Final Fantasy XVI5
Jun 25, 2023
Giving it a 10 is ridiculous the character models are so bad for PS5 it’s laughable as is the performance. I like the new mature theme of the story but the combat **** and the animations/effects are way too exaggerated and flashy all over the screen. Another mediocre Final Fantasy after the last good one being X

Worst PC port **** I've ever played - an absolute abomindation to any true pc player. If you require a controller to be able to play a PC game you should never release the game on PC.

They couldn't even bother to add sliders to a ONE RACE character creator. Then, when you get in the pretty world, you realize they couldn't even be bothered to add a swimming animation. What a pathetic joke and the fact that gamers make excuses for this crap goes to show how absolutely desperate some people are for a new MMO to escape their miserable lives with.

Well it's not as bad as I heard it was but it's very clunky, the UI for pc is atrocious as is the building camp US, quite literally the worst I've ever seen for a survival game and I've played a lot. Inventory management is a mess, too much junk to pick up that is worthless, loot isn't great. Even worse, they are soon adding an update that makes all enemies scale to your level, like they did in Oblivion, so bye bye any sense of progression or danger in the world. Why is it not allowing me to hitt submit

No, you don't get to release a game and call it "Final Fantasy VII remake" and only have 1/3 of the game inside. There was ZERO mention of this fact on the box of the game or in advertising for it. False advertising and shady practices from Square!

NieR: Automata9
Nov 1, 2019
**Spoiler free** I'm going to do my best to be objective with this review here, I think it would be easy for me to just give the game a 10 based on the effect it had on my by the end, but I'm going to give it a 9 due to the pc version having a lot of issues for me and some of the other aspects of the game lacking a bit. I feel the GAMEPLAY is worthy of an 8 score for the game, but since the story and connection to characters is so powerful by the end I have to bump it up to a 9 So the most important thing here - I played original Nier completely all endings and it's one of my all time faves. I'm 2.5 years late to the party with this game and one thing I heard from original PS3 Nier fans (some of them anyway) is that Nier Automata pales in comparison to PS3 Nier in almost every way. I couldn't disagree more, I feel this game improves on literally everything. As much as I became attached to Yonah, Nier and Kaine, I would say I'm even more connected to this game's characters. Having said that though, the connection for me came much later than it did with Nier as it took longer in this game for me to feel the attachment to the characters. There were actually times early in the game that seemed to have some emotional intensity that I felt detached from and I wondered if it was just not clicking with me. But, later it did come and even changed how I viewed those scenes that didn't hit for me at first. I think it could be argued the STORY and LORE of this game aren't super strong or complex. In actuality, it's a bit simple and basic, but what shines is the emotional depth to which the game manages to get to as you get further in the game and via the characters as you learn more about them and what's really going on. I spent a good chunk of the game a little cold towards the main characters but by the end and after it was over just being overcome with emotion multiple times. This game DEEPLY affected me and I think will sit with me forever along with other games that have done so like original Nier, Xenogears and Xenosaga. This COULD be at the top of the list, but that may just be because it's most fresh in my mind. Gameplay wise it's good but has issues, just like Nier. The combat is good and much improved, the biggest step up from Nier in my mind. Graphics are pretty bad and outdated, most of the game looking like PS3 tier in my mind. The environments are iffy and a bit boring and the fishing is an afterthought, even more so than regular Nier. There is a TON of backtracking which gets annoying too, same as original Nier. But, there are some fun sidequests which have humor and a bit of lore building as well as a god-tier soundtrack and voice acting, also like Nier. This was a low budget game and you can feel it at times, but it more than makes up for it in the story department and main characters. If you did play original Nier there are a few nice fan service moments that are nicely done and hit emotionally. Ultimately I spent 80% of this game having fun but at the same time wondering if I was every going to feel a strong connection to the characters, then the last 20% and post-game thinking this is the most attached to game characters I've ever experienced and so much emotion wrapped up into this game and cast that it's hard to describe. I've been thinking about it for days after fully completing the game and I doubt I will ever stop. I've had to fight with myself multiple times in this review to not say things that would even give hints to spoilers, but trust me when I say I'm a bit dead inside as a human, a bit old, have played a lot of games, seen a lot of movies and watched a lot of tv. And in my time practically nothing has moved me like this game has.

This is one of those games that has zero progression systems - the type of game the vocal minority say is the best thing ever and how it's better than games with progression and if you don't like it you just aren't creative enough or some garbage excuse. I'm a regular gamer, and let me tell you it's BORING beyond belief. Anything you accomplish will at best get you a new skin on your rifle, another decal on your ship, nothing anyone cares about, in essence rendering anything you do in game meaningless. This game is absolute TRASH.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus4
Jun 23, 2018
Most disappointing game for me in a long time. I read some of the mixed reviews but still figured I would love the game considering how much I liked New Order and the political issues don't bother me at all. However, it's all the gameplay changes that in my opinion are for the worse that has resulted in me not having much fun with the game. The combat and shooting feels off, the new perk system isn't nearly as fun it feels more grindy, not being able to replay levels **** since I loved doing that to find missed items in the first one, can't even press M to open the map have to maneuver through the cumbersom awful menu screen (another negative it's so cumbersome this time), mission objectives don't list the story unless you press enter on each one every single time, sound effects are awful grenades sound like fire crackers and hitting something with a metal axe sounds like dinging something with a butter knife and there are tons of graphical glitches I've found so far. Above all this - IT JUST ISN'T FUN! All of the things I've listed so far are annoyances or little things, but above all of that I'm just not having fun playing it. I also detest the mein leben achievement considering how buggy the game is and having to do it all in one sitting - it's just stupid. Overall I'm shocked at how much worse this game is than New Order, but that's just me.

Well, I figured despite the negative feedback that I would almost certainly love the game. I haven't even finished one of the sections yet and I've been having to force myself to play this past week and tonight I just finally gave up and uninstalled. I'm simply not having fun. Anytime a game gets to that place where I'm forcing myself to play I know it just isn't for me. It's just so incredibly blah to me, and the cult thing sounded cool but the way they implemented it is just so dumb and uninteresting. It's not creepy it's just hillbilly and dumb, and SO unbelievable. Like oh yeah this cult is so powerful even the government can't do anything about them!! YAWN. The character advancement is super simple and boring, the hunting is boring and uninspired, the story is beyond boring, etc etc.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind5
Jun 5, 2017
I find this expansion pretty disappointing to be honest. In comparison to other mmo full expansions it's extremely lacking in content, it feels about on pace to the Wrothgar DLC maybe a small bit larger in overall size but content wise not much more. The world does feel like original Morrowind and the nostalgia is real - however I was disappointed in the somewhat lifeless and closed off Balmora and Vivec the same way. Many buildings in Balmora are closed up and only 1 of the cantons in Vivec is fully explorable like TES III. I'm happy to say some old tunes are in the OST for the expansion, redone, but that's nice to hear. Overall it's a nice romp with nostalgia but pretty lackluster to me if I'm being objective about it.

It's serviceable I guess. The idea of people giving it a 10 is laughable. Gacha mobile game with a very dumb downed version of normal Fire Emblem games. Takes a few hours to get through the story, tons of grinding, non-existent story, and there you go.

Was really hoping this would be the rejuvination of the series - it isn't. I'm sad to say I would classify this one right behind 13 (not as bad as that one but it's not that far behind either). Atrocious story and dialogue, side quests the quality of what we saw introduced in mmo's 15 years ago, ugh. The graphics are beautiful and the score is amazing, but overall it's average average average.

Disappointing to say the least. I'm not a fan of the art style, but I was willing to put that aside and just deal with it, so I'm not factoring the art into my score. Overall the game is just super slow, has an awful story, terrible dialogue and just isn't very fun to me. I'm also not a fan of the Pokémon style of this game. Big disappointment.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition6

This game was HARD to finish. Not because it was hard mind you, but because I really had to push myself to keep playing on multiple occasions. Having read all the prequel books I hoped for a lot more from the story. Minus a few references and recurring characters, the story from the past is almost entirely not expanded upon. Geralt "lost his memory" which was an infuriating way for them to just skip all the lore from the past entirely pretty much. The gameplay is boring a lot of the times, but I like the dialogue. Overall pretty mediocre game.

Not bad and not great. Super repetitive, desperately needs more content and things to do besides just dungeons over and over. Look at Gran Blue as an example of what a social rpg can be in terms of extra things to do. VERY heavy on the gacha and outrageous prices. The boss battles, nostalgia, music and ability animations are all really cool though.

I challenge people to play the game a week before scoring it or reviewing it, because my experience was a lot of fun for the first few days, then perhaps the fastest drop into mindless grind and boredom I've had in a mobile game in quite some time. There are literally two things to do in this game: quest (which you quickly realize are all the same and super monotonous), and GRIND GRIND GRIND GRIND quests yet again, ultimately in order to level up and evolve your medals. Most people I know finished the available quests within a week, and then it's medal upgrade time and nothing else. One of the most bare bones games I've played in a while, in a pretty package.
