Tony Hawk's Project 88
Sep 20, 2017
Coming here 10 years down the line, I have to say it for those in the back: TONY HAWK'S PROJECT 8 IS NOT A BAD SKATING GAME, it's a bad Tony Hawk's Game. Now when I say 'bad' I don't mean it's a terrible game that doesn't work, I mean that it's extremely disappointing for a Tony Hawk Game game. For it's time Project 8 didn't really throw all that much new stuff into the mix compared to previous Tony titles, but I personally think (having gone back to it recently) that this game does a fantastic Job of just being **** the Xbox 360 version at least. The reason I say this is because the Xbox 360 (& PS3) versions had no loading screens between areas, making it an open-world skating game before SKATE. The world may have been on the small side compared to SKATE, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't and don't still enjoy just skating around the open world doing combos. This missions in this game ranged from extremely fun and satisfying to extremely unfair and rage-worthy, but I never felt like I HAD to complete every single mission to its best. Heck, the game basically ends once you reach rank 8. since all you unlock for reaching rank 1 is some extra skaters, tricks and a Pro Bails Video. So I'm pretty grateful for that, it meant I could just enjoy what was on offer and not be forced to do a mission I hated or just found really hard, I could just take my time. Project 8 isn't perfect, but it makes an effort, and I respect that.

Red Faction: Guerrilla8
Sep 20, 2017
This game is almost 10 years old now, pretty much old enough for a quick, touched up nostalgic review. Red Faction: Guerrilla is as original as it gets for an open-world action game. It puts you in control of a character called mason as he arrives on mars to meet his brother and join a mining workforce. Quickly you discover that the military present on the planet for the "protection" of the civilians is in fact treating them like expendable garbage, so you are dragged into a rebel group called the "Red Faction", who have tasked themselves with removing the military presence from the planet, thus freeing its people. The Gameplay for this game includes your basic third-person shooter stuff as well as a mission system based around exploration and destruction. The destruction engine is unlike anything ive seen before or since, with every single building structure in the game fully-destructible with the wide variety of tools at your disposal. Speaking of which, the many unlockable weapons of this game are spectacular, giving you various ways of attacking your enemies, taking down buildings and even just getting around. It's just plain fun. Their are several areas in the game all with generally different looking environments. The first area that you start in is Parker, which has not been altered by any sort of machines like other sectors and so looks much like the rest of mars, except very lived-in. Other areas include Oasis (An area of mars altered so plants could grow, meaning its covered in grass), Dust (The mining centre on mars where all ore comes from) and Mount Vogel (A very cold place covered with snow). So as you can tell, the game has varying environments that are all extremely fun to screw around in and explore. Having finished this game again recently, I can happily say it holds up just as well today as it did when it released in 2009.

Sonic Mania IS Sonic 4. This game is everything fans of the original sonic games could possibly ask for. It is a sonic game crafted by fans, for fans with so much passion and creativity you'll definitely play it more than a few times. Every level, every piece of music and every sprite animation is absolutely perfect and fills you with nostalgia. with tons of new mechanics, It's just as challenging (if not more) than the originals with tons of ways to play and a bunch of unlockables for those secret/achievement hunter types. THIS IS HOW YOU REVIVE A FRANCHISE.

Unbox: Newbie's Adventure8
Aug 5, 2017
Unbox: Newbie's Adventure is one of the silliest 3D platformers in modern gaming. If you are looking for a traditional 3D platforming/collectathon experience, then this is yet another game in a growing list of new releases this year that fits the bill. The game is rather small, all things considered, but for $20 you are dropped into a colourful world filled with silly characters and plenty of collectables that (despite its lack of worlds) still provides many many hours of fun, whether by yourself or with friends. The first thing I took notice of with this game is it's unique control scheme. In the game, you play as a delivery box (all the character are boxes) and this can be a little disconcerting at first because...well, how do you control a box? How does that work? Well allow me to explain. Your box character might be a box, but it has full 360 rotation allowing you to move around with ease. You have 2 moves you can use, Slam and Unbox. Slam is used to knock out and destroy enemies while Unbox is a unique mechanic designed specifically to help you get around. You see, your box character is actually made of many boxes inside each other, and each unbox gives you a huge jump boost but also uses one of these boxes inside you which act as your health. This jump boost mechanic allows you to traverse huge distances really quickly, which is needed to get around the extemely large worlds. Speaking of the worlds... There are 3 major worlds and a hub world in this game, technically making 4 areas in total. The hub world only has the collectables in it whereas the 3 major worlds all have mission and secrets aswell. Each world is it's own huge open area with tons of NPC's, missions, collectables and secrets that all ofer something unique and fun. Exploring them is an absolute treat and I only wish there were more. All in all I think Unbox: Newbie's Adventure is a wonderful addition to the growing list of 3D platformer releases this year. There was a clear passion and ambition behind this game and I absolutely love it.

Q.U.B.E. Director's Cut9
Jul 24, 2017
Q.U.B.E. is an incredible puzzle game in the exact same vein as portal. You wake up to a voice telling you that you are inside a giant alien cube that is threatening the earth and you need to destroy it from within, you then traverse through many rooms with many different and ever changing puzzles, all the while being motivated every so often by the voice you heard when you awoke. Eventually, that voice is interjected by another that tells you things are not what they seem, making you question what you're doing as you continue. I'm going to split this review into 2 major sections; Puzzles & Story. First, the Puzzles. The puzzles in this game are some of the most clever I have had the pleasure to solve, ranging from gravity to electricity and beyond, the game is constantly changing, which makes sense in relation to the story, since you are inside an alien cube that is constantly changing. I won't detail every kind of puzzles you'll come across, but I'll tell you one of my favorites types, which was the "ball challenges". These challenges consisted of a long hallway, many varying colored cubes that all move in different ways, and a ball that you must slowly move down the hallway past one puzzle obstacle after another. This being one of many types of puzzles in this game, i was surprised by how simple these ones turned out to be compared to many other puzzles in the game. Trust me, the ball puzzles actually seem hard at first glance, but you soon see otherwise. Other later game puzzles like the gravity challenges, consist of rooms with cubes that move towards magnet pads you can interact with, meaning you must push and pull these cubes in certain ways with the gravity of the magnets as well as the varying colored cubes that move in different ways in order to get them where they need to be. All in all the puzzles in this game are just the right amount of fun, hard and rewarding to make you enjoy solving them from start to finish. The story of this game (without giving too much away) is a very simple one by concept, as the entire point throughout the game is for you to question everything. The voices talking to you, who you supposedly are and of course, where you actually are. So as you traverse the game solving it's many puzzles, you are also drawn to try and understand what is really going on, what really is at the end of it all? It's kind of a shame that once you've beat the game once and know the truth that you cannot experience that again, but that's really my only gripe, the puzzles in this game (plus the bonus time trials challenges) give it enough replay value that the story kinda comes second in all playthroughs after your first. All in all Q.U.B.E. is a very well put together puzzles game that offers a plethora of varying, ever changing puzzles that never stray from the core mechanic and keep you wanting more throughout. I'd be hard pressed to not recommend this game to anyone who loves a good brain teaser. Portal, eat your heart out.

Yooka-Laylee7
Jun 28, 2017
To start, I'd like to say I was a backer of this game on Kickstarter. I won't disclose how much I backed it for here, but I'll say it was quite a lot. I'd also like to say I honestly don't regret backing this game, even though it turned out not to be as good as I (and many others) expected it to be. I can't say I'm not disappointed with this game, but I want to be one of the reasonable people who tells you it isn't as bad as many have said. It certainly isn't flawless, but it still has a charm to it. There are parts of the game where you can clearly see the effort that went into it. As far as I'm concerned, this game was pretty much what was promised by Playtonic, although most of us agree that may not have been the best thing now that we've played it. I'd like to take you through my personal quarrels with the game before telling you the things I liked. For starters, the story was not as charming as classic rare titles, the characters didn't really have that same importance or personality that characters had in classic titles. The game does nothing new with the 3D platformer/collectathon genre and just simply copied Banjo-Kazooie (for the most part) in its style. I think this is what ticks me off the most about this game, it's entire style is a rip-off of Banjo, and that isn't what most of us wanted. We wanted a Banjo style game yes, but we wanted something new with that formula, not the exact same stuff. The game has a neat variety of levels to explore, all expandable by using pagies you collect (this games jiggies), but here's the issue, the worlds follow the Banjo-Tooie Style and not the Banjo-Kazooie Style, they are vast expanses that can take a while to fully explore. My major issue with this mixed with world expansion starts with the fact that you don't know when you've collected and done all you can in a non-expanded version of a world, it never tells you what you can and cannot do in a non-expanded world, which makes it really difficult to know if the things your missing are in the expanded version of a world or if you can get them before expanding it and with worlds being as large as they are (and with no warp points like Banjo-Tooie), getting around them to explore and find the last few missing items in non-expanded (or even expanded) worlds is an annoying, unnecessary headache that Playtonic honestly should have realised was bad design. My last real quarrel with the game is Rextro's minigames. Whoever designed a couple of these needs to be thrown into the nearest volcano. Up N Over and Hurdle Hijinx (especially the latter). These two mingames were by far the things that angered me the most out of anything in this game. Hurdle Hijinx is especially poorly designed as a mini-game, it took me over 4 and a half hours to do because I have terrible hand/eye co-ordination. It is hugely flawed and I'm pretty sure thousands of players would agree with me. Now with all my personal problems with the game out of the way, I want to tell you what this game does right, starting with how I genuinely felt while playing it. As a huge Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo-Tooie fan I was really hopeful about this game and even through it's flaws I focused on what I found the most fun. For starters, I think the music in this game is fantastic. I know some don't like the tracks, but i think they all fit and are all memorable in there own right. I liked the large worlds (despite what I said above). Whenever I was exploring hunting for pagies and quills (and other secrets!) I felt just like a kid exploring the vast worlds of Banjo-Tooie, or even Spyro. it was actually fun and honestly made me feel like that kid again. The boss of each world was unique (albeit a bit silly in some cases) and were all pretty fun to fight and really reminded me of the banjo-Tooie boss fights. I Loved the hub world (Hivory Towers) and slowly getting through it was fun. Many of the pagies were extremely rewarding to collect and that feeling of success I had solving many of the harder puzzles is unrivalled in all of my gaming history. This game had some serious potential, and it does a heck of alot for copying the banjo formula. My hope would be that Playtonic learns from the flaws of this game and (if it makes another) decides to make something truly worthy of the title 'Rare-vival'

Thrillville: Off the Rails8
May 6, 2017
Thrillville: Off The Rails is fantastic sequal that improves upon everything that made the first game fun, The changes from the first game are as follows: -There are new WHOA! Coaster pieces and crashing coasters. -There are new games such as Coastertron and Robo K.O. along with sequels to existing games such as Sparkle Island 2. -You can see your friends and love interests on a special list which lets you warp to them and they come to whatever park you are in. -Certain games might give you a prize if you score high enough 4 or 5 stars which you can give to people to become friends or love interests faster. -You now have a HQ, where you can edit your character, save your game, view cut scenes, view your trophies, and more. Like the first game, you are once again dropped into the manager position at a newly opened theme park and given a tutorial on how the games mission system works. This is the exact same as the first game, with all mission categories following suit and teaching you everything from the interaction with your park guests to building rides to building game stalls and playing them. The only thing missing is an ability to skip the tutorial entirely, which makes starting a new game annoying sometimes, but the tutorial doesn't take long to finish thankfully. Once you've completed all parts of the tutorial, you are given 'free reign' over the current theme park and may approach available missions as you please. This is the point where the game really starts. There are 5 major parks in the game, each with 3 themed areas. all 3 areas contain 'build spots' where stalls and games can be placed. There will also be 2 spots for building coasters in each area as well. The variety of games/stalls/coasters that can be placed/edited/built is quite amazing and can successfully distract you for very long periods of time, especially when playing the mini-games. mini games are part of the games and stalls, with most games actually being playable as there own mini-game with high score egging you on to get the best scores possible in each. The playable mini-games range in genre from beat em ups to racing and boxing, each offering its own unique flare. My personal bias on this game is rather high considering I played this game a lot when I was younger, but bias aside, I honestly think this game is worth a try for its unique style and addictive gameplay.

Thrillville8
May 4, 2017
I have seen many people confuse Thrillville and Rollercoaster Tycoon over the years, and the first thing that must be made apparent in this review is that they are most certainly not the same. While Rollercoaster Tycoon focuses specifically on a more complex building aspect of making a theme park, Thrillville offers a much more casual experience that pre-sets many things for you but still gives you more than enough freedom to experiment and play around with the tools the game provides. Think of it as a gateway game to Rollercoaster tycoon for children and those with little experience in the genre. Thrillville presents you with a simple task - maintain existing themed rollercoaster parks and draw in the crowds to make lots of money. To achieve this task, you must build stalls, rides and rollercoasters to wow the guests and build up more money to buy bigger and better stuff down the line. You can walk around your parks to talk with guests and make friendships with them, which increases overall happiness of guests. You can also hire entertainers (to raise happiness), mechanics (to keep rides from breaking) and cleaners (to clear up rubbish and sick from guests). Many of the games you place down in your parks are actual playable games that can become addictive if you're not careful. As for rollercoasters, there are various types but the game always limits how much you can do with them. Though as a child, I never found that to be too much of a problem because there was still enough space to get almost any vision you had for a coaster built. Thrillville also offers a plethora of missions for you to complete, with various categories spanning your guests to your games, you'll find beating these missions very rewarding and satisfying. Overall I find Thrillville to be a rather unique game with a lot more to offer than meets the eye (if you're willing to give it a chance that is). I had a lot of fun with this game as a kid and even today I still find it enjoyable to play. This game really isn't as bad as some make it out to be.

An honestly quite solid racing game with alot to offer and many hours of fun waiting to be had. SpongeBob's Truth or Square7
Apr 27, 2017
By far one of the most disappointing games in its relative franchise, Truth or Square is a very short and simplified game that's far too easy to beat 100%. I went into this game in 2010, having just replayed through battle for bikini bottom to get myself in the mood. At first I was amazed by the visuals, controls and play style but I soon realised that this much polish didn't come without a price. The game is for too short and simple, with even the most basic gamers being able to beat this game within 6 to 7 hours. Of course, this wouldn't be so bad if the game actually had some challenge to it, but it honestly has very little. For what it's worth, Truth or Square does mange to capture the Spongebob charm just as well as older Spongebob games did. The music is great, the story is cheesy and the gameplay is somewhat fun. Once you complete a level challenges are unlocked that (while mostly easy) were still fun to go and complete. Also hunting a sleeping Patrick in and some various other collectibles in every level was pretty fun to as finding hidden collectibles goes. Like the movie game with its upgrade points system, this game also has a collectible system. You collect coins in levels via picking them up or killing enemies and these coins can be used in the hub (Spongebobs house) to upgrade various furniture, buy costumes that the characters will be wearing when you see them or upgrade your health. The game can be fun for traditional Spongebob fans who enjoyed the older games but this game unfortunately suffers from it's much more simple style and shorter overall game time. All in all not a terrible addition to the Spongebob series of games, but a definite downgrade from it's previous titles.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie9
Apr 27, 2017
In the same vein as Battle for Bikini Bottom, The Spongebob movie game is a wonderful addition to the Spongebob series of games and does what many movie licensed games fail to do...actually be good. This game follows the plot of the 2004 Spongebob movie, basically adapting various areas in the movie into levels that take you through the plot via 3D platforming and puzzle solving. Each area is well designed with appropriate music and the controls are very functional, with special areas being scattered around in various levels for extra challenges. There is a neat upgrade feature for the moves you receive in this game that makes going out of your way to collect points in levels have a real purpose. You'll want to go out of your way to collect upgrade points just so you can upgrade your moves to make things easier. There are also secret chests hidden in levels as well that give you bonus concept art, character costumes and music and the extras section of the menu. The difficulty balance in this game is a little bit tipped to one side, with it being very clear that you require at least some knowledge in 3D platforming and some prior practice in order to do many challenges and even beat some later levels. It actually took me 7 years of on/off play and multiple playthroughs to finally figure out how to beat the final boss. All in all this game is great and fill me with nostalgia whenever I play it. If you are a Spongebob fan or just a fan of 3D platformers, you may very well enjoy this game yourself.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom9
Apr 27, 2017
Often considered to be the best game made from the Spongebob franchise, I'd be lying to myself if I did not agree. Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is a classic that takes you straight into the world of Spongebob you're familiar with and gives you a bunch of wonderfully themed worlds with great music, great puzzles and genuine charm. The controls are tight and the story is as cheesy as you'd expect any Spongebob episodes to be. As I look upon the many ancient reviews of this game from late 2003/early 2004 I am filled with joy remembering my first time playing this game as a kid. This game was one of many that fuelled the fires of passion I had for gaming and even now over 13 years later I occasionally do playthroughs of it just to see if I still feel the same about it. I do. I very much do.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman8
Apr 27, 2017
Perhaps it's my nostalgia speaking, but as a kid I thought this game was amazing. From the wonderfully charming music to the cheesy loveable characters I could not really see any problems with it for the age range expected to play it. It's easy to pick up and get into, has an easy to understand story and its level of difficulty is hard-but-not-to-hard which is perfect for kids getting in to 3D platforming games. The puzzles are well balanced, with some being simple and others taking some extra effort and time to master to complete, and each world is themed appropriately to areas of the show that kids will easily recognise. The controls are a little bit clunky, but for a PS2 game from 2002, it's not too bad. It's still very much playable and highly addictive, even today. Anyone giving this game a bad review clearly hasn't allowed themselves to think like a kid while playing this, this game is perfectly designed to appeal to the young Spongebob audience, the fact I still like it 15 years later is simply because of nostalgia, but I'm sure there are Spongebob fans (and even 3D platformer fans) who could still get a kick out of this game. As Spongebob games go, I certainly think this one's an underrated classic. Not the best game made from the franchise, but certainly not a bad one either.

Journey Collector's Edition9
Apr 25, 2017
I'm honestly kind of disappointed in user Allthat for his opinions on flow and flower. C'mon, why you gotta drag those 2 games into the dirt? Journey: Collectors edition is essentially a 'Thatgamecompany LLC' compilation disc. It has all 3 games released by them, but on 1 disc. If you are someone that enjoys the feeling of taking a disc out of its case and putting it in a console to play a game, or are just interested in collecting physical versions of digital games, then this is a must have. I see nothing wrong with wanting the security of owning a game on disc.

Just Cause 38
Apr 25, 2017
I would like to pretence this review by stating that I have not yet finished the game (though I have it over 50% completed at the point of writing this) and I also have the gold edition which means i have been able to play the DLC as well as the vanilla game. Now, on with the review. Just cause 3 is a wonderful edition to the series as it fixes various problems that made just cause 2 almost unbearable. One of my biggest gripes with just cause 2 was always how repetitive the process of [Enter village] > [Kill enemies and destroy chaos objects] > [Find collectibles] was. All villages were practically the same and there were far too many. The balance between doing missions and discovering new locations was completely tipped to one side constantly and it made playing the game a chore after a while. Let it be said that i did beat the main story of Just Cause 2 and i beat most of the other missions in the game as well, but i still hadn't completed the game 50% at that point and there was literally nothing else to do but find collectibles and discover villages. Now where just cause 2 fails in that regard, Just Cause 3 shines like a newly born sun. This game perfectly balances the discovery/collectible hunting with the in game missions and the challenges are such a welcome addition I'm actually willing to forgive this games framerate issues. In just Cause 2, you get weapons and vehicles by purchasing them with money made through destruction and completing missions. In Just Cause 3 there is no money, instead you get access to something called a 'rebel drop' and a limited number of flares (which are used to summon the rebel drops) which you can restock from military bases once you've conquered them. These rebel drops will allow you to summon any of the vehicles or weapons in the game as long as you've completed the necessary requirement for unlocking them (such as conquering certain military bases or doing certain missions or in some cases, finding all collectibles in a region). This is (in my opinion) a far better method of obtaining gear and vehicles than the currency system in the 2nd game. To make up for a lack of discoverable locations this game introduces challenges into the mix from which you receive 1 to 5 'gears' for 'gear mods' (explained below) based on your score/time in the particular challenge. Challenges range from air, sea and vehicle racing to destruction and shooting gallery. All are unique and offer actual challenge. The result of your hard work in these challenges earns you gears, which will unlock 'gear mods' once a specific amount of gears are gotten in there relative challenge. Gear mods are another fantastic edition to this series, as they give you a real sense of achievement and progression as you complete each challenge and unlock more upgrades for your characters abilities. Almost every single tool at your disposal has gear mods, be it vehicles or your own tether and bombs. This is by far one of my favourite editions to the franchise. The story and characters in this game are absolutely wonderful and memorable and the dialogue is just as cheesy as it has always been in these games. Di Ravello is a great villain and his tapes (which are collectibles scattered all over the map) are some of the creepiest things I've listened to. Rico is a great protagonist as he always is, and Sheldon is just as crazy as always. There are plenty of other great characters in this game that i wont spend the next 1000 words talking about. The amount of features this game adds as well as the many it has fixed from its predecessors is beyond incredible and speaks to the level of dedication that Avalanche went to for it's community to make this the best game it could be for them. I have had a lot of fun with this game so far and From what I have seen and played, I would honestly be doing the creators a disservice if I gave this game less than a 7. A feel an 8 perfectly represents my personal opinion of this game as I see it, so there it is.

Peggle 28
Apr 25, 2017
It's honestly hard to describe a game like Peggle 2. Is it fun? Yes, occasionally. Is it colourful? I would go as far as to say a rainbow would be jealous. And what about the gameplay? Is it anything like the original? Well yes, of course! But it's unfortunately nothing more. It's a nice little update to a well beloved game, but it really is nothing more than a slightly updated version of that classic. It's a great game to play if you enjoyed the original and its level objectives are fun to go for (such as clearing all pegs or getting a specific score), the music and Peggle masters are just as cheesy as the original and provide a familiar Peggle atmosphere. All around not an incredible game, but an ok addition to the series none the less. I wish Popcap luck if they decided to really go all out and make a much more updated Peggle game. For now though, this one does just fine.

No matter how hard I try, I cannot think of one bad thing to say about this game. I had far too much fun getting buried in its atmosphere and solving its many puzzles and dungeons. I never did play the original gamecube version of this game, so I cannot compare the two, but this game is beautiful and fun and it was a real joy to have experienced playing it blind. I cannot begin to describe my joy as I look back upon my time with this game, it truly was a once in a lifetime experience.

Pac-Man 2568
Apr 19, 2017
Highly fun and addictive, Pacman 256 is an endless runner pack man game named after the infamous level 256 glitch in the original pacman where half the board is eaten by code. You are essentially put on a randomly generated Pacman board that goes on forever (or until you die, which you will). The game starts you with only a few basic power-ups to help you get high scores and complete missions the game gives you such as 'eat 10 power-ups' or 'Eat 5 fruit'. There is a coin currency in the game that you earn by picking up coins on runs or by completing mission, these coins can be spent on upgrading the various in-game power-ups to give you more points from killing ghosts or just make the power-ups last longer. There are a wide variety of power-ups as well, ranging from bombs to nukes. All of this their to help you reach and beat your high score over and over. One very cool feature of this game is that if you can manage to eat 256 pellets in a row, it will kill every single ghost on screen and off screen for a short period and give you a huge boost on your score. Cheap, fun and addictive, this game is definitely good for a quick play session whenever you're feeling bored.

Super Mario Galaxy 210
Apr 17, 2017
This game fixed all the minor problems from the original to create a fresh experience that absolutely blew the first out of the water. With tons of fresh new galaxies and worlds to go to this game will keep anyone who was hooked on the original to turn it off and play this instead. This is by far and large the definitive greatest 3D Mario game ever, and Nintendo will be hard pressed to ever make a better one.

One of the best 3D Mario games ever. Period. It is only matched (and even beaten) in quality by its sequel. This game will whisk you off to many beautiful galaxies to hunt down power stars and rescue princess peach from Bowser at the centre of the universe. If that previous sentence didn't have you curious, this game isn't for you.

Dust: An Elysian Tail10
Apr 17, 2017
This game really is an unappreciated masterpiece in game design. Designed by a single man (Dean Dodrill), this game has stunning visuals, amazing RPG gameplay, great characters and an unbelievably good soundtrack to boot. The areas in the game are all unique and everything blends together perfectly to give you one of the most fun combat designs in gaming. I love the protagonist of this game and his cute little sidekick, they are a great duo that I won't soon forget. Pick up a controller and get into it and I guarantee you'll find it very hard to stop.

From Dust is a god game that put you in control of nature and asks you to help and protect tribal villagers with getting to and building villages around totems. You can move earth, water, lava and even some plants to achieve this goal. It's a stunning sandbox that can have you drawn in for hours. Serene, beautiful and fun, that's what this game is.

I cannot begin to describe this game in a way anyone who hasn't played it would understand, so I'll simply say this; Portal 2 is the greatest puzzle game you will ever play. No other game will have you thinking as hard while laughing your ass off at the silly side character and insane plot. Truly one of my favourite gaming experiences and I'll not soon forget about it.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim10
Apr 16, 2017
Calling this game the greatest RPG of all time is sort of over-exaggerating. The reason for my rating is simply because I found this game fun. It need be no more than that. I would have no reason to leave such a high rating if I didn't find the experience of playing Skyrim extremely enjoyable. This game delivers an incredible experience that will keep you playing for years (like it has with so many others). It's up to your own tastes, but if you like RPG's then you'll like this.

This game has got just the right amount of creepiness to make it scary but just the right amount of features to make it truly fun to blast through enemies, The story in this game is incredible and has you wondering right till the very end. Rapture is a one of a kind environment for a game to take place and is up there with the rest of the great videogame worlds.

Grand Theft Auto IV9
Apr 16, 2017
The story for this game is by far the greatest in the GTA series, I can't think of any gamer who doesn't know the name 'Niko Bellic'. This game improved on everything previous games had done and used a whole new engine to design the world, going for as much realism as could be achieved. It's really easy to build a connection with Niko's situation and understand his feeling over the course of the game, probably making him the most memorable character in the GTA series.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time10
Apr 7, 2017
An engaging world with a story so classic it has firmly cemented itself as a masterpiece within the gaming world. This game has stood the test of time and continues to be one of the greatest games in the Zelda franchise despite the many games released since. You will get no better an experience when it comes to 3D Zelda games than playing this beautiful classic. Pick it up today if you haven't already and give it a try, from the music to the characters to the puzzles to the world itself this game provides in all areas a perfect atmosphere for adventure. This game can get no less than a 9/10, but personal bias means I HAVE to give it a 10. Truly a masterpiece in it's genre.

I want nothing more than to experience this game for the first time again. I can still recall how I felt running through the varied worlds hunting for every single collectible and swearing blind that I would reach Grunty one day as she taunted me at every turn. Truly this is a once in a lifetime 3D platforming experience and even though I cannot play it again for the first time, I will continue my personal ritual of playing it every year until my console dies or I die, whichever comes first.

Never doubt the addictiveness of Fallout 3. I did not play this game until last year (2016) for various reasons I won't put in this review. But suffice to say, from the moment I got out of vault 101 I was absolutely hooked, and for the next 129 hours I traversed, explored and experienced a world so bleak, with a story that's even bleaker, that it kept me thoroughly engaged in and effort to help anyone I could by any means necessary. If you pick this game up and get at least a couple hours into it, I doubt you will will put it down. This IS the greatest open world RPG ever made.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars8
Apr 6, 2017
I have got zero problems with this game, The puzzle solving is perfectly balanced and gets harder and harder as you work through the game. There's also plenty of extra content to enjoy as you unlock bonus levels and play levels made by other players to earn stars and buy assets to build your own levels. This game has a wonderful charm and fits right in to the Mario vs Donkey Kong series of games.

Snake Pass8
Apr 6, 2017
An incredibly unique 3D platforming experience, Snake Pass will have even the most selective fan of the genre at the very least intrigued at its charm. A good suggestion from many is to not go into this game expecting a traditional experience, but rather a new and exciting one that has been sorely needed in a very stale genre. The learning curve for the controls in this game are very steep, it's not for everyone, so don't feel bad if you can't get over it, it really is hard to control a snake! The music is purposely very reminiscent of 90's platformers and accompanies the style very well. It feels very relaxing to just sit in a world and listen to the tracks. All in all a nice experience that I hope I can revisit in future and I would definitely recommend fans of the 3D plaformer genre visit at least once.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild9
Apr 6, 2017
As a long time Zelda fan it was always a worry that Nintendo may one day change the traditional Zelda formula we've all come to love. But for what it's worth, Nintendo has done an absolutely fantastic job at bringing Zelda into an entirely new genre. No open world/sandbox game even comes close to this one in terms of its exploration. The world around you feels both alive and yet dead at the same time, giving a real sense of depth to the events the games tells you about through it's story that lead to Hyrule being in it's current state. The characters are all wonderful and filled with personality and the weapon durability system is fine, despite what many have said. There's plenty to discover and do in this game and along the way you're accompanied by a very ambient soundtrack that isn't too intrusive or out of place, but definitely isn't like the music you remember from older Zelda games. There are very few big dungeons but there are 120 small shrines, which are each a puzzle of their own. Every area of breath of the wild feels different from the scorching hot Gerudo desert to the extremely cold and snowy tundra. Each area has its own positives and negatives, with certain enemies native to certain regions and the cold and hot both being able to damage link at there most extreme. It took me 150+ hours to do everything this game had to offer, which I would say was more than enough for this kind of game. Not a single second of that time I consider wasted. I feel like this game provides everything necessary for a full fledged Zelda experience in an open world. An absolutely incredible experience worth every penny paid and every second played.
