Little Nightmares III5

Little Nightmare 3 is an honestly disappointing successor to 2 other very good games. It looks good and that's about it. The puzzles are too easy and there are far to few of them. The monsters in this one lacked the same design and "creepiness" that the first two games had, making them fairly forgettable. My biggest issue however is that its $40 for a game that takes maybe 4-5 hours to beat. I wasn't even trying to get through it quickly. Now I know the first 2 weren't long games by any means but they had more substance to make it far less noticeable. Its just a disappointing game that is now also asking you for 15 more dollars to see more of the story. Overall, I would skip this one and just watch a playthrough or look up what happens if your at all interested.

This is the best FPS tactical game to come out in quite some time. The dark story and fun gunplay make it a great game who's been trying to scratch that itch for a game that takes itself seriously and is still fun to play. Now I know all of the controversy with the censorship will make people less likely to purchase it and I totally understand. I think that censorship in a game like this takes away a lot of the themes that the game has and overall diminishes the impact certain moments have. However it is still a good videogame that I would recommend for anyone looking for a fresh take on the FPS genre.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard7

This is an average fantasy game but a bad dragon age game. I think if it had nothing to do with the dragon age franchise the same game would have been met much better. The gameplay was fine and the story wasn't terrible, although by the end I didn't care at all about any of the side quests. The ending section was the best part but it was a very "Bioware" ending. It wasn't as cringe or unserious as i was expecting it to be from everything I had heard about it.

To get the bad out of the way, I hated the sky armor sections and was not a fan of how the last area of the game was mainly sky armor combat. Its way more difficult then it needs to be and I just wasn't a fan of the changing gear mechanic or how it changed the overdrive bar. Other then that the game was great. Good combat and I liked the overdrive mechanic as well as how after every battle your HP and TP would completely replenish. I wish more JRPGs did this so you could focus on using fun skills without having to worry about potions and other **** after the fight. The characters were fun but mid way through you didn't really have to swap anymore since the 4 I had to start each encounter were more then enough. Another bad thing actually was that I had to turn down the difficulty or I would not have been able to progress past the sky armor fight with Matthye. So from that point on the rest of the game was played on a lower difficulty. Storywise I really enjoyed it. Learning how ether works and how you can be reincarnated through the maelstrom. How Glenn had actually lived countless lives and the way they explained how you would die if you learned about your past lives to quickly was clever too. It did kind of come across as the same plot as mass effect with the whole cycle of destruction to clean the planet but the reason was to keep the harbinger locked up. It was also a much darker game then the art would make you think, like if it wasn't pixel art the game would feel way more **** up story wise. But I liked that about it. Kylian surviving and Glenn sacrificing himself fits his character very well and it gets me excited to see if Matthias is planning a sequel for the game or not. Leaves you on a bit of a cliff hanger with the Kylian leaving and the lizard guy going off to see if he can break the curse of the pact. I am looking forward to see what gets done in the future and am genuinely hoping for a sequel.

Fun Gameplay with a cute story about putting your mothership back together. Every single level is fun and uses the powerups in a fun and creative way. All the boss fights are good, and just challenging enough to be entertaining. Most of my frustration came from the levels that are actually supposed to be hard so I can't really get mad at them for that. Also, all the bots that reference old and new games are very unique and fun to find. It absolutely oozes with love for video games in general and is super obvious that the developers loved making the game as much as I liked playing it. Overall great game that I think deserves game of the year and will make me keep an eye on Team Asobi and there future projects.
