A wonderful journey to experience as a fan of the franchise. Troy Baker's performance pays great respect to Harrison Ford's titular hero. I still remain a bit on the fence about the first-person perspective, however, it works for the most part and certainly doesn't detract from what is a terrific game.

Not sure how players new to the Horizon series will feel, but fans of the series will be amused enough with this unusual LEGO game. There is not much to unpack, everything is very simple here. The game is best played in co-op like the majority of LEGO games. I can't really recommend it to non-Horizon fans though as it feels a little 'by-the-numbers'. Having said that, I enjoyed it as a lover of the franchise.

Having never played Cyberpunk 2077 during its famously shaky launch, I'm very glad to have started it years later now the performance is ironed out. I found it a rich, atmospheric, compelling open-world noir thriller. It doesn't have the moreish nature of some other open-world games due to its cold and generally unpleasant world, however, the characters are fantastic which makes the game worth sticking with. I just know that Night City is certainly not a place I'd want to visit in real life.

Sable is a tricky game to review because it truly has all the elements to be something very special. I love so many of its ideas, its atmosphere, its exploration, etc. However, it is let down by such terrible performance issues and I really can't ignore these. They're so bad that the game consistently broke and needed to be reloaded. Some gameplay elements, such as the fishing, don't even seem to work most of the time. Helldivers 2 is the most fun I’ve had in an online multiplayer game for years. I was a big fan of the first game, but there's even more to love here. The third-person perspective change was a gamble, but it works so well and amplifies the action moments that dominate every mission. The gameplay is tremendous and the developers nailed it. Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is a very safe sequel that fails to capture the intrigue of the original. While the artwork, writing and performances are high quality, the gameplay itself is a letdown. I was hoping they'd be more additions this time around, yet there are no changes here. Final Fantasy XVI is purely spectacular in almost every way. The cinematic combat and boss fights are strengthened by a compelling story and a cast of memorable characters that are a joy to spend time with. A large number of side quests leave a lot to be desired, but they don't outweigh the positives. If it was a little leaner, this could have been a masterpiece. It comes close though and is a fine addition to the long-running series.

Sky is a very disappointing follow-up to the amazing Journey. It's a live service-lite type of game that falls flat and struggles to capture the power of togetherness that the developers are clearly trying to achieve. This game thoroughly impressed me more than I expected - particularly in its first half, before the open world fatigue started to take its toll. Despite the overabundant open-world elements such as the Merlin Trials and the treasure vaults, the rest of the world is breathtaking. It's so nice to see an open-world game with a UK countryside setting. The story and characters are passable - nothing great but it gets the job done. This is not what you play the game for though. The combat however is something that stands out to me as very strong. It's great fun to use combos as you unlock more spells. In spite of its flaws, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter game that fans have been dreaming of for years.
