One of the best games I have played of all time. The RPG mechanics in this game are perfect with so many impactful choices to choose from and character and quest arcs to explore. The overall gameplay takes so time getting used to but once you get used to it, it does feel amazing especially when you level and gear up your characters. It does feel great to see the progression of your characters both story and gameplay wise. All the acts are amazing and they each get better after the other. Music, voice acting and animations are a bit buggy. Finding loot or cool items in this game is the best it has ever felt due to the fact that you have 4 or more characters to gear up with so many ways you can actually play the game. Areas and enemies are also very diverse as well. The only critiques I have for this game is that it can be slightly buggy at times and you cannot backtrack to previous areas in previous acts- would have been cool to revisit some areas especially to see how they would have changed with the story but overall it is understandable why they did this. Overall a masterpiece.
Genuinely a step up from the previous game. More items, more enemies and more ways to die. I like the idea of having two different paths at the end of a world to choose from. I didn't play the game as much as the first one but I certainly appreciated it.
A very solid soulslike game that takes a lot of inspiration from Bloodborne, Sekiro and dark souls 3. The bosses are great in this game and they aren't as challenging as most souls game but they are hard enough and fun to fight-the two phase king of puppets is my favourite fight so far. The level design is fairly basic and linear and although it is quite immersive, the lack of variety in the environment does slightly lessen the experience. There is a decent variety of enemies and they are challenging enough. The core gameplay is amazing, combat is solid with lots of weapon and play styles to choose from. The character progression is fairly standard but effective- very clear to see the difference in your characters power from start to finish. The story is okay but the idea of puppets taking over is somewhat interesting. Overall a great soulslike with few flaws.
So your enjoyment of this game genuinely does depend on how you play it. If you like going into a random direction and on a random planet hoping to always find something really interesting, then you will be somewhat disappointed as most planets are nothing special. However if you mostly stick to the main story, side quests and planets with quests/outposts on it then you will get the most out of this game.
Good: So the open world is great, the main planets are very interesting and have distinct stuff on them, neon is a great city to explore. The gunplay was very good and there was so many weapons and items to find. The ship system was great as well especially since there are so many ways to design your ship. The main quests and side quests are good story wise and gameplay wise- one had you sneaking onto a ship and pretending you are a UC solider and another was you constantly shifting between universes. Also the companion system was quite annoying as they would always get aggrivated at everything you did. The lodge was also a very interesting place to be story and character wise as well. Also many characters are very reactive so your actions will usually impact what they say and do quite often. Music is also pretty good.
The amount of loading screens there were really got annoying- every 15-20 minutes you will probably face a 5-second loading screen. They should have made it that you only faced a loading screen when travelling off the planet. The amount of planets that have nothing on it is somewhat of a let down.
Overall a good RPG with so much stuff to do but a lot of it is not great quality
So this game generally improves on everything compared to the first game. The gunplay is great and melee has been improved as swords/hammers feel as if they have more weight to them. The variety of guns, perks, attachments, armour and items are very impressive and this definitely adds a very rewarding element especially when you discover a new weapon or item. The bosses are great especially the final world bosses but some bosses are just upgraded versions of regular enemies so that does lose a few points. The Level design is its greatest asset and its greatest curse as although the procedurally generated level design does keep repeat play-throughs fresh, it means that the level design feels too artificial, which makes it slightly less immersive. The main story is not good but the side stories are fairly well developed and somewhat interesting such as the story with the doe and the wolf was interesting or a ghost in an Asylum. The best area was Losomn as it had the coolest quests- the forest area was decent and the space area was not great in game design and quality. Overall a great game that is more of a looter shooter than it is a souls like.
One of the best RPG's I have ever played. So many choices and decisions you can make and so many ways you can play this game. Amazing weapon and armour variety and the overall gunplay is good (but not amazing). The mostly open world is interesting and finding new locations is great but there is not much variety in environment since most of the map is just a wasteland. This overall immersion of this game is lessened by a few bugs, invisible walls and the game crashing every so often as well. Also although the side quests were mostly amazing with a interesting pathways, sometimes when you discover a location or kill an important character other characters do not react- like when I found the Brotherhood of steel location there was not option to inform the NCR in the dialogue section. Overall an amazing RPG with so many things to do in it.
It is nowhere near as good as any of the souls game but it is a bit fun at times. The open world is quite bland as most of it looks the same as it is the forest. There is not many weapons to use. The weapons that are there are satisfying and the combat is goodish. The turning into stone part is interesting but makes the game so much easier. The bosses were okay and still somewhat fun. The dungeons were also nothing special but still somewhat fun. The best one by far was the snow area as it was somewhat mazelike and had more of a natural level design. Overall a medieocre soulslike that is a bit fun- wouldn't replay it though.
For me this halo game has the worst campaign of all the halo games. Mainly because in this game you have to fight the sentinels the most. It also made you fight the flying drone sentinels the most and that was so annoying. The missions were more boring than other halo games and the story was also very boring and dull- there were a few fun missions though- the one with the massive vehicle. The multiplayer tried to copy call of duty in some ways and so was quite meh. The maps of the multiplayer were quite solid though. Overall a disappointing halo game.
A fun game but there really is not much to it. This game is only really worth playing if you are playing with mates, you can play it for free and you want to have a bit of a laugh. The core gameplay can be fun but can also get super repetitive- especially since there are only a few ways you can win. The maps all generally feel the same and are nothing special. It can be kind of tense when you are running away from Jason and are trying to get to a car or a boat but again this can become really repetitive soon. I also only played this game once the bugs were mostly fixed- can be annoying finding a lobby though.
Some of the level design was good and some missions are alright but it is mostly a below average game. Also characters you play as are mostly unlikable and this makes the story much worse. Also the progression in this game is quite bad as many areas will have much higher enemy levels than your own level, this means you either have to grind on previous levels or the enemies you face will be bullet sponges. Overall not a good game.
So this is a better game than the prequel but it does have more flaws. So the combat is more fluid and cal feeling more powerful does make the game better as well- very Sekiro like combat. The enemy variety in the game is decent and I would say slightly better the prequel. The level design is is alright but its definitely the weakest part about this game as usually there is only way to get around or solve a puzzle, which can feel a bit repetitive and too linear. Also many areas feel like you should be able to reach or jump onto but they are out of bounds- this was a very annoying part of the game. The fall damage system was also irritating as the game would reset if you jump from a slightly high place- this really slowed down the game in a bad way. However despite this the story was mostly great and the boss fights were done well especially Rayvis- Bode at the end was a bit irrational. Overall a great game with fun quests that was let down by too linear level design and being a bit buggy.
Not really much to this game. The mechanics were generally fun but not really much there. The maps were all quite fun as there was a huge variety of different types of maps. The addition of flying out your motorcycle is also quite funny. Different type of bikes were also quite fun. Racing against another person was very fun as well. Overall basic but fun game.
This game was mostly ruined by it being quite unfinished, unpolished, janky to play and textures randomly popping in. This was a great idea and I know it worked on PC but it did not port well to xbox at first. The gameplay loop was still fun although it did feel rather slow and repetitive at times. The map was very fun and the loot system was great. Gunplay felt alright but again unpolished. There did not feel much point to play this game especially when Fortnite seemed like a much more finished game at the time. Despite this, still had fun with the game as there were some very tense moments.
A fun and enjoyable game with one smart mechanic. The idea of having a portal version of PVP is quite fun and they pull it off well. The game is quite basic and the graphics aren't great. The maps are average-good and the gunplay is also alright but nothing special. This was a decent game to play for a while and there was a decent amount of weapon variety as well but it does get a bit boring after a while. Also I don't understand how this game gets a 0 or a 10 but oh well.
A fun and fairly easy Zelda game. Had good but relatively not great dungeons. The story is quite good and Ganondorf is an excellent final boss in this game, especially with the music in the background. The open world is fun when on an island but it can get repetitive sailing all the time. The arena area where you fight a bunch of different enemies by falling down a hole is extremely fun. The best dungeon is either the foresaken fortress or the shadow temple. Overall a great Zelda game let down by some of its dungeons.
So this game generally improves on breath of the wild in every way. The combat is much better especially due to the Fuse system, the dungeons feel a lot more like dungeons in TOTK compared to BOTW divine beasts and the story is a lot more interesting. The open world was somewhat recycled but the additions of the sky islands and depths were very fun to explore (some areas were also very challenging). The bosses in the game were amazing especially since they weren't all the same variant of each other like in BOTW. The physics, building and cooking system are amazing in this game especially since it gives you so many ways to solve a problem. Abilities are also very fun in this game especially the ascend, which is so OP at times. Generally there are not many flaws in this game besides that it reuses some assets from BOTW and although the dungeons are solid, they are not as great as some other 3d Zelda. There are also so many exciting side quests in this game as well such as the mazes and the Yiga Clan- most importantly there is so much to do in this open world and so many different environments to explore. Overall an excellent game that is pretty much a masterpiece especially if you enjoyed BOTW.
The best Zelda game of all time when it comes to open world and game mechanics(except from TOTK). The open world is huge with so much to do in it. There are so many different environments to explore from lava volcanoes to deserts to snow mountains. There are also so many items in this game as well and the outfit and weapon system are amazing. The cooking system is also a genius mechanic as well. The paraglider is also one of the most fun ways to travel in all of gaming. The story is basic but simple and finding the best weapons and the master sword is very fun. Despite the final dungeon being amazing as its essentially an open world castle with various enemies and treasures, the other dungeons and bosses are all bland- they are more puzzles rather than actual temples, which is very annoying. Shrines were fun but got tedious eventually. Overall a masterclass ****.
So the foundations for this game were quite good in terms of the core mechanics and gameplay loop however after you have done a few missions the game gets super repetitive and this is mostly because there is barely any content in the game. This did improve with updates but that was years later. Fighting other players was very fun but they were also hard to find. Controlling ships are also fun but get tedious after a while as well. Had potential but got very boring after a while.
One of the best linear games I have ever played. The combat is amazing and also very intense. This is because the game gives you just about enough ammo to survive but not enough to feel ever safe. The enemy variety is very clever from parasite spiders to flying bugs. A variety of horror-like situations also kept this game intense such as waiting for an elevator whilst being chased by a Verdugo. The Village and the Castle have brilliantly designed chapters and although the island is not as good it still has some great sections- dissection area was very tense. Great variety of weapons. Overall a near masterpiece ****.
Such a disappointing game that had such much hype with it. The gameplay has barely changed since the original and the graphics are arguably worse. The open world is very bland and there is barely anything non-repetitive to do- climbing the tower was somewhat fun and the weapon variety was alright but besides from that it was mostly a disappointing game- story was also terrible. The actual multiplayer was also such a letdown as the maps were so plain and basic. The matches were fairly chaotic but again got very repetitive. Even the home menu for this game was bad.
This game had it all. This is literally the dark souls version of breath of the wild. Bosses and all enemies are very well designed. Open world is a masterpiece and there is literally something to do everywhere. The variety of weapons, spells and items to use was very impressive and it kept the game addictive and replay-able as there was so many ways to beat and explore the game. Radahn is also the best boss in all of soulsborne and one of the best bosses of all time. Another amazing part of the game is Volcano manor- a masterpiece of a side dungeon that has many ways to reach the final boss- the final boss is also amazing as Rykrad is an incredibly fun and cinematic boss fight. The dungeon level designs are mostly perfect as they are not too linear and they give you many things to do in them. Overall a masterpiece ****.
The most cinematic Zelda game there has ever been. Combat is fun and there is so many items to choose from. The story and journey was a masterclass of design. The dungeons are up there with the very best in the series- Arbiters ground and Snowpeak ruins are certainly up there. The final boss fight at the end is the best final boss fight I have ever played - essentially a 4 phase boss fight. The open world is also great and vast but can feel somewhat empty at times. Also although this does make the game feel more epic the start of the game can be quite slow and the killing shadow bugs part of the game can also be annoying. Also there is a vast enemy variety to fight against. Overall a masterpiece ****.
Genuinely a near masterpiece. Nemesis system is one of the best parts **** I have ever experienced. So good that Warner Bros even got a patent for it. Story was good and personal. Bosses/Warchiefs were great as well, final boss fight was a let down but that is the only proper flaw of the game. Combat is also very good as well. Took the best parts of batman and assassins creed and made it better.
It's Zelda Ocarina of time- it basically got everything perfect. Perfect dungeons, perfect open world for its time. Perfect and simple combat for its time. The story was straightforward and simplistic. The side quests that were there were great but it would have been nice if there were more. The bosses were all very fun to fight as well. The item variety was also great. My best dungeon is the 4th temple/ forest temple as its difficult has a nice atmosphere and phantom Gannon was a cool boss fight. Overall this game is a masterpiece.
One of the best level designs I have ever seen in any game. Each area is uniquely designed with its own enemies, environment and story. The combat in the game is vastly improved from the first two, its bosses are the best the series have seen especially its dlc. The best boss is either the Pontiff Sultvahn or Slave Knight Gael. The best area is Ithril of the Boreal Valley. So many great enemies in this game and all of them are such a threat. The level of customisation in ways you can play has also been improved as there are more weapons such as weapons from killing bosses and there are more spells and such. Overall a masterclass of game design.
A darker version of Ocarina of time with a lot more side quests but less dungeons (plus a timer). Amazing dungeons and getting to each individual dungeon was also very fun although some stuff in the open world was really hard to figure out such as needing apona/a horse. The side dungeons were also super fun such as the thieves hideout and the well. The masks were an excellent system that gave this game so much to do in it. Collecting all the masks were very rewarding and interesting - also gave a cool reward at the end as well. The fierce diety mask is probably one of the best rewards in gaming. The best dungeon is the stone temple for obvious reasons. Majora as a boss was also very cool. The open world was also amazing as it was varied and felt alive. Overall a masterpiece of gaming in terms of side quests.
Definitely up there as one of the best games I have ever played. The combat is great with many ways to play as there are so many different weapons, spells and items to use. The level design is one of the best I have ever seen especially because the open world is so interconnected. The locations/areas all feel distinct with mostly well-designed enemies. The bosses are great but some can be pretty annoying such as the bed of chaos- that whole area is quite annoying. My favourite area has to be Anor Londo and my my favourite is the final dlc boss- Manus father of the abyss or Artorias- both amazing bosses that are very challenging.
Pretty much a flawless game. All the missions are excellent in design and story. The enemy variety may have not been huge but there was so many vehicles and weapons the enemies can use it makes fighting them quite addictive and fun. Gun play is extremely enjoyable especially when using certain weapons like the BR and the beam rifle. My favourite mission is the Covenant and the best parts involve taking down scarabs. The multiplayer was also amazing and addictive as well. Overall a masterclass of an FPS game.
This was a very iconic DS game for me. I remember the first level so well as I played it so many times- the prisoner fortress level is probably its best as it has quite a dark atmosphere and is very immersive. Although the combat is so basic, it was still quite a fun linear game as there was so many different locations and quite a few different enemies. I wouldn't replay it but its a decent childhood game.
One of the best Mario games I have ever played. Its level design and level variety was amazing. From deserts to Lava areas there was so many different types of levels and enemies to get pass. There were also a lot of fun power ups to utilise. The Bowser was also a great final boss with him chasing you as a massive monster was very tense. Overall an amazing DS game.
The gameplay is amazing and the maps are also very well designed. Very different from a lot of FPS shooters as it is one of the fastest shooters I have played. There is a wide variety of guns, abilities and titans which make most games very different. My favourite ability is the one that gives you a camo as it allows you to sneak up on enemies. The grappel is also very fun. Attrition is my favourite mode and defending the objective mode was also very fun. The campeign was great as well especially with a few particular moments including the mission where you can change the time you are in and the arena mission. The story was a bit meh. Overall a great FPS.
So the core gameplay is generally fun and all the maps are fairly well designed but it does not have too much to offer. The sequel was for sure way better but still was fun at the time. The titan gameplay was a bit clunky.
Did not play the campaign much. The multiplayer was alright but the maps were not great. The gunplay was as always good. The zombies was a mixed bag. I liked the map design mostly but the idea of having certain tasks to do during the game otherwise the game ends like in the second map is very annoying. I also really disliked the upgrade system for guns- they should have stuck to the pack a punch system. The eco suit system was interesting to be honest but giving it to zombies did not work very well. Overall an alright call of duty game that has some good and some bad parts to it.
The best rougelike game I have played in terms of combat and story. I beat the game well over 10 times just to unlock the final ending and to use different weapons as well. The gun weapon was the best especially when you get the upgrade for making the explosion area bigger and more damage. The music and graphics were also very good. It is let down a bit due to the bosses being a bit repetitive after a while especially the dragon head boss and the area boss. The upgrade system is also very smart especially with the mix of powerups annd buffs.
Basically a remake version to link to the past. Combat is great with lots of news items such as the fire and ice staff. The dungeons are also great, my favourite dungeon is either the thieves hideout dungeon or the shadow dungeon (the dark one). The open world is also great especially exploring the differences between the light and dark world. The arena on the mountain was also really fun as well. All boss fights were great and I love how you can upgrade the master sword with special ores. Overall an amazing game that got all the basics right.
Despite some flaws consisting of the game being sometimes too linear, the start of the game taking too long and fighting demise 3 times- it is still a very good game. The dungeons are all mostly great and has some amazing bosses. My favourite dungeon is the sandship dungeon. The 3 distinct areas are all quite fun to explore but the some part of the level can feel quite linear. The items and combat is fun as per usual but the using the Wii remote to aim does get quite frustrating. The open sky world is fun but not much stuff is to do there. Overall an excellent game with some flaws.
This game has amazing story, amazing combat and great level design. Very smart giving us two perspectives of the Masterchief and the Arbiter. The multiplayer was also amazing for its time as well. The only flaw I see with this game is the fact the legendary mode is a bit broken as the enemies have way too much health and can one hit you- Second weakest entity in the game.
An amazing driving game that an iconic maps, iconic characters and very fun challenges. Some of the challenges include even fighting some mythic hands. My favourite map is either bowsers castle or the rainbow map due to its difficulty. Definitely was a must play for all Nintendo players.
So in terms of core gameplay the multiplayer and Campaign are at least 8/9 out of 10. The campaign has a lot of fun guns and items to use, and those items make the campaign a great sandbox campaign. The Grappelshot is an excellent addition to halo and makes gameplay a lot better. The gunplay is very good and a lot better than halo 4 or 5. However the story in the campaign is mediocre at best and the villain is very bland- I don't know why they didn't have Atriox as the main villain. Also the open world. was nice at first but it is all essentially the same environment so there is almost no variety. There is a bit of enemy variety. Multiplayer has good gameplay but barely any content, which is very frustrating. Overall a good foundation but not much to it.
Just a lego game done mostly right. The open world was not too big but was cool seeing all the locations from the movies. Very good level design with its missions. A lot of the characters play the same so when unlocking them is a bit disappointing and lazy from a game design perspective. Lego perspective on harry potter was kind of funny. Also one of the side missions to get more coins included Harry Potters old muggle neighbourhood and that was very fun. Like most lego games still fun collecting all the characters.
So combat is amazing in this game as it essentially gives you 3 developed styles of playing; stealth, range and warrior- so it makes this game a lot more replayable as there are so many ways to approach a mission. The story is good as some characters can be interesting but there is so much padding in this game and it does somewhat ruin it- like one quest made you destroy snakes hiding in a vase. Also the micro transactions to level up were also annoying. The mythical bosses were all amazing to fight but had somewhat too much health. The loot system was fun but also too much at times. Also the mini wars was a nice addition as well. Hard to choose between an 8 or a 9. First dlc was awful though.
An underrated game for sure on the gamecube. The combat is quite basic and the game is very short. However the level variety is good the puzzles are fun and so are the bosses. My favourite bosses are there dragon boss or the gem boss at the end as it was quite tense. The puzzles were very basic but fun none as well. The variety of levels and worlds were also quite nice as well. Overall a fun gamecube game.
Great game, has a very addictive combat loop. Lots of items and wide variety of enemies to fight. Garlic is so satisfying to use every run as well. The base game could do with more levels.
This review is being done with all the updates. So in terms of core gameplay it is actually quite fun and choosing different force users was very satisfying as they all have different abilities. My favourite hero was Obi Wan as it was so fun pushing people off the cliff and getting a death by gravity kill. The best mode was the Hero's Vs villains espcailly the showdown mode as it was quite intense at times. Overall a fun star wars game if you are playing the updated version.
Did not play the campaign but the multiplayer was goodish gameplay. The maps were quite basic as they were essentially just three lane maps most of them. The gunplay was solid like most cod games. The loot boxes were a terrible idea as all the loot boxes items looked the same. The zombies was alright- I liked the horror atmosphere and the map was alright but again not great. I did not like the fact that the Easter egg was given as a quest line rather than hidden. Overall an okay Call of duty game.
More of a dlc then a fully fledged game, the escapists the walking dead had some fun missions and the idea of trying to escape whilst being hunted by zombies is quite fun. It is not as hard or as smart as the first game as it often requires less planing than some of the prisons in the original. It does sometimes get repetitive and is quite bare bones but if you liked the first game then you might like this one.
So the campaign is below average as although the gunplay is good some of the level design really annoyed me. For example if you shoot a civilian you have to restart the level, which just breaks immersion. If you go in a certain area then it says must return to mission area and this also breaks immersion. The story was nothing special. The multiplayer was quite meh and the maps were not fun as there was barely anything interactive in the maps. Like you can't even jump on some cars. The movement system with the jetpack was nothing special as we have seen it so many times before. The zombies was alright but not as good as black ops zombies. The boss zombie was quite fun to fight and the actual map itself was fairly well designed- I was not the biggest fan of making zombies more goofy though. Overall a mediocre game.
So I didn't touch the campaign so I cannot review it but as for the multiplayer it was great combat wise. It was essentially black ops 2 but with a jetpack and wall running(which were fairly fun). The maps were as also decent. The zombies were amazing in the release of this game. Shadows of evil is one of the best maps of all time. The Magwa was a very fun boss zombie and the variety of stuff to do on the map kept it replayable. The dlc in this game was also amazing but is not included in this review. The gobble gum system was annoying at first but then got better. Overall a great game with an amazing zombies map.
Very Mediocre game. It was kind of cool fighting huge Kaiju monsters but the combat and gameplay was so basic and simplistic. Did not play this game for much long as there are so many. other better fighting games out there.
Not really much wrong with this game. All the levels are amazing although I do find the water levels most boring. The ship and castle levels are probably the most fun. The variety of levels make this game amazing. The variety of enemies if also impressive. Bowsers castle is also an amazing level. It's just an iconic game that has so many amazing levels to play.
