I leveled a main and got the loremaster achievement, but I just don't have interest in continuing the play. The story just isn't gripping me and I'm not interested in the gear grind. Something about WoW hasn't hooked me for the past few expansions and I can't put a finger on it.
Enjoyed the game, but I was glad when I finally finished. It is a very dark game, both visually and theme. If you don't like walking around really dark environments with jump scares, while solving puzzles, this game isn't for you.
I am really enjoying the story and the expansion. The story really take a left turn at one point which has been enjoyable, and I am looking forward to see where this all goes. I do think some of the criticism about the amount of story vs action/combat is justified. I would like more quests mixed in with some action. A lot of the quest are story beats and then go talk to someone else about more story, or go pick up a few items and come back. There doesn't seem to be as much combat with this MSQ. Still though, the dungeons are great and I am loving the game.
I'd give this game a 7.5, but I can definitely understand why people give this a 9 or a 10. I think the exploration is fun, the graphics are great, and the aesthetic is really cool. However, what I have come to realize is that I personally just don't like rhythm games all that much. If rhythm games are you're thing, I can easily see this being a 10/10 game. I enjoyed the rhythm mechanic during most fights, but the sections where I had to follow button prompts on screen to press a big button and open up a new path were just tedious and took me out of the fun. I also hated when the game gated me off and made me match some button combo to the beat to parry lasers from flying robots. These moments when the game forces you to do these things just felt so annoying and disruptive. I got to chapter 6 which I think is about half way and I had to put the game down because I was annoyed. Maybe I'll come back to it later if my backlog is empty.
Incredible game that is right up my alley. Fantastic RPG, open world, interesting characters, amazing story, and amazing gameplay. I can't wait for the final game in the trilogy.
Very fun game but some repetition at the end game got a bit grindy. The combat system, choice of characters, upgrades, are all excellent. The graphics are flashy and enjoyable. I'd really recommend the game for anyone who likes RPG games.
CP2077 just doesn't jive with me for some reason. I agree, the graphics are nice, even on a PS5, but I just don't find the combat or the story that engaging. Maybe part of the problem is that I just focused on status to make the guns better, and they all just feel basically the same. There just isn't that much variation between the guns for me. Regarding the story, maybe I just don't like cyberpunk, because all the fake techno babble just sounds stupid as s**t. I'm a tech person so to me, it just sounds like complete made up nonsense. I find myself just annoyed at the way everyone talks and Johnny is just a dbag.
Historically I don't like turn based games but BG3 is very good. Great story, lots to do, lots of customization, etc. Definitely an amazing game if you are into DnD and turned based combat.
Loved it. Great story, incredible boss fights, and amazing combat. Some of the side quests are pretty boring and the performance mode was trash. If you are a FF or dmC fan, you'll find something to like here.
I can see how it is a really good game but I am not sure I like resource constrained survival horror games anymore. I loved RE4 because I never felt like I was that short of ammo but in Dead Space I found it annoying to have to manage. Constantly running out of ammo or med packs. I think I prefer horror games that let me just go ham and blast through zombies.
I had skipped RE4 when it originally was released, not sure why. I'm glad they released this remake, it is a fantastic game. Great combat, great story, great graphics, and fantastic audio. Loved the game from start to finish.
I don't think this is a bad game but it is also not a great game. Cuff is annoying even when his responses are turned down to minimal. The writing overall isn't top tier but it isn't as bad as people were making it out to be. The combat and movement are the best part about the game and they are really fun. My only complaint on the combat is that all the cool abilities aren't unlocked until right before the last missions. I didn't have the patience to 100% the game so I didn't use the new cool abilities much before finishing the game.
Good game, 7.5, but far from being a masterpiece. The controls and gameplay are still not great, better than the first game but still clunky. I really enjoyed the story, it was a good continuation of the first game but Hugo did start to get on my nerves about 2/3s of the way through the game. Regarding the graphics, they are good but I don't think they are that great. The game runs at 30 FPS and has drops all over the place. In addition to that, the animations aren't very good. Animations in the cutscenes are really distracting and the gameplay animations are very stiff. I would recommend the game if you enjoyed the first but I would wait for a sale.
I actually think GT7 is fantastic. There is a ton of content, I love the car RPG elements of the game, and they have been updating with new cars, tracks, and fixes all year. I haven't played a GT game since the PS3 era and it has been great getting back to one. The graphics are hit and miss, sometimes the game looks absolutely amazing and sometimes not so much.
I can see the point of view that it is a very good game but I don't think it is for me. I honestly got bored about half way through the game and gave up. I felt like the entire time I was basically doing one thing, dodge and then slash at the feet of some big boss. Maybe if I had played a magic class I would have had more fun. I think I need a game with a compelling story to keep me engaged and this game doesn't really have that.
Finally went back and finished the game. I really enjoyed the story and I'm looking forward to playing the sequel much more now. I'm only giving this one a 7 because the controls are a little wonky, the animations and lip sync voices don't line up well, and the worst of all is the brain dead AI. The stealth in the game is a joke.
Still one of the best games ever made and now it looks and plays better than ever. If you never played this game before you're in for an amazing experience. If you have played it before, it is like revisiting something you loved over again.
I decided to finally play CP2077 now that the PS5 patch is out. I'm honestly not that impressed and I was really expecting a more interesting and fun game. The setting of the game is great, I really like the look and feel of Night City, but other than that the game feels old and clunky. The animations are stiff and the cutscenes just don't have any sort of weight to them. To be fair, I just finished Horizon Forbidden West and the animations and cutscenes in that game are top notch and it makes CP feel like a game from 2 generations ago. The combat is also just okay, I don't think there is anything wrong with it but it doesn't do anything special for me. I focused on a LMG / shotgun build so maybe some of the other specialties are better. At this point I'm a little bored with the game so I'm just rushing through the story to finish it and I don't think I'm going to bother with more of it.
If you enjoyed the first game or open world action games in general you'll love this one. The enemies are unique, the combat is fun, the world is interesting, and it is without a doubt the best looking game ever released. I know some people have experienced odd bugs but I've only noticed some pop in here and there but it isn't a huge issue. I'm playing on the PS5 in resolution mode.
I completely pass on Death Stranding when the original came out because it looked a little too weird and I feel into the trap that the gameplay was just walking across the US making deliveries. When the director's cut came on for the PS5 I decided to finally give the game a try after all the hype and I am glad I did. I can see how this is not a game for everyone and some of the first hours are pretty tedious. The story is also very weird and I think Kojima was dropping acid when he thought it up. With that said I did start to enjoy the story and game loop once I got a few hours into the game. Once you get access to vehicles and tools like the zip line, the game is much better. The graphics on PS5, music, and tone of the game all come together really really well, it is actually pretty amazing how beautiful the game is even though the world is basically destroyed. This game looks and sounds better than many "next-gen" games like Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, and RE Village. With all those positives out of the way there are some issues. Like I said the first few hours are a bit slow and this game really isn't for everyone. It is generally a slow paced game with sporadic action mixed in. I found the section of the game in the snow covered mountains a bit draining, I wish that was shortened a little bit. Beyond those complaints, I am really enjoying the game and I wouldn't skip it. If you're not sure about it, buy it on sale.
Keep in mind this review is from the perspective of someone who hasn't played Halo since the 360 so I am not as familiar with the recent story. The single player campaign is a 6/10 for me. The first hour or so before you get into the open world is a boring slog. Some of it looks good but some of it looks really bad. The animations on some of the enemies looks good but the cutscenes are pretty horrible. The main bad guy is cliche and seems very one dimensional. I don't really care about his threats, who he is, or anything about him. Once you get outside it does get better but it is just not that great. The open world looks okay but things in the distance look bad, some of the effects are terrible (tire tracks), and it just looks like a game from 4 years ago. I also find pilot annoying, he just complains the whole time and the open world is just okay. When I'm playing it I just keep thinking is this game better than other open world FPS games and I keep coming back to the same answer, no. It doesn't look better, the world isn't better, the story is weak, etc. If it wasn't Master Chief I think people wouldn't be giving this game anything above an 8, the nostalgia is definitely boosting a lot of these scores. I would say if you aren't invested n the Halo universe then you're not going to love this game. You'll probably have a decent enough time but it really isn't all that. Don't trust anyone who's giving this game a 10/10, they have rose tinted glasses on.
Very good game but there are some issues for me that keep it from being amazing. The combat still feels a little bit clunky at times, the animations and flow just aren't as smooth for example as Spider Man 2018 or Miles. I don't want to only compare it to Spiderman and Miles but the story isn't quite as good. It is still a very good story but when I think about it compared to other narrative games it just doesn't hold up as well. The one thing that really annoyed me throughout the play through is the "huddle up" mechanic. It was dumb, jarring in combat, and just seemed unnecessary.
I think this is a great game and I wish I could give it an 8.5 but I'll round up. The story was good, the graphics are amazing, and I found the combat pretty good. I think if Ember Labs could improve the combat in the next game by making it a bit more deep, more moves and growth, it could be a truely amazing game.
The game has a ton of issues including bugs, performance, and questionable design changes but I'm still having fun with it. I do think there is a good game under all the bugs and performance problems. The design changes are what they are and I'm not happy with all of them but I can still have fun with the game.
Fantastic game that is probably the best looking game ever released. If you're a fan of previous R&C games you'll feel right at home. The gameplay is very similar to the previous games which is not a bad thing. Lots of guns, enemies, and amazing set pieces. Highly recommended for PS5 owners.
Loved the 2018 Spiderman and this is more of that greatness. I love the music and atmosphere of the game as well. It is still NYC but there is a new tone to the game and that's great.
Good: It is a Battletoads game which were great back in the day. Bad: This game is at best an okay mobile game. Ugly: This is the best we can get on the XBox One
It is a technical achievement but the game is a cash grab hidden behind Gamepass. If you want higher quality airports for some major locations you need to buy the more expensive versions. You want more planes, you need to pay for the high price versions of the game. Gamepass is a monthly subscription service, why do you have to pay more for the fully featured game. This is the future of MS games and their games as a service GamePass.
Fantastic game and a really great way to close out the PS4 generation. The graphics and combat are simply amazing and the story is interesting enough to keep me playing. After getting burned out on AC Origins and Odyssey I was a bit skeptical on open world games but this game is much more fun. There isn't nearly as much nonsense filler as the AC games and the filler that is in there is generally better.
Oh how disappointing it is to see a great developer fall so far. This is a terrible "remaster" **** game. I'm giving it a 0 because it is a worse version than the original and now I can't even play the original unless I uninstall and revert to an earlier version. Total crap.
