I was so gripped by the plot that when I got the ending, I reached out to the developer himself to ask “Really? Was that it? Did I do something wrong? Surely, there’s more!”, and while I can’t give away any of the specifics of the response, I eagerly await any and all news surrounding this project. The Operator has won me over as a fan, and if you’re someone who enjoys puzzle-solving, and immersive cinema, The Operator is definitely a must-play.

The Operator, developed by Bureau 81, is a video game of very good quality due to the many options it offers in solving the various puzzles it puts into play, also demonstrating a remarkable attention to discovery and reading, which Bastien Giafferi himself has never hidden as his great passion. The title, capable of engaging, could lead you to reflect on society and what really matters.

Developer Bureau 81’s ability to file The Operator down to its best components and focus solely on what works is its biggest asset. It’s not a bloated campaign with an equal balance of tacky and tactful puzzles. Instead, it’s a taut collection of cases that work in tandem to create a gripping adventure that encourages savvy problem-solving. It’s all cushy desk work, but The Operator makes examining phone records and enhancing grainy security camera footage just as exciting as tiptoeing through an enemy base with a silenced pistol.

As a narrative puzzle game, The Operator is very good. It never feels unsolvable, but isn't insultingly easy either, and presents itself with some nice touches.

The best words I can possibly use to describe The Operator is that never once during my playthrough of this game did I wish I was on the other end of the phone call, in the heat of the action in the field, ducking under gunshots and evading danger. Bureau 81 has somehow made being Alfred more exciting than being Batman.

The Operator presents a number of fun puzzles and situations and gives you a story that is compelling, if rather clumsy. It’s about 5 hours long and manages to be entertaining throughout. Once it’s over, you might find yourself unsatisfied by its strict straightforwardness and the short leash it keeps you on. However, if you’re able to settle into the rigidity, you’ll find something enjoyable but hollow.

The Operator borrows a bunch of strong puzzle concepts and uses them to good and imaginative effect, but it throws in a few dud sections and its well-paced thriller story is sadly lacking in depth.

Des retournement de situations intelligent et marquant le jeu paraît simple et répétitif mais non à essayer

You are forced to play as an imbecile in order to advance the mediocre plot.
But the gameplay and the storytelling are good

This is another Mevis Beacon teaches typing, but worse since the word crawls are SO Slow. I don't care how fast other people read, playing this game is torture. If I have no options, why do I even have to click anything? There's nothing to detect, but your patience for waiting . WTF do I need to wait for 10 seconds for an upload? I have the actual internet for that BS. Why can't I scrub video and audio files immediately. It's like one of those games designed to make you play outside the refund window by adding pointless bloat. No thanks.

Short Experience based game with no Replayability that feels specifically designed to just barely hit the 2 hour requirement to no refund on Steam as the majority of the time you spend is spent on glorified loading screens (some of which are as long as 3 minutes) Some people are saying this is a 4-5 hour game, it isn't if you actually focus on the puzzle in front of you, and not just reading lore, it's 3 hours at best and as low as 2 at worst, and I suspect if I were to have removed all the time I was waiting for one thing or another to load 1.5 hours at most. Feels like there is a great game here if the Dev decided to actually flesh out and continue using any of the mechanics in the game to be more ****, but alas this is what we get.
