Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem6
Aug 7, 2023
Visually stunning and good voice acting and incredible action was the high point of the movie, and it had an average overall story, however, the humor of this movie tried way too hard to be funny, there were constant repeats of the same joke and lots of potty humor. I understand that this is a kid movie, but I'm younger than 20 and this was really hard to watch in parts and the jokes and modern phrases like "rizz" and "sus" constantly took me out of the moment. This was also a lousy iteration of April O'Neil by design and story. Overall, 7/10 movie, I enjoyed it, but I probably won't be seeing it again nor will I be watching the potential sequel.

Oppenheimer10
Jul 25, 2023
Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer may be the most expertly crafted and intelligent movie I've seen in the past decade. The scope of the film was ambitious, but if there's anyone that can do it, it's Christopher Nolan. The visuals are almost all practical and it pays off, this movie is stunning to look at from the first frame to its last. The cinematography also plays a part in this. The cast, acting, and dialogue are all perfectly selected, acted, and written. Specifically, the acting from Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Florence Pugh are all phenomenal. The pacing is fantastic though once you get to the court scenes towards the end of the movie it can drag a little, but it's nothing drastic The message of the movie being "just because you can do something doesn't always mean you should" is perfect for Robert Oppenheimer's story. The movie is great in IMAX just like Nolan promised, though I don't believe it is necessary to get the full experience of the movie like he said. The reality is, I don't see any obvious negatives to this film so this is a rare 10 out of 10 movie for me, and I hope everyone gets to go see it.

Cocaine Bear8

This movie was never meant to be master-class cinema, its purpose was to entertain. I think it did its job perfectly, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the movie and I would watch it again. It is the perfect movie to see with friends.

Don't Worry Darling7
Sep 28, 2022
Unlike other people, I really enjoyed this movie. It kept me engaged the whole run time and had an outstanding soundtrack. Florence Pugh and Chris Pine are absolutely phenomenal in their roles, with enough plot twists and turns to surprise you. The only things that knock this movie down a few pegs are Harry Styles was okay but didn't scream lead actor talent to me and the fact that one of the plot twists toward the end that explains their situation feels underdeveloped and could've used a little more explanation/screentime/depth.

Despicable Me 35
Jun 17, 2022
This is where the franchise begins to get stale. After 2 great movies and one pretty good side story, the franchise has its first "eh" movie. There is little character development, the villain is uninteresting, and most of the cast like the children have little impact on the story and have no interesting plot. It was far from bad, but overall just disappointing.

Morbius3
May 17, 2022
Just like both of the Venom movies, the critics undershot and the audience overshot how good this truly was... I think as far as movies go it was average. The visuals we pretty good, the story just kind of threw you in, but that was probably for the better. I did like the morality shown by the main character on whether he should drink normal or artificial blood. Some reveals were well done, and the horror-like scenes while brief were fun to watch. The acting was pretty good from everyone, the music was alright, it's nothing special overall, but there are some really good scenes sprinkled in there.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness9
May 9, 2022
This movie was a true spectacle, you could feel that Sam Raimi made this movie, Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch had excellent performances and I'd go as far to say that Wanda is the most fleshed out and complex character the MCU has right now. There is a certain horror element to this movie that works really well for the characters. Plenty of cameos and fun moments, my only complaint is it should have been 20 minutes longer because it needed more filler in between key plot points, and I never once got bored of what it was showing me. I feel that it gets better the more and more that I think about it, and I can easily see it topping some of my most beloved MCU movies.

Pig8
Jan 16, 2022
A strange concept for a movie, and in an era of nothing but reboots, sequels, and bad writing, it's certainly not one you'd expect from modern-day Hollywood. This movie is a reminder that out there, there are still some good writers and directors that just care about making a good movie. Pig is about a Truffle Hunter whose beloved Pig is kidnapped. He risks his life and stability to delve back into his past to find his Pig. It may not sound that exciting, but it's actually a surprisingly intelligent story and proof that Nicholas Cage can still act if given good material to work with.

The Matrix Resurrections4
Jan 16, 2022
After re-watching the first three Matrix movies, I can't say that this one was necessary. I mean, in the movie they even joke about the studio forcing them to make another movie, which unfortunately doesn't make the situation any better. The action is fine, there's a good amount of it, the music is really good for the fight scenes. White rabbit works well for the movie. There are some cool ideas like the machines working with the humans, but unfortunately, go unexplored for a weaker plot point. Morpheus and Agent Smith are both there, but not, but are played by different actors. They made a very weird and unconvincing reason for them being like that, and they go the whole movie not doing anything of significance. You could easily write them out of the movie and it'd have the same impact. Honestly, as most people expected this is inherently just another cash grab sequel that studios are pumping out all the time today, and frankly, while it had the potential to be decent it just didn't use the plot lines that could expand on the story at all. The same message and theme are explained again, but this time they even use clips from older movies to show it, to where it seems like they had no idea what to do with it and you could tell. Neo and Trinity never seemed like a powerful enough couple to be the whole drive for the matrix to even exist beyond the third movie, both narratively and literally. Carrie-Anne Moss seems bored in this movie, and I can understand why. It's also weird how they felt the need to make Trinity just as powerful as Neo. At least they didn't nerf Neo just to prop her up. But not everyone has to have the same strength to be equally as important to the story. Instead of cool fight scenes from Neo, you just get him force pushing people over and over. It's I don't know if they waited 10 years too long to make another movie. Overall Matrix Regurgitations just feels like a cash grab rehash like the Force Awakens, but now it makes fun of itself and uses old clips which just makes it feel lazier. It wasn't bad and at least it was better than the third movie, but it tells no new story and just doesn't justify its own existence.

Eternals5
Jan 16, 2022
Ah, the Eternals, Marvels' next entry in the never-ending mass-produced conga line of the Superhero genre. This movie was very different when comparing it to most Marvel movies, or even superhero movies for that matter. It had a vision, it had a good, solid, concept with a moral dilemma splashed among the characters and story, and it had outstanding visuals. But at the core it had some story issues, there were too many characters introduced for us to care about any of them as much as the movie wants us to, and it was just kind of a mess in terms of a consistent story, it jumped around a lot. Remember Birds of Prey how it was all over the place; because Harley Quinn was telling it and she has a screwed-up head? This movie jumped around MORE than that and there wasn't a reason for that like in Birds of Prey. Solid movie, not amazing due to the non-consistent story, but overall some great writing, core story, and just a pretty good time killer overall. Will the Eternals be as iconic as the Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy? Not in a million years. But still an enjoyable experience.

Spider-Man: No Way Home10
Jan 5, 2022
Easily one of the best marvel movies to date, it took the 2nd place slot from Avengers: Infinity War, just a hair behind Guardians of the Galaxy. To keep this review spoiler-free it will have to be brief. Although the beginning could've been handled better, seeing iconic characters come back after so long, some even almost from 2 decades ago like Doc Ock and Green Goblin was just too incredible, to where I could ignore any mediocre reason for it all happening. (That wasn't a spoiler as they were in the trailers) Plus, it makes sense for someone young like peter and someone overconfident like strange to have that outcome. I highly recommend rewatching all the spiderman movies old and new just to get a refresher as events from those two movies are mentioned throughout. Probably one of the most awesome cinema experiences since Avengers: Endgame. Don't Pirate or stream this one, this is one you won't regret paying to go see on the big screen.

Spider-Man: Far from Home8
Nov 26, 2021
As I did enjoy homecoming a little more I wish Mysterio had a better-written motivation, but overall, he was done really well in this movie. Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Holland were great together. My one complaint, however, is that I wish that the final battle (Act 3) had more of that illusion-type sequence that was shown in act 2.
Nov 26, 2021
Avengers: Endgame9
Nov 26, 2021
A spectacular Finale to an 11-year story. The 3rd act is pure perfection besides the impractical female coming together scene (it's cool, but what made Infinity Wars' version believable is because they could logically end up on the battlefield together.) The 2nd act was a bit too long but other than those two things the movie is a stroke of genius. The movie itself isn't the best marvel movie by a few notches, but overall, one of the best theater experiences ever.

Red Notice7
Nov 21, 2021
Red notice is a movie with a basic premise of a hunter and hunted that team up to take down a bigger threat than we've seen all the time. But this movie threw in many plot twists and turns that the more they do the harder to believe they were. Although I must say for the most part I really enjoyed this film. The actors are on their A-game, entertaining and charismatic. The music doesn't stand out there was no amazing crescendo that most themes should have, but it gets the job done. It sets up a sequel that I'd honestly be down to see. I hope it gets greenlighted as I had a lot of fun overall.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife9
Nov 21, 2021
I went into this movie with high hopes and walked out grateful that my high hopes were put to good use. This movie stays true to the Ghostbusters franchise, and I thank the director and studio for this. Every franchise has been added to and most of them tarnish the once-beloved stories. This movie has a few surprises, well-written, casted, acted, and the music was great. But what really made me like it was the use of Harold Ramis's character after his decease. They incorporated him into the story and used him in it to pass on the legacy in a satisfying way.

No Time to Die7
Nov 7, 2021
This one is hard to review without spoilers, but here we go. Overall I thought it was a good action movie, it didn't have the charm of James Bond, but none of the Daniel Craig ones do, he's not bad, that's not what I'm saying, it just feels more of an action movie. It could have used a lot more of Ana De Armas as she's a good actress and made for a good "Bond Girl" but was barely in it. The story kept you engaged and it had good action scenes. The acting was all superb. Some of the decision-making was weird, but I can't say for the sake of spoilers, still an enjoyable action movie.

Last Night in Soho10
Nov 1, 2021
Absolute F**** 10. this movie was astonishing. Visuals, soundtrack, cast, story, twists, writing, pacing. It makes you think which is a much-needed break in the horror genre from the ones that go BOO! I really suggest you watch this movie, as it's one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time. Pretty much The Shining level for me.

Dune: Part One8
Oct 23, 2021
A slow start but a great choice as it allows for you to care more about characters as it goes along. I'm glad it's only part one as the book has an abundance of story and the original movie had a lot of story gaps in it. Now in 2021 actually has the CGI capabilities **** Dune movie where the old one lacked, and the casting choices were honestly some of the best I've seen in a while. The music by Hans Zimmer was really profound without being in your face. Overall I really enjoyed the movie, but some people unfamiliar with the franchise might have a little trouble understanding parts of it (I'm not an expert on it, but understood it fine.)
Oct 17, 2021
Halloween Kills7
Oct 17, 2021
Not as good as Halloween OG and Halloween (2018) as it offers no break in between the murder spree, but still better than most. I'm not big on the whole horror genre, but this feels true to the other Halloween movies and is definitely worth a watch if you like the series.
Oct 17, 2021
Halloween8
Oct 17, 2021
A movie that feels like both the hunter and the prey have something to look out for. It plays the tropes of the original, sometimes almost mimicking them like Michael bumping into the trick or treaters, looking down upon the ground only to see them disappear, etc. And creating a cool new story that works with the franchise with a really good cast. With the great classic theme back in full force and used to its best potential.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage7
Oct 17, 2021
This movie went for a more humorous feel than the previous movie. Whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you. The beginning felt a little rushed in explaining Cletus and Frances. For the most part, the movie is good, about the same level as the predecessor, nothing spectacular, but not bad. Definitely stick around for the end credits on this one.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings8
Sep 5, 2021
Wow, this movie was honestly a lot better than I thought it'd be. The action was well done, had good humor, and had a good story with great CGI in it. I was engaged throughout it. The acting was good and believable, especially by the antagonist. I'm impressed and proved wrong, I didn't expect a movie of this level. Not impressed by the soundtrack, but that doesn't take away much from the experience.
Aug 14, 2021
The Suicide Squad10
Aug 14, 2021
The Suicide Squad is a genius spectacle. It doesn't take itself too seriously. It's entertaining with good actors and a non-complex story shrouding it. All the actors put in their best, the transition is fun, the music is good. and the movie is well-paced and able to hold your attention. Something for everyone. Just sit back and enjoy.

Jungle Cruise8
Aug 1, 2021
I just watched Jungle Cruise. It was entertaining and funny enough to hold your interest. The acting from Emily Blunt and The Rock was good. Average Disney movie felt inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. Was it as good as Pirates of the Caribbean, no, better than the last two, but still a decent and enjoyable movie. I'd give it an 8.0/10.
Jul 10, 2021
Black Widow7
Jul 10, 2021
It was pretty good Scarlett Johansson was amazing as always. I hope to see more Florence Pugh and David Harbor. The mother is hard to root for because she helped the Black Widow program for years and straight-up tortured animals. It was a lot of fun overall, although it was a little heavy in the female empowerment by making males crap. I saw Taskmaster and I thought "ah, yes a male that isn't a dumbass" and then... it wasn't.

Bad Teacher4
Jul 6, 2021
This movie honestly tried too hard to be Rated R. A lot of the stuff in this movie wasn't needed. Yes, some of it added to the fact that she was in fact a bad teacher, but in the end, a lot of it came out as cringe-worthy. Now there were some shining moments and some good character development, but in the end, they were overshadowed by the unnecessary. I do have to give credit to Cameron Diaz, she's great in this movie as always and tries to do the best with what she was offered. Honorable mention also to Jason Segel.
Jul 6, 2021
Charlie's Angels8
Jul 6, 2021
I thought that it was a good and fun movie, sure not anything that would win an oscar. But it had great talent and was pretty fun. The cast was able to make you laugh and were pretty well cast. I enjoyed it more than I thought that I would.

Kubo and the Two Strings8

A beautifully animated movie. It had a great story and voice acting. I really enjoyed the mythology of this movie and the aspects it uses.

Cruella9
Jun 23, 2021
I was confused by the trailer, but I honestly REALLY enjoyed it. The movie was very enjoyable and the acting and story were great. The soundtrack was killer. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. So far (to be fair it's only June) my favorite movie of 2021.
May 18, 2021
The Angry Birds Movie 26
May 18, 2021
I didn't like this one as much as the first one. Hear me out. I know the target audience isn't alone above maybe 10 years old. But the first movie was definitely easier to swallow for anyone above 15. I liked some moments, but the entire sidequest of the little birds was not necessary to the main plot. Plus if they got the skin from that snake, they straight killed that snake.
May 14, 2021
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire9
May 14, 2021
Overall enjoyed it about the same as the first movie, but I feel like this one was better for one reason. We got to know the characters from the last movie, and we had more time to learn about the world-building and characters before the games. The visuals are better than the last, the acting is great. The story keeps you developed in their world-building. I enjoy this movie as well as the last. The other too I need to watch again.
May 14, 2021
It: Chapter Two6
May 14, 2021
Though it was still a good movie, It lacked some of the charisma that part one had. Pennywise still had great scenes, props to Skarsgard for his portrayal. It was still enjoyable though not as good.
May 14, 2021
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones6
May 14, 2021
I was critical of this movie at first thinking it was the worst one yet, but if you can look past the dialogue choices between Anakin and Padme, awesome movie. Geonosis and Kamino are two of my favorite Star Wars planets.
May 7, 2021
The Hunger Games8
May 7, 2021
A sad but beautiful movie. I enjoy every bit of this movie. It may be messed up in a lot of ways, but that's just the worldbuilding of this dystopia. The Hunger Games shocked me. It told a story that needed to be told.
Apr 3, 2021
Godzilla vs. Kong7
Apr 3, 2021
It was fun, but not a cinematic masterpiece for sure. It was thrilling, it was visually pleasing, some of the camera work is cool. But it had the same problem as the other monster verse movies with the human characters being kind of lame. And the same problem with Bat-Man v Superman with them duking it out for 5 minutes and then fighting something bigger.
Mar 31, 2021
Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)8
Mar 31, 2021
It was a hilarious movie, and it has great acting and storytelling. The performance by Ewan McGregor was amazing. And do stay after the credits.

The Art of Racing in the Rain8

The Huntsman: Winter's War6
Mar 30, 2021
I thought that it wasn't as good as its predecessor but it's still worth watching as it is very entertaining.
Mar 30, 2021
Snow White and the Huntsman7
Mar 30, 2021
It's not what I was expecting. I thought it would stick to the 7 Dwarfs more than it really did. But they managed to modernize Snow White to our audiences today pretty well.
Mar 30, 2021
Central Intelligence8
Mar 30, 2021
I was honestly just watching this to pass the time, but when I watched it I absolutely loved it! It keeps you entertained throughout the whole movie, it makes you think twice about every action the characters make. This is what I like to see in a solo movie.
Mar 30, 2021
Joker6
Mar 30, 2021
I liked this movie, but I didn't love it. I cant really explain it but I know anyone under 15 shouldn't even take a glance at this movie. As it's easily the darkest movie I've ever seen.
Mar 30, 2021
The Time Machine6
Mar 30, 2021
It was an entertaining movie, the acting was pretty good and the story was fun. Definitely watch it if it's on.
Mar 30, 2021
Star Wars: The Clone Wars4
Mar 30, 2021
It was okay, It gave an introduction to Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, other than that though it has really nothing going for it, poor animation, and story. Nothing compared to the show.
Mar 30, 2021
Hellboy3
Mar 30, 2021
It relied more on blood and gore, rather than actual story and dialogue. David harbor's acting and the practical effects are all this movie had going for it.
Mar 30, 2021
Oldboy7
Mar 30, 2021
I enjoyed the plot, it was messed up, but it was a good film. Josh Brolin and Elizebeth Olsen were really good in this, and the movie was entertaining enough for a watch or two.
Mar 30, 2021
Trolls3
Mar 30, 2021
A disturbing and wrong story full of poop jokes that's most deeming quality is its the soundtrack, and not because it's good, but because it gets stuck in your head.
Mar 30, 2021
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi7
Mar 30, 2021
Everything that makes Star Wars great is in this film. The music is great as always, the story is fun and thrilling (despite the Canto Bight part of the plot very obviously being filler), And without a doubt has the best visuals and is the most eye-pleasing of any Star Wars film to date. Say what you want about the film, but if you say the music and the visuals are bad you truly are a moron.
Mar 30, 2021
Avengers: Infinity War9
Mar 30, 2021
A cinematic spectacular. Avengers: Infinity War stands mighty as so far the best MCU film. The humor, the action, and the story are all phenomenal. The ending is something you've never seen in a superhero movie. This movie has some of the best twists. If only they released it on a break so that it wouldn't get spoiled the first day.
Mar 30, 2021
Malcolm & Marie5
Mar 30, 2021
It's a well-made indie film, not asking for much, no blockbuster, no franchise, and no oscar. it had a good cast and good acting, but at the end of the day, it was rather boring. Let's be honest, the only thing that keeps you interested is Zendaya.
Mar 30, 2021
Bee Movie7
Mar 30, 2021
This may not bee a great film story-wise. But what it lacks in the story it makes up for in good Comedy script, and voice acting. The film is wonky the first phase is Berry wanting a job, then falling in love with a human, then saving the flowers with some legal court thing thrown in the mix. The story is a mess, but this is one of the few films that I can ignore for.
