listen to feedback. It's not hard to tell that this is a passion project, one which years have been invested into. It feels like there's more passion in this game then any AAA title in the recent years. The exploring is fun. The building is fun. Every time you automate something, put hours into a factory, all of it is just so satisisfying. A game that never gets boring, never stagnates. You can pour hours into this game without even noticing. I deducted one point because there are still some bugs and crashes. However, these are very rare and (except for the crashes) don't impact the gameplay. It's definitely not a buggy mess though, the bugs are very minor. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves exploring, base building and automation. Edit: bumped the rating up to a 10 because I can't find any bugs anymore. Great job on the developers side.
Absolutely a great game. Stunning graphics, great story and good gameplay. I liked how the game doesnt work with a classic minimap, but with a guiding wind. Really adds to the overall feel of the game. The combat it great too. I can only highly recommend this game to anyone who likes Action RPGs. A must play. Oh, and in good Sony fashion (aside from that one zombie game we don't talk about) the port is great too.
Great RPG, from the graphics to the story to the mechanics. I really liked it. 2 points deducted because the side missions can sometimes be a bit boring and the game isn't as innovative as it could have been. It's a very classic RPG. However, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Recommended!
A decent experience, the world is awesome and looks great. However, I didn't like the gameplay mechanics. You can finish this game without thinking at all because it holds your hand so much. And apart from puzzles its just walking around and making selections. This awesome world with its mix of 1920s aesthetics and cyberpunk would have deserved a more fleshed out story with real puzzles and more than waling around. Buy it on sale maybe.
Easily the best game I've played recently. The story is absolutely great and easily the highlight of the game, and even though the game only consists of walking, dialogue options and some qte's, I wasn't bored for a single second. Choices matter, the game design is beautiful and the characters are realteable. The price is absolutely fair for the length of the game. Would absolutely recommend.
I liked this game a lot. However, it was a bit short. And the game mechanics feel a bit outdated, as there really is no way for the player to influence the story, which I kinda expected nowadays. However, still hugely enjoyed this one, would recommend.
This game is just absolute garbage. For the huge price, they only give you two busses (a short version and a long version of each other) and a tiny part of the map. The graphics absolutely ****, however the game is still laggy and performs amazingly bad. Driving feels like in a flash game, the cities have no people in them and consists of textures straight from the 2000s. Driving feels like in a flash game and is just not fun (huge problem for a driving sim). Distances are weird. It takes me the same amount of time to go from one part of the city to the other as it takes me to drive through a whole state. Partially at fault are the traffic lights that show red for such huge amounts of time, I actually took my real life phone out of my real life pocket whenever I was at a traffic light and whatched tik toks.
I like the game. It's fun to drive around and plan your network. I also appreciate the inclusion of the European map from bus sim 18. But even though I like playing this game, I can't rate it more than 5. And that's being generous. The game is just so buggy. I feel like it's even buggier than bus sim 18. And it has been out for so long now, there's just no excuse why that stuff isn't patched yet. Things that are bad about this game:
-the graphics are ugly. Everything is so shiny and weird
-rain is in no way visible. I only notice the rain when I get a notification to turn the wipers on
-npc driven busses will just spawn out of nowhere. Sometimes they spawn so close in front of you, that you crash immediately and get a penalty
-the game will say I hit a pedestrian when I never did
-passengers will want to buy tram tickets and refer to tram seats while on a bus
-diesel and cng busses revv up their engine to the max while standing. I'll be at bus stops with the doors open and the motor goes WRRRRRRR
-since next stop has come out, the whole map is covered in ugly tram tracks with super unrealistic layouts, even though I dont have the dlc
-trams will spawn at random. I do not have the tram extension so they are always empty. Why?
-Busses will spawn sideways when at the depot
-articulated busses will spawn with their back segment pointing straight up at the sky
-when a lot of busses wait at a stop, the bus currently serving the stop will be far enough away for the game to not simulate it, so I have to get out and walk to the first bus. Only then will passengers start to get on and off
-you can only own 100 busses. With the size of the map, that's just not enough
-pedestrians will sometimes actively try to commit suicide by walking in front of your bus. This is rare but it happens
Basically Not Tonight 1 but America version. In my opinion, the game didn't have enough new ideas to warrant a whole new game. The principle is still very much the same, with gimmicks that just dont make sense. The serious story combined with the unseriousness of the world didn't pair too well. And the core gameplay mechanics have not changed at all. The american ID's even look the same as the british ones from the first game, just the flag is changed. Overall, kinda disappointing. Only buy if you really liked the first one.
Great game which I found myself getting absolutely lost in. The graphics are simple but beautiful, the story is fun and intriguing, and the fishing mechanic is pretty much perfect. I only wish the game lasted longer, as it is a bit short. However, considering the low price, that's absolutely alright. Recommended!
A great, atmoshperic game which I really enjoyed. The story is probably its best part. Exploring its weird and unknown world is amazing, and even though I absolutely **** at games like these (the game does feel like a shooter sometimes) it had me trying again and again, just to see how the story continues. Would definitely recommend. Now for the cons. The facial animations are absolutely whack. Character seem like they're all a bunch of botox addicts, their face barely moving when they talk. Sometimes, I feel like the difficulty of enemies varies too much. There's a whole bunch of enemies you can just one shot, other enemies requiere you to train for half a day just to get close to defeating them. For me that just seemed a bit too varying
One of the best open world games out there for sure. The open world isbeautiful and contains loads of things to be explored. They story is one of the best I've experienced so far, with absolutely no need to have played the previous games in order to understand it. It's atmospheric, gripping and captivating. Now, why only 8 points? I'm deducting points for -major bug in the DX12 port, which would not let me talk to a character needed for a major side mission. I had to temporarily switch back to DX11 to do that -absolutely horrible horse mechanics. Horse riding is probably the worst I've experienced in any game, becauseonce its stuck, its stuck. Also, the horse kinda rides itself, but sometimes in directions you dont want it to, leading to even more frustration -the witcher contracts can feel like a bit of a chore sometimes (they're optional so no biggie) I would still absolutely recommend this game. Go get it.
This sequel basically takes everything good about the first part and expands on it, creating a touching, fun story for the player to experience. It demands your attention, calls you out on your **** and puts you through a roller coaster of emotions. Paired with Windows XP-era graphics and sounds, this game is an experience I can only recommend
A short but great visual novel. Story is touching and told in a really great way, graphics are 2d pixel graphics but made with a lot of care. It really throws you back to the early 2000s internet. Can recommend!
Would have been an 8 - 8.5 without the technical stuff. First off: This was my first time playing the game, and it was amazing. The story is great, the missions are fun and interesting and the environment is beautiful. This game definitely deserves its legendary status. However, I´m sick of publishers releasing betas as a finished product, and unfortunately, it has happened again. The port ****. While I was late enough to the party to not experience too many crashes (only two), the game is still very poorly optimized. I don´t have the most amazing PC, but it´s far above minimum requirements and had a really tough crunch running the game at lowest settings, with FSR I could at least turn them from "Very Low" to "Low". And that´s just not the kind of polish for a game that costs as much as any brand new AAA game. I would love to see Part 2 on PC. And I can recommend anyone play this game. However, maybe not when it´s not on sale. Just as a little middle finger towards sony for the poor release ;)
A pretty good addition to the franchise, nice to know how the story of Joryu (cough cough) continues. As someone who really disliked the turn based combat in the last Like A Dragon, I appreciate the return to the good old combat system. The game really is nothing special though, it does not stick out amongst the series. First off: Sotenbori. I´m still waiting for the franchise to return to some of the locations it introduced in Yakuza 5, as those were really cool. But instead, we go to Sotenbori for the 100th time (and the place really hasn´t changed much since Yakuza 0). I was hoping for a bit more here. What I really did like though was the additon of the Akame Network, and while it stops side missions from happening spontaneously, which is a little downside, I still liked it a lot. Characters like Akame are definitely good for the franchise as well, keep it up. The story was good, as in most Yakuza games. All in all, a pretty good game, but nothing special compared to the rest of the franchise. I would have loved to see some the devs innovate a bit more as they did in the Judgments.
A fun enough experience with a different perspective on migration than is usually portrayed in media. I really liked the message it tells. The cooking sequences are really fun, especially because you have to do some thinking yourself and don´t just follow recipes (in a way). However, the story does a lot of huge time jumps, while also just being a little bit over an hour long. There was a lot of potential to A) make the game a bit longer while B) making the story a bit deeper and less surface level. I also can´t really bring myself to like conversation options when they mean literally nothing / have no consequences. There´s definitely potential for a more layed out sequel though, I would definitely buy it.
Really innovative game with just the right amount of thinking and problem solving required. Easy enough for people who have never used a terminal before, while still being plenty fun for people who have. Story is okay, nothing to write home about. But since the game was still really fun, I´m not deducting too many points for that. I also would have liked to see more tools added towards the end. All in all definitely worthwhile, and for the low prices the game can be picked up nowadays (I payed a whole 2€ for the deluxe edition) you really can´t go wrong.
A decent addon to the main game, which I do not regret playing. It adds a lot to the game and manages to keep its influence in the game world. The added side story is actually great, I liked it alot. However, the way the missions play is just different. They feel very Hitman-ish and less Cyberpunk, the approach you do missions with is basically given to you, you can´t choose as much as you could in the main game. What I did expect after the horrendous launch of the main game was for this DLC to be polished as all hell, it was not. The added missions contain just as many bugs as the main game right now (2.1) which would be fine if CD Projekt would not have a reputation to repair. I guess we can be glad they´re not game-breaking. And without spoilering: I have noticed 2 voice lines which were added into the main game storyby the DLC. And they ****. One sounded entirely different like it was jammed into a preexisting conversation (which it was) and that pretty much ****. Would have loved to see a bit more effort.
Played on patch 1.5 and 2.1 Great story, set in an interesting, detailed open world. The game is really fun and definitely up there with interesting missions (even the side ones are interesting) and meaningful choices. It definitely deserves a spot up there among the great. Bug wise, the game has managed to shake its overall buginess. It crashed once during my playthrough on 2.1, and that´s fine. However even 3 years after release it has reached the bug-freeness of like a recent Assassins Creed, so defenitely not bug free. I was hoping for more, especially after all the promises CD Projekt made. But hey, still a great game, still 8 points
Great game with an original concept and one of the most beautiful environments I have seen in quite some time. It´s also a beautiful story, beautifully told. However, I was able to comfortably finishing the game in about 7 hours, making it a bit short for my taste. The story would have offered room for a lot more content, and at the price point the game comes in / came in at release, it is just too short. Another criticism I should ad is the low difficulty. The game makes it very hard to fail, I would have loved to see some kind of proper platforming system here. All in all the game is definitely worth playing, just get it on sale so you get a good amount of entertainment for your money.
A great game with a unique concept and good storytelling. Interactions are meaningfull, emotional and you can actually feel the impact your actions have on the game world. Good stuff.
Pretty decent prequel to the first game, storywise. Gameplaywise it innovated in all the worst ways. The only innovation are the skating sequences which are mostly not really fun and feel a bit out of place. They reminded me more of a mobile game than anything else. I still enjoyed this game though, if you get it for cheap definitely do play it. Be aware that it´s only 4-5 hours though.
A decent experience with some fun gameplay elements. Going around the city and hacking your way through missions is decently fun, even though the wheel has not been reinvented there. The bad thing about this game is the story. It absolutely **** and feels like it has been written by someone with a deadline. It´s kinda lifeless and not really believable. The main character also has a weird obsession with his sister. Either she was supposed to be his girlfriend earlier in development or Aiden is just weird and obsessive.
After the first two games were kinda fun, this one was absolutely horrible. The Legion mechanic is absolutely not worth pursuing, and all the missions are absolute chores. Characters are absolutely one dimensional and are rebellious in a way a 14yo in his edgy phase is. Save your money.
The absolute best open world game you will have played so far. The game world is beautiful, the characters are amazing. Everything and everyone can be interacted with, and the world is amazingly immersing. The main character is so relatable that after a long day of hunting, I found myself laying down to sleep after what I truly felt was a hard days work. Now to me this game is something like a 9.7. The only reason it´s not a 10 is that the story sadly tanks massively around the middle and in the epilogue. Around these points it is amazing, one of the best I ever had the honour of experiencing, but during said points playing felt like a bit of a chore. Don´t let that stop you though, it still is absolutely one of the most amazing games out there.
First off - the positive. The game looks and feels great. The atmosphere is amazing and the attention to detail is huge. I really enjoyed the story as well, it didn´t bore me one bit and made we want to come back to the game as much as possible. The negative - the gameplay. The gameplay is pretty boneless. You are introduced to basically all mechanics right at the start and then they stay that way. The idea of mixing some platformer elements into this adventure game worked out well, but it lacks substance. That combined with the at times really difficult camera angle making you not able to see where you´re supposed to go and where you will fall to your death left a lot to desire for. Overall I would still recommend the game, just to experience the world and the story. They made up for the lacking gameplay so much, that I can´t bring myself to rate this game any less than a 7.
Maybe one of the best games ever made. The graphics are great, even 10 years after the game first released. Story is great and captivating and there´s lots of stuff to do around the map. Great game, a must play for everyone.
Great game, great story. Nico is one of the most relatable GTA characters to this game. The PC port is an absolute shame though. Even on modern hardware the game runs worse than GTA V, with some absolutely devestating framedrops especially in the night. I would definitely recommend playing it though.
The game is just absolutely great. Story is amazing, missions are fun. Especially near the end, some missions are way too hard (flying a toy plane) but thats the only thing to critizise about the game.
I really enjoyed this game. The story is great, the visuals are stunning. The game play gets switched up a lot and does not get boring at any point during the game. The atmosphere in the game feels genuine and can make you get lost in the world of Days Gone for hours. I´m deducting two points for two reasons though. The first deducted point is for technical faults. I played this game with an Xbox-Controller, which does work but is poorly implemented. The UI elements randomly switch to keyboard controls without me touching keyboard or mouse. This does not happen in any other game for me, so I guess its not a hardware fault. This can be extremely annoying, when during a quick-time event you have to think about what the F-key on the keyboard is on the controller now, leading to a lot of failed QTE´s. The pause menu also pops up at random intervals, gladly not often enough to be frustrating. The second point deducted is difficulty spike. Without spoiling anything: There´s a point in the game where an overly hard and frustrating game mechanic is introduced (you´ll know what I mean when the word "Chemult" gives you nightmares). It is an unskippable part of the story multiple times and requires a whole bunch of grinding and multiple tries every time. The game could have done without it.
I kinda still liked this one. After the absolutely terrible Syndicate where it really felt like the concept of the "old" Assassin's Creed games was kinda done, I was happy to see them trying to mix things up. And I liked Origins for that, it was something new. The story was predictable but okay. I enjoyed it, it was mild entertainment. The levelling system however is a whole different issue, which prevents me from giving this game a positive score. Story missions reward you with way too little XP, so you basically have to do side missions. And they are the most boring things you will ever play. They consist of item fetching from the other side of the map, killing five people etc etc. Repetative stuff. Overall, I think you should check this game out if you got nothing better to play. It is enjoyable.
This game was truiy a mixed bag for me. I felt like it ran just fine. The world is beautiful and well designed. But the levelling system is absolute garbage. Main story missions suggest a certain level you should be on, but reward you with way too little XP when you complete them. This leads to side missions pretty much being mandatory. And they ****. The side missions are really the most boring, repetative missions you could probably ever design. Most of them just consist of a character losing something / someone on the other side of the map. Go there, get it / them and go back. Half an hour spent. The story itself was pretty mid, but it was just interesting enough to make me do all the side stuff in order to level up. I can only really recommend this game if you truly liked Origins.
Ubisoft has been spending their time stuffing more and more busy work in Assassin's Creed in the last couple of games. Unfortunately, this game is a continuation of that. There is so much to do, but none of it is fun. This combined with the story being so slow lead to me not being able to finish the game. I tried multiple times, but every time I feel like the story is not worth doing all the boring work I would have to do in order to experience it.
Ishin is definitely not the strongest entry in the franchise. For me personally, it was a little better than Yakuza 3. The fighting system is fun, the story is good. What it lacks in my opinion are the diverse and interesting side quests all the other Yakuza games had. The story also doesn´t grip me as much as the other Yakuza titles did for some reason. Still, a very good game. I enjoyed it a lot and can recommend picking it up.
It´s alright, the expectation the price set kinda matches. It´s basically like an extended Papers Please, but with a lot more busy work around it. Replayability is very low and most choices don´t matter too much, apart from the ones where it´s obvious. Overall I enjoyed the game though. I completed it with like a couple of weeks of not playing it in between.
