The Fantastic Four: First Steps

I had fun watching this movie. The emotionally tense scenes were solid, CGI was great (except with in parts with the baby), the action was dope, & the stakes felt real/heavy enough. Vanessa Kirby was awesome as Sue, and Joseph Quinn's Johnny is the best live-action Human Torch period; Johnny turned out to be more "grit/brains" than "mouth" in this movie, and I totally loved it! All in all, you should enjoy this movie. Not a whiff of wokery (imo), everything about this world is organic, and ticks all the boxes to satisfy as a true escapism outlet. Of course, the writing had it's quirks here and there (e.g., Reed completely forgetting about the moon in his BIG solution to Galactus is unbrainy). This is the best live-action Fantastic Four movie imo! If you liked any of the previous movies, then you'll like this more. An entertaining watch, & can't wait to see where the post credits setup takes the MCU next.

There were too many unnecessary cameos, the good ones were underutilized, & a thousand inconsistencies crucified the plot. Some great action scenes though. Ryan Reynolds was unfunny in this one, not surprising - his comic side is just boring now. Hugh Jackman's The Wolverine - he still has IT! The CGI comes off as cringy in many scenes.

Gal Gadot and Pedro Pascal are the only good things about this film. Every other thing in it, from the entire story to the chief villain, Cheetah, was a hot mess.

Saying this hurts, but Black Adam isn't the "great movie" it's being touted to be. The necessary parts are there for it to have turned out truly great, but the screws are out of place. The biggest downer is Dwayne's interpretation of the titular Black Adam. Tho, really good and enjoyable to watch, his take is, in truth, a far cry from every iteration of the character that's ever existed in any medium prior. Basically, it's not really Black Adam, it's The Rock's Black Adam. The villain is so distant, I don't even hate him - the movie doesn't make you care enough to. Dr Fate was good. Adrianna and her son (especially her son) were also standouts for me. But the movie's just such a letdown overall from what I expected. A 6/10, IMO.

Unfunny. Too unserious. Wayyy off the mark. Nice visuals though. Too much of anything is never good, and that's written all over THOR 4. The right parts (in plot and the cast) were present to have made what could arguably be one of the best MCU movies out there (and outright the best MCU PHASE 4 movie so far) but somewhere along the line, it got botched. Thor is over a thousand years old, he's lost his father, mother, brother, home (and favorite hammer), and he's gained some friends over the years that might've made his pain bearable, but there's no way he could have ended up being this... This WAY! There're just too many stupid plot lines in this film. Thor from Endgame/Infinite War is still the best Thor iteration yet; that brooding, weight of the world on his shoulders hunk **** aura he had, not this wise-cracking, unfunny jock ****

In summary, this is one wizarding movie that should've been (made and) left as a novel instead. What a borefest it must be to those who saw it in the theaters! The cast probably did their best, but the plot really couldn't be helped.

Drab, tacky and so low-budget looking. Terrible casting; Batman talks, walks, looks like a wimp; Catwoman is too short; Alfred has the face of a sneaky villian; and Jim Gordon is black! 30 mins in, I had to end this bland nonsense and I'm not going back. This movie gets a "1" from me simply for the effort put into making it.

I kinda feel this movie would've been perfect if the The Rock and Emily Blunt were switched out for much younger unpopular actors - honest. This feels like a great break out movie for any upcoming (promising) actor. I love Dwayne and Emily, they actually made this fun, but the love/bonding angle between the two would've worked better if played by much younger actors. I mean, Emily was just in A Quiet Place 2 earlier this year playing a mother with three kids and seeing her now taking on a Jane Porter-esque persona doesn't quite gel - at least not as well as it could've. In summary, Jungle Cruise feels like a marsh-up of elements from Tarzan, Pirates of The Caribbean, with a touch of The Mummy. There's treaure hunting, undead conquistadors, ancient South-American magic/technology, the amazingly lush Amazon jungle and Proxima! There's also Dwayne's occasional succinctly interjected hilarious word-play too. It's fun and interesting - an entertaining watch all round. Thank you, Disney. Now please, move on to a completely new project and don't ruin this piece of adventure with a money-motivated sequel.

On a strictly entertainment-only scale, this movie would be a 10/10 - it's that good! But then, the plot feels somewhat too fast paced and there's way too much gore than is necessary; "fast paced" is Deadpool 1, where the movie still gives you enough time to actually care about the characters, "too fast paced" on the other hang? Nehh... Idris Elba's Bloodspot was kickass dope, same goes for John Cena's Peacemaker, but only Polka-dot Man, Rat-Catcher and Harls I'd say grew on me. At the heart of it all tho, this movie's loads of fun! Do give it a watch, just beware the gore.

Visuals - aced! Story telling and pacing - aced! The monsters - fresh and indeed Monstrous! The only let down? Why wasn't this film incorporated into the Cloverfield universe? It would've been perfect! I'm not Kristen Stewart's biggest fan, but there're charac she's jes perfect for and she really comes out here! This is what a sci-fi/horror film should look, feel and be like!

This movie doesn't get a perfect 10 'cause of two major flops: Batman's sleuthing skill is way below par, and Superman's more dumb than he should be. Okay, so why does it merit a 9? OMG! This is the awesomest DC movie ever! Batman's combat style is a direct rip-off from Arkham Origins; the ONLY thing missing is the "cape stun". Lex is actually much more interesting with Jesse's take on the character. And Gal Gadot is a GODDESS! Maybe BvS was a wee bit too ambitious, but it sure as hell works for me. Can't wait to see what's coming next. By the way, I hope you know I'm talking about the "Ultimate Edition" here and not the **** theatrical release.

If there's one description for this movie, it's FUN! If you're down for some entertaining new take on the world of witch-craft hunting, "The Last Witch Hunter" might just be what you need. The only downside for this otherwise "funtastic" ride of a movie, is Vin Diesel's casting! Yup, really. I think it would've turned out much more awesome if he'd played the fat witch(wizard? Funny, I can't remember that word being mentioned throughout the whole movie) dude, Belial. 'Cause honestly, there's no way the chemistry between Diesel and Rose Leslie could've have worked! Word of advice: The "critics", the "professional" ones, yeah those guys, many times they **** at their job.

Matter of fact, I don't think the "critics" watched the same movie I did. Self/Less is an amazing movie not only 'cause of its intriguing premise, but also 'cause of the realism it exudes. If this sci-fi dramatization doesn't pull you in, I wonder what will. I recommend this movie to anyone who's familiar with how to have a good time with a movie - you'll love it.

For me this movie does more things wrong than it does right. And the ending's just a total no-no for me! This was supposed to be a really beautiful movie, but the director (or whoever was in charge of the story) just had go on and ruin its ending! I haven't read the novel so I can't tell if they were trying to be true to the source material, but I think they should done more with the story. Though, I wouldn't advice you to miss this movie; just watch out for the this-can't-be-the-end! ending.

There are so many dumb horror movies out this year, but, believe you me, The Babadook is not one of them. For a 7 yr old, Noah Wiseman is a fantastic actor! An interesting story, an "A" rated performance from the cast, and witful directing from Jennifer Kent round up this movie's strongest points. The ending though was rather dull and not quite what I expected, but I think it would have really soured my day if it concluded on a more tragic note (like most horror movies do). In all, The Babadook is an enjoyable movie!

Brilliantly done, Nacho Vigalondo! I'm definitely adding this master-piece to my list of best movies seen this year. From start to finish, I couldn't take my eyes off my laptop screen as I watched the intriguing, captivating plot of Open Windows unfurl. If you're down for a "mild" introduction to the powers of modern day digital hacking, intertwined with a brilliant story and amazing directing, Open Windows is what you're certainly looking for!

Definitely better than the first Amazing Spider-Man movie. I think the emotional depth Marc Webb employed in this one is its main saving grace, that is, asides from the cool special effects and action scenes. But in all, this whole new Spider-Man reboot is nowhere close to the nigh-perfect original Sam Raimi trilogy. I mean, Spiddy gets to battle two super villains (almost effortlessly) and doesn't even scratch his suit? You know, that's the core difference between the two movies: Sam Raimi's Spider-Man had this authenticity about it and it was more believable, while Marc Webb's just plain shallow but still enjoyable (The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that is, 1 is a total no no for me).
