Exuberantly gross and proudly ridiculous, this Hellboy feels like the picture Glenn Danzig sees in his head when he doodles in his notebook.

Neil Marshall’s Hellboy is a monster mash, loud and proud. Just bring a mop.

King Boo is my favorite character. Oops. Wrong thing. Hellboy was my favorite character in this movie.

It's a strange movie sure, and maybe it has issues, sure, but I love it. I hope it gets a sequel.

Hell, yeah? Hellish, more like. Despite its lead’s best efforts, this disastrous deboot is a gore-soaked bore.

It’s lunging to be a badass hard-R epic, but it’s basically a pile of origin-story gobbledygook, frenetic and undercooked, full of limb-hacking, eye-gouging monster battles as well as an atmosphere of apocalyptic grunge that signifies next to nothing.

Marshall and screenwriter Andrew Cosby went overboard with their R-rating, introducing so much gore and profanity that it, quite frankly, gets dull. The flat performances and incoherent story do not help matters.

While the del Toro Hellboys were postmodern Frankenstein fables, shining with pathos, fun and fairy-tale allure, this unsolicited reboot is ugly, obnoxious and yowlingly witless, with nothing to say for itself that doesn’t start with the letter F.

The race for worst movie of the year is heating up. You could even say it’s hotter than hell, now that Hellboy has taken the lead. This awful, disgusting, unfunny, idiotically plotted comic book flick offends the senses as much as the rankest subway car on the hottest summer day.

I loved it. The entire time I was watching it, I never took off my really cool wig. I recommend.

Yeah this was . . . interesting . . . not fun, but not torturous either. Great cast but it just didn't feel right and I think that carried through in almost every way. It was ok.

This iteration of Hellboy attempts to present too much at once and at a blistering pace, one that cheapens many of the mythological references and supporting characters. For the uninitiated, this information overload can lead to disbelief and frustration, since the tempo is overreaching; overplaying its hand. The result is an audience who can’t connect to what is being presented; unable to appreciate the story being told (which, in this case, is Hellboy canon direct from the original comic book). If you can overlook the very common film industry mistakes that completely derail this film (Milla Jovovich’s horrible performance notwithstanding), you’ll see a charming and well performed protagonist, with his legendary wit and antics, surrounded by his supporting characters, having to face his fate. Pretty Metal.

For a 2019 film the CGI is to **** scenario gets carried away in the last minute of the film as if we were watching a film while the screenwriter was writing at the same time.I felt like I was watching improvisation **** marriage between the medieval era and the modern world is completely **** bad because the casting was good.

Really needed Guillermo del Toro to direct and write. Has gore but not much else.
