This movie was BAD. Not sure why it’s receiving such praise. A jester comes in makes a joke to the King and then Defoe is reused in a mask giving the king’s son initiation, asking “How are you human?” And the king and his son burp and fart. That kind of sums up the movie. The theater I was at erupted with laughter at most of the rituals and dances. This movie also couldn’t tell when the characters needed to speak old Viking language and when to speak English. The scenery is beautiful but the movie is so low budget each Billings carried like 12 soldiers and I think all the extras were just reused. The fight scenes are very slow, sluggish and poorly choreographed. The movie also takes many breaks from the plot to show dream sequences that aren’t really needed but are there. All in all, the Witch was better, this wasn’t good

You can feel the leaves..... Smell the wind.... Hear the whispers.... This movie is truly a spectacle. Everything about this movie feels authentic historically, emotionally, and physically. The actors do their part but mainly, this movie is a connection to nature and the philosophical aspects of what's done to it through history. This movie does not try and demonize the Indians or the English coming over, but takes time to understand them both equally and where they're coming from. You can feel the beating heart of this movie from start to finish and it's comforting hand. The towering trees shown from many low angle shots show nature's power above all things. Nature is silent and brings only ambience.... This movie is a phenomenal piece. Highly recommend 10/10

Now this is a great movie! Everything about this movie works. The movie spends an hour developing Bruce Wayne and the darkness around his character. The atmosphere, the ambience, the tunnel-sewer music creeping through pipes. This movie feels wretched and drips with fear. The Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul all do their part to psychologically push Bruce Wayne's darkness until it absorbs him completely. This film knows also how to perfectly balance comedic elements in the immense darkness and it does such a good job of it. This is the greatest batman movie ever made. I highly recommend it to everyone! 10/10 This movie is just great from start to finish.

This is a joker film, not a batman film. But that's perfectly alright. The main flaw I have to say about this film is that it wants to show us too much, too fast. This, in my opinion, ruins the continuity that made the first film so great. In the first film, each character from Bruce Wayne, Henri Ducard, to John Crane, was fleshed out and had depth. But in this one, the film is so excited to show you Heath Ledger's Joker, that it seems to ignore everything else! And Rachel Dawes? Well she's being played by a new actress (Not Katie Holmes) who does not act well in her role at all. She feels like a completely different person from the first film. And Bruce Wayne? Well he's just there for the show. The sprinkle on Joker's Cake. This entire movie, is only about Heath Ledger's Joker performance.... Now to the main portion of this review, the portion everyone is so overhyped for.... Heath Ledger's Joker performance! It was great! He completely deserved an oscar! But the negative I do have to note is, this film shouldn't have shown Two-Face, nor all the other mob bosses. It should have only focused around the Joker and developed this character out a bit. This entire movie feels like one big explosion from start to finish while Bruce Wayne is in his home chumming down on some popcorn. It really felt like he was not in this movie with how underdeveloped everything else was to the Joker. Overall, I rate this movie a 6/10. It will be remembered for Heath Ledger's Joker performance, but no one else's flat performance. I somewhat recommend this.

The characters in this movie aren't dumb. The first act builds itself up nicely with some brilliant set pieces and interesting character development. But when the second act comes, you begin to know this movie is purely out to please its gorefest slasher fan boys and the mediocrity starts to show. It's unfortunate because I wanted to like this movie a lot. Almost every time the clown reveals itself, its posture, face, and overall demeanor you don't expect. It entertained me each time until the second act. The first act = 8/10 The last act = 2/10 Total score = 6/10. Somewhat recommend.

This movie is a monster in and of itself. Everything about this movie from the Halloween setup to the simple 2-key music, is scary. The atmosphere sets you up for something so off, while remaining subtle throughout. Every character you see seems isolated in Michael Myers' little world. A killer that you want to know his backstory, but at the same time, it's irrelevant. Because he is the epitome of evil and the part of the world we try so hard to ignore. I highly recommend this movie in every respect. It's a brilliant movie that has meaning and speaks without killing or giving a narrative on what it's about. 10 out of 10. Excellent

You can't...... Really say this movie does anything wrong. The acting is great, the atmosphere is phenomenal, and the set pieces are brilliant. But I don't recommend watching this movie with any members of your family because the dialogue is just..... Uncomfortable. You may even turn off this film with guests around and switch it to the latest superhero movie just to ease the awkwardness as you try to erase this movie from your mind. But this movie, even alone, makes you feel violated. It creeps into your inner conscience because you know, that the only reason this movie is successfully violating you and making you feel uncomfortable is because it's excellent at what it sets out to do. To make you feel like you've entered the house of someone on the dark web. 8 out of 10! Highly recommend
