Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

Where Madagascar 3 soars is in its visuals: A Monte Carlo chase is vertiginously madcap; a Cirque du Soleil-style spectacle dazzles with rich pastels; the 3-D effects have wit and invention. Kids will be stimulated. And, parents, you'll enjoy the sights.

Credit Baumbach, credit the filmmakers, credit no one giving a damn anymore - for what's yet another hyperactive talking-animal children's movie, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is uncommonly rewarding, and a potential future stoner's delight.

Hardly fresh, but it never stints on energy or vivid colors.

The clever lines and themes of friendship and finding home are almost completely overwhelmed here by the breathless pace and sensory overload.

Like a big-screen Big Gulp, this third installment of the billion-dollar animated franchise contains as much cinematic confection as an 85-minute movie can bear.

Madagascar 3 apuesta todo al exceso: colores brillantes, persecuciones imposibles y un ritmo acelerado que no da respiro. La película es divertida por momentos y visualmente llamativa, pero pierde parte del encanto y la química que hicieron especial a la primera entrega. Aun así, los personajes secundarios —especialmente los pingüinos— mantienen la energía y el humor. No es la más memorable de la saga, pero funciona como entretenimiento ligero para toda la familia.

Well developed characters continue their antics. I like the different European scenes. I think it was a bit too long for children to sit through, although the kids in the audience were captivated and behaved well.

The basic plot is pleasant even if simple, but the development is very banal as well as the character of the policewoman who is too childish. It is devoid of content and based only on the name of the franchise
