Sadly legitimately one of the worst iterations. It caters way too much to online diamond dynasty players while ruining offline modes like RTTS. I do NOT care for PvP and cards. Stop forcing that on us. Heavily disappointed with the check swing system too where 98% are strikes. If you're going to make separate balance for online (the competitive setting) why are controls in other modes identical? I'll give them credit for the stadium creator which is absolutely phenomenal. It has some ways to go but I'm amazed in their first implementation. Franchise is unchanged per usual, so the only enticing factor is making a team and stadium. Worst feature missing is sounds of the show. This is by far the most immersion breaking missing feature and MUST be brought back in the future.

I played it on my ps5 expecting all the issues to be just last gen. I was wrong. The graphics are so bad man. I didn't need to be blown away, just something good but it couldn't even accomplish that. Character models are awful, long distance textures don't load making scaling immersion breaking. I can forgive glitches and what not this early but... these graphics are bad. REALLY bad. The city feels lifeless and empty. I felt skeptical in the club to start thinking I let would get better in the city. Didn't expect it to get worse. The vibe is cool and the idea that they made a world is cool but I'll wait for the next gen game update it's unplayably ugly right now. Can't believe a game can look this bad the same year spiderman and tsushima look so good. I waited 8 years I guess I'll wait another.

Big fan of their previous games and expected another tame and short ~10 hour game. I WAS WRONG. I'm 50 hours in and I seriously cannot stop playing. This is far and away the game of the year. Best soundtrack, best combat, fantastic voice acting, and so so much replayability.

I've tried far cry before and I didn't enjoy it (3). Mostly because I typically don't enjoy open world games. The difference is? Coop throughout the story. The game is EXTREMELY enjoyable when you have a friend to play with. Sections I'm sure as hell I'd be frustrated with end up being hilarious when there's someone there that could just revive you and negate the dumb death. Atmosphere and music are beautiful and I LOVE how they handled the villains.

I had no idea what this game was until I saw it on sale. I remember hearing a lot of people say it was their GOTY in 2019 so I had to check it out. My god. The story is told so wonderfully, so mysteriously, it captured me. I don't remember the last time I can't pull myself away from the computer at 5 am because I wanted to find this one little clue I was missing - oh wait while I'm at it let's go find this other one. I have put far more hours into other storyline games and I don't ever remember being this captured. I'm in awe and terrified every moment of this game. It is quite possibly the best game I have ever played.

Graphically and game play wise, an absolute masterpiece. I wanted to like it so bad. I was so hyped from the trailers but MY GOD the story was bad. I cringed throughout the entire thing. So much horrid dialogue and character assassinations. I can't get myself to go fully through it because the story is THAT unbearably bad.

EA has an awful and rightfully so reputation the last decade or so. The last one I bought from them thoroughly disappointed me in the first Battlefront. Hadn't trusted them to make a proper game since. But man, am I GLAD I went for this one. It feels like God of War but with light sabers. I really didn't think I would enjoy this game nearly as much and boy am I so glad I listened to others in buying this game. The combat is beautifully fluid with a need to pay constant attention to every battle to go unscathed. I absolutely LOVE how much effort this game takes. The boss battles? Man the boss battles feel amazing. I don't recall ever having this much fun in any star wars game.

Great game with a moving story. The game itself was seriously hindered by poor movement mechanics and the inability to skip dialogue when repeating scenes is pretty unacceptable. You can't possibly expect us to do different routes in the flowchart if we have to watch the same scenes over again. Virtue's last reward executed this system perfectly many years ago. It's a shame such a simple mechanic was overlooked.

Honestly, the first couple hours I played this game it was ridiculously boring with little to no draw. It was not until the 3v3 game started to pick up in difficulty that the game became enjoyable. It doesn't come close to bastion or transistor but the music was nice and the visuals were beautiful. My primary complaint deals with the overwhelming amount of dialogue told through reading. It was so much reading I just started skipping much of the dialogue. The ending was quite disappointing too. Still, solid game that had me hooked for hours.

The additions this year were more subtle to the average player, but really were instrumental for me actually buying this year's addition. Namely, the re implementation of your own music into every aspect of the game. There really isn't anything more satisfying than hitting a monster home run with your favorite song playing throughout the stadium. This was the biggest loss from transitioning from the ps3 to the ps4. And it took until this addition, finally, to be reintroduced. The second is the advanced statistics. There is absolutely nothing better than seeing WAR in the game. It warms my heart so to see my previous year's terrible -0.64 WAR along with a terrible BB% and K%. Really brings the reality of baseball to the game. Finally there is a reason to work for that walk to raise that OBP. Finally there is a stat that shows that no, it's your team's terrible defense not your pitching. The other new mode is quite fun but isn't nearly as significant as those two. Sure the release was rocky, but no game deserves to be rated based on its release alone.

I absolutely loved this game. It feels VERY similar to Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, and that's my all time favorite game so I'm happy. Issue is I wish they didn't have such awfully generic characters. I mean good god are they generic. But still, solid story. The trial is fun to go through, but many times annoying. A rhythm game to shut someone up? Really? Purple text you have to shoot down to memorize something then replay it again to shoot that memorized phrase at an earlier statement? Oh those were frustrating.

Soul Sacrifice7

Fantastic and unexpected game for the vita. The combat is fun, but there isn't much depth to it. It's just rolling around and firing your weapon. Though somehow this ends up being unbelievably fun. The story is short but sweet. The voice acting is phenomenal (The Japanese one however, is god awful). The music is generic inside battles, but when in the menu screens are going through the story, it is unlike any other. It has complete influence of emotional responses throughout the story. Fusing system is simple, yet addictive. The flaws? God awful human AI. The average partner will die 10-15 times a boss regardless of how many times you heal them fully. They do not roll, they do not avoid monsters. They stand still and take the blow far too often. I go out of my way to revive someone? They die instantly. Monster jumps in the air and is aiming for them? Cool, they'll just stand still and die. This made the game extremely frustrating when going for the save route. Not to mention in some stages it is possible to get trapped by a gigantic monster in a corner, and get glitched there until death. Regardless if the monster jumps in the air, you are still unable to move from the spot. Those moments are highly frustrating. Also, F**k cats.

The key factor for this game was the vastly improved commentary. It's much more faster paced and put together than the previous game's long periods of time without a word of commentary. It now competes with 2k in that category, as that was THE only category 2k was better in. Loving the new camera angles that get excellent views of inside the stadium that were missed in all the previous games. Sound is fantastic as always. I can't find issues with the game after a month of playing. The new features just make it worth the purchase.

Incredible story filled with twists. It was nice to start of with the original metal gear solid and then go right into the hd mgs2. Goodness the improvement in controls and graphics left me stunned. Music was phenomenal. There were some noticeable glitches like the inability to move while hanging off a rail sometimes, and would require you to get back up and try it again in hopes that you will be able to move this time. Unfortunately this resulted in at least 10 or so death as it is very easy to fall off the edge when trying to get to the rail just to repeat the process. Dialogue sometimes glitched but it wasn't a big deal. The story and great gameplay and music were far too good to put this anything less than 10/10.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare7
Jan 27, 2013
A unique and creative experience. The entire idea of a medieval based combat world is a great idea and it was certainly well executed. The problem is the ability to win with the old hack and slash strategy. Regardless of how high your skill level is, there will always be some people interrupting a battle slashing away randomly and getting an ungodly high score. It's incredibly easy to counter this on a solo fight, but in FFAs and anything higher than 2v1, it's impossible. Still that's in the hands of the players and not the fault of the game. The game just lacks replay value. I'm not very fond of playing this very often because it's not the most appealing thing I've ever played. It gets dull rather quickly and I'm only motivated to play every once in a while.
