When things are working, Ready or Not can be a lot of fun. The problem, is, Ready or Not rarely works, either as expected, as intended, or as I’d like it to. Some may enjoy its edginess, and others may find a completely different experience engaging in multiplayer. I’m frankly too concerned about toxicity from what I’ve heard in single-player to dabble in this exercise with randoms on mics.
Gripping, no-frills action with annoying rough edges - but so spot-on in terms of content that the big shooters should take a leaf out of their book.
Ready or Not absolutely nails the feeling of being in an Elite SWAT unit, packing mass appeal for tactical shooter fans.

I bought the physical version for PS5, so this is the only place I can say how Ready or Not is in May 2026. The game surprises with a truly complex and interesting gameplay, each mission can be completed in several different ways, playing it really makes you feel like a member of a special unit. I bought the physical version for PS5, so this is the only place I can say how Ready or Not is in May 2026. The game surprises with a truly complex and interesting gameplay, each mission can be completed in several different ways, in addition, with each attempt, some enemies appear in different places on the map and can change their behavior, playing it really makes you feel like a member of a special unit. The game still contains bugs that break the immersion, but most are more amusing than harmful. The most common glitch is the teleporting body of a fallen enemy during a preventative handcuffing. A bug that happened once was comical, which is probably a downside given the game's serious subject matter. It happened when an enemy held a gun to a hostage's head and one of my companions decided to approach and handcuff the hostage. If you overlook the glitches, the gameplay is incredibly addictive. I hope they get fixed to deserve a full 10/10. I recommend it to every FPS fan. The game runs smoothly and hasn't stuttered once. It looks great despite being powered by the Unreal Engine. Using weapons is satisfying, you can feel the weight of shots, and the sound is very realistic. It's a shame you have to pay a tribute to Sony for online play, but that's not the developers' fault, so this fact doesn't affect my final rating. 9/10 due to bugs.

This game is... PEAK ! But why 9 out 10 ? i will go for some details who for me are annoying but before lets go for what's good : graphics goated, gameplay on point, lifetime almost infinite bc you can replay all missions, immersion, stress and stories... just wow i was not waiting this ! But what (in my opinion) is clearly missing is some "mini" missions in small place like small house, shop... like almost all real swat missions. Even if they are shorter we need more and maybe mission in some "normal place" bc every missions are like in dirty/cahotic place, go for a typical american suburbs it will be so cool ! And they delete former missions idk why, this missions where cool too. And I will go for the gameplay, the tactical aspect is not realist, mod correct that but wtf look what ground branch thats how a military or police good prepared guy act. finally the customisation is too poor, we cant hide our face with a baclava but every swat agent in reality had their face hide for security reason. I forget about Gunsmith, for me it can be better more attachement like again mod do it or more realistic ! But out of this clearly this game is a banger and one of my favorite game ever :)

Supposedly worse graphics than bodycam but definitely better, it's a pity that the missions are too repetitive and usually the enemy locations don't change much during the missions, in my opinion better missions They are for DLC, the game itself is realistic (to a certain extent), there are a lot of weapons but not many missions to be honest.

Ready or Not’s grounded, gritty gameplay is one of the best tactical experiences on console. It requires you to take it seriously to be successful, but that’s what an elite tactical shooter will do. If you’re into this sort of thing, I highly recommend it.

Seriously gamers need to find moderation with games these days, there are a lot of bad games in the last 7 years, and this isn't one of them. This game is as milsim as it gets. Its intense, the environmental story telling is as good if not arguably better than Bethesda. The weapons and skins are great. Everything about this game took time and creativity to a point. Also, for the price ($50) it's worth it.

I didn't think it was possible, but Ready or Not’s unique thrills and overwhelming controls have adapted well to the PlayStation 5.

The console version of Ready or Not retains both the best and worst aspects of the PC game. Although it suffers from performance issues and crashes that could be resolved with future updates, it stands out visually for its impressive graphics, despite some minor bugs.

For those who count Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and SWAT 4 among some of the best tactical shooters around, playing Ready or Not feels like riding a bike. Even with the adjustment of going from PC to console, Ready or Not still shoots to the top of the list of tactical shooters available on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, because there's simply not much else on the market like it.

Ready or Not is a tense, strategy-focused tactical FPS where careful planning matters more than speed. It offers immersive, high-stakes missions and a strong sense of realism but struggles with clunky controls, a steep learning curve, and downgraded visuals on consoles. A rewarding yet demanding experience for patient players.

Very good tactical shooter. No bs. No skins. Yet plenty of real life cosmeticchoices and weapons.

This game is good, but the gameplay on PlayStation is really bad. You actually need to play it on a PC. Another problem on PlayStation is the text size—it’s way too small, you can barely see anything.

Ready or Not for the PS5 retains the gameplay of the original PC release however the reason the game for PS5 is bumped down so heavily is because the censorship is far too heavy handed and causes such an issue to the game's atmosphere that it completely crushes any kind of nuanced or balanced take on the world of the game and it's many troubles. It makes the game essentially a playground for kids where the original was a serious addressing of the many problems of our world and highlighted the inequalities and injustices that funnel people into doing the things they do. By censoring some of the more visually confronting moments this takes away that impact and creates a dangerous misunderstanding of the situations in which the operators find themselves in. Ultimately it also creates a draconian attitude towards creative expression by cutting out certain things a particular platform doesn't agree with. The industry is far worse off having continued tightening restrictions on what content can and cannot be shown, within reason the practice of restricting particular ideas is ok but given the current state of continued tightening of restrictions further and further the gap for creative expression in video games is slowly dying.
