Interstellar

An absolute masterpiece delivered to us by Christopher Nolan, Interstellar is a space-settled story of human dreams, love and sins. Typical Nolan's focus about time feels great and gives us two not-so-different point of views on humanity. Most heartful Nolan's movie so far. Hopefully not the last one.

I am heartbroken, I truly am; this film could have been done so much better, and it being such a huge success makes me worry about the future of the MCU. The same MCU that had always tried to get out of the comfort zone, to innovate, to deviate from certain canons, this time tried in every way to reassure the fans, to give them just what they wanted without daring a bit or writing a good script, all of this in order to avoid diverting attention from returning characters, a thing always hoped for by fans. Before this movie came out I thought of two alternatives: it could have been a mediocre movie with great fan service or a great movie with poor fan service. Well, I'm afraid to say what I saw was a bad movie with poor fan service. In fact, the problem with the movie is not only how much it lacks in substance and how it is put on the screen but also the fan service itself which, as it came through, was weird, patchy, stale and bland. The entry of those two characters on the scene was the most forced thing I have ever seen, and I really can't stand the thought I have waited two years to see such a minimal interaction among the three characters and such a boring and hasty final battle (with recycled scenes too). Plus, the movie seems to have no actual second act, same thing happened to Dark Phoenix and just like in Dark Phoenix the main actor stated that the script was written during filming, and it shows. This movie is the worst possible answer to Scorsese and his "theme parks", I have always disagreed with this statement and if it wasn't true before, with very few exceptions, this movie makes me question it, as I don't think No Way Home is definable in any other way. As far as I'm concerned it is among the worst 5 MCU movies and the worst Spider-Man live action movie, and you have no idea how heartbreaking it is for me to say that. After excellent and innovative products such as Wandavision and Eternals, 2021 Marvel for me ends with a huge step back.

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

The movie is definitely not at the level of the first two, even if it is not bad. The only significant aspect is the ending when, without making spoilers, a journey that had been going on for 8 years ends in some ways, and ends in the most appropriate way.

My favorite animated film ever. Madagascar offers an original story that combines humor and feelings, a story of friendship and personal doubts. The underlying message is to push ourselves to improve, despite we may feel wrong, to be able to overcome our negative sides, no matter how difficult it is, to reveal the best version of ourselves. A masterpiece of animation.

The Madagascar sequel, although not at the level of the first movie, is still a wonderful film that focuses on our relationship with others, may they be family, friends or our significant other. Always great humor and non-childish dialogues complete what this film is, another masterpiece of animation.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Wonderful movie, which unfortunately cannot reach the too high levels of its predecessor. Prince Caspian is the non-trivial continuation of the events of the first film. It has a lot more action and intrigue than the previous one, but also less magic and less fidelity to the book. However, this film remains great and those who loved the former will undoubtedly love the latter, which keeps alive the very strong passion of the world of Narnia and its being a sort of meta-narrative. Another masterpiece by Andrew Adamson.

The best fantasy movie and my favorite movie of all time. This masterpiece succeeds in transposing the work of C.S. Lewis on screen and making it absolutely enjoyable and well done at the same time. The first chapter of the Chronicles of Narnia brings us into a fantasy world, beyond the horrors of WWII, where a threat that has been dormant for centuries is re-emerging. It is difficult put into words how perfect this piece of art is, a journey that leaves amazed at 5, 25 and 95 years old, since the more you grow, the more you grasp different nuances, some macroscopic that change a lot the way of understanding the movie. Chapeau to Andrew Adamson for making one of the best films in history, and arguably the best of its kind.

Who said teen movies can't be quality movies? This film, which I consider one of the best 3 films of the Spider, coming right after the first two ones by Raimi. It combines romance, introspection, responsibility and oneiric realities in an excellent way, capturing the essence of Peter Parker even outside the New York context. Top 5 MCU.

Kitsch and cringe. Full of action and shoddy humor. Extremely childish, the only MCU film which makes me agree with Scorsese, a low quality theme park. Exactly the path that cinecomics shouldn't take.

Incredibly rushed. The characters are poorly characterized, the story never really explains what is going on, the third act seems absolutely emotion-free. It wanted to be "fresh" but it looks more like a Spider-Man's parody movie. Exactly everything I don't want to see in a cinecomic, similarly to Thor Ragnarok. Excellent animation style but that's the only reason Id didn't give it a 1. One of the two worst Spider-Man movies I have ever seen.

The final movie of the Infinity Saga is the best cinecomic I've ever seen. It manages to culminate the saga with a movie full of heart and love for the original avengers. First act somehow unexpected, which gives a great idea of the pain that persists through the world after 5 years. The second act is a love letter to the marvelous first adventure of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that lasted 11 years, full of quotes more or less explicit. Breathtaking third act that left me speechless every minute more, leading to the ending that is bittersweet and one of the most beautiful I've ever seen for a film saga. The characters complete 11 years of evolution in a sublime way, Stark and Rogers above all. This and much more is the pearl of the Russo brothers. Easily one of my 3 favorite movies.
