Incredibles 210
Jul 1, 2018
Incredibles 2 is incredible! Just not quite as incredible as The Incredibles. I like many many others have waited anxiously for 14 years for this movie and now we finally have it. This was my favorite movie as a kid, this and Finding Nemo, and I would play it over and over again every day. I got in trouble and had the movie taken away from me for a week because I told my parents to shut up after hearing Violet say it. The Incredibles was my life, so yeah I was pumped for this sequel! And I loved it! It's such an intelligent and mature animated movie just like the first one. There are multiple scenes dedicated to people talking about their views on society and the world and I was just like wow, I'm watching this in an animated movie. It's unfair to call this or the first one a kids movie because they're aimed towards everyone. I was just bubbling with excitement throughout the entire movie. From the amazing action scenes, characters, and it's philosophy. Yes, there's a ton of philosophy in this movie, and I loved it! The only reason why I like this one less is because the villain's reveal could be seen from a mile away. Clearly, it doesn't really detract from your viewing experience. Oh, and also Jack Jack steals the show. Every scene he's in is awesome and hilarious. Particularly, an entire scene dedicated to him fighting a raccoon. If we do not get an Incredibles 3 I will die, I don't care if I have to wait another 14 years, clearly, this one was worth the 14 year wait anyways. A+

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom7
Jul 1, 2018
Unfortunately, this is a huge disappointment. Now in saying that, it's a huge disappointment because it's an alright follow up to the amazing classic that is Jurassic Park. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is one of the better sequels in the Jurassic Park series, then again the only movie it beats is Jurassic Park III, which isn't saying much. All the gripes people had about Jurassic World are back again, but this time much MUCH worse! Could we please be done with the weaponizing dinosaurs and genetic engineering sub-plots?! They weren't good the first time around and now they're even worse. These movies really need to learn how to handle their characters. There's no character development. Every character is the exact same from the last movie. Also, quit turning Jurassic Park into a monster movie franchise. Not one scene in this movie wowed me either, which is extremely unusual for a Jurassic Park movie. The shock and awe are apparently gone. It also doesn't help that you saw the whole movie in the last trailer. But aside from all of these negatives, ultimately you can go to this movie and be entertained for 2 hours. It also has a pretty interesting moral dilemma and does something at the end of the film that I'm really intrigued to see where they take it. So, yeah, it's a stupid monster movie with a lot of flaws, but it's entertaining. Is it worth the ticket price, well that's up to you? C-

Star Trek: First Contact9
Apr 10, 2018
Easily the second best Star Trek film. First Contact balances its story, action, and characters beautifully. The story is very interesting, the crew of the Enterprise has to go back in time to stop the Borg from preventing First Contact. If I had one complaint about this movie it would be that Zephram Cochrane is kind of annoying at first. As I have already stated, the film handles its story, action, and characters beautifully. There's not a dull scene in the movie. It also has one of the best scenes in all of the Star Trek films when Lily and Picard argue over blowing up the Enterprise and he gives his fantastic we draw the line here speech. Overall, definitely the second best Star Trek, it just doesn't quite deserve that A+ and top spot. A

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country9
Apr 9, 2018
The Undiscovered Country is a great way to send off the original series, but is it the best movie? No. The Wrath of Khan still holds that title. This is a very interesting Star Trek film because it has one of the more interesting plots. Peace with the Klingons. It allows the film to delve into topics like prejudice and racism. It has a great villain with an interesting twist. Overall it's one of the better Star Trek films, the part of the movie that I don't care for though is when they're at that Klingon prison. Other than that it's one of the best Star Trek movies. A-

Love, Simon9
Apr 9, 2018
This film felt like a breath of fresh air for so many reasons. One, I'm tired of the overabundance of straight romance in television and movies. Two, it doesn't have the tired romance film formula. This film really impacted me because all of my friends are either gay or bi, I finally got to be in their shoes. So, it meant a lot to me to see a love story that could relate to them. I also myself am constantly confused about my sexuality and haven't determined what I'm into yet. So, yes this movie meant a lot to me, but that's not the only reason I loved it. It was a story that really needed to be told, we really need more gay movies nowadays about the struggles of coming out. And like I said before it doesn't adhere to the typical romance formula and I'm tired of seeing the overabundance of straight couples in movies and television. Love, Simon is the film we really need right now to help closeted gay kids and to help people become even more accepting of homosexuality. It's the film we really need and it's a fantastic film. Although it is a little risque I believe that everyone needs to see this film. A

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi9
Apr 7, 2018
I like reading the reviews on here from the hurt Star Wars fanboys and fangirls. The Star Wars fandom is cancer. They act like they are entitled to see what they want in a Star Wars film. Wake up call, you don't own Star Wars. Anyways you complain that the newest is the worst one ever and then you go and pay to see the sequel. You theorize every little detail in the movies and trailers and set your expectations over the sun and then you wonder why you hated it. YOU are the reason that you hate this movie, not Rian Johnson. Anyways, now onto the review. The Last Jedi improves on the Force Awakens in many ways except pacing. This movie is a fresh new take on Star Wars that is incredibly entertaining and incredibly smart. This movie finally does what the other films preach about and it tells us to leave the past behind. It's important but the future is just as important. Now, the only reason why I like the Force Awakens more is that it has better pacing. This film really drags in the second act with the Casino scene and then after that, it becomes amazing **** Last Jedi has really high highs and is a fresh new take on Star Wars. A

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi8
Apr 7, 2018
Easily the worst of the original trilogy. Return of the Jedi fails to live up to A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back because its story isn't as good and it's pacing isn't as good. We get another Death Star in this movie and it just felt like it didn't need to be there at all. It was kinda stupid to bring it back. The pacing in this movie is either it feels rushed or it's dragging. A lot of the scenes with the Ewoks drag and they're another weak element of the film. Other than this though, the film is very entertaining and a worthy conclusion to the trilogy. B+

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back10
Apr 7, 2018
Definitely the best Star Wars film as of right now. It improves upon basically everything from A New Hope. And that is what a sequel is supposed to do, build upon its predecessor. Now, I'm not a Star Wars fanboy, I simply enjoy the movies and will go see them with my family when a new one comes out each year so I'm not going to praise this film for a hundred paragraphs, one sentence should explain why this is the best one. It was better than A New Hope. A+

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope10
Apr 7, 2018
A fantastic movie from start to finish, you can clearly see why this movie changed movies forever. There's not a dull moment in A New Hope, some might say that it one of the slower paced Star Wars movies, but I disagree. This movie chugs along at an incredible pace and never slows down. You have great characters, a great story, and you're just excited the whole time. How could you not love A New Hope? A+

Ready Player One8
Apr 7, 2018
Definitely not a great film but a very enjoyable one. My problem with Ready Player One is that it is really entertaining but it is just cake. This film has almost no substance and I just really wanted more to bite into than just cake. Now, it does work for this film because the characters are good, the action is great, and you're interested in seeing where the movie is going to go. So, overall Ready Player One is a very entertaining film and that's about it. B

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home9
Mar 14, 2018
Anyone could love this Star Trek film. It's absolutely hilarious and kinda feels like a breath of fresh air because we aren't sitting on the bridge of the Enterprise the whole movie, we're saving whales! It's fish out of water story because the crew of the Enterprise goes back in time to 1986 and like I've already mentioned, the humor is hilarious. This is a Star Trek film everyone has to see, it appeals to the Trekkies, the casual fans, and the ones who aren't even fans. It's definitely not the best one, but it's still great. A-

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock8
Mar 14, 2018
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is another entertaining Star Trek movie. Is it the best Star Trek movie? No. Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is kinda hammy and the pacing is a little iffy, it's also really dark for a Star Trek film. Other than that, you will yourself enjoying almost all of the movie. B
Mar 14, 2018
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan10
Mar 14, 2018
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is quite possibly the best Star Trek film (undecided at the moment). It's entertaining, thrilling, and it has great themes. Need I mention the fantastic villain that is Khan?! From start to finish you're thrilled and compelled, from the story to the characters. This film is so much better paced than The Motion Picture (otherwise known as The Motionless Picture). By the end of the movie, you are thoroughly entertained and moved at the same time. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is fantastic! A+

A Wrinkle in Time8
Mar 11, 2018
I don't get all the hate for this film, I found myself really enjoying it. A Wrinkle in Time is gorgeous to look at and a very entertaining film overall. I found the characters to be really interesting and compelling and the story was also really good. There were some really touching moments **** pacing was a little iffy, but other than that I was really enjoying it. Overall, I found this to be a really entertaining film to watch and I don't understand the hate at all. B

Star Trek: The Motion Picture7
Mar 10, 2018
Not a great way to introduce Star Trek to the silver screen. Is Star Trek: The Motion Picture a bad movie? No. Is it a great movie? No. This film has the bad reputation of being bad because it's boring. While, yes it is boring, it is not bad. It has an intriguing plot and gorgeous visuals. Yes, the movie would have been a lot better if more happened, but it is in no way bad. It's an intriguing and visually gorgeous, boring movie. C
Mar 10, 2018
Star Trek: Insurrection7
Mar 10, 2018
Slow paced but entertaining. Star Trek: Insurrection is definitely not one of the better Star Trek movies, it mostly feels like an extended episode with a big budget. The special effects though are quite sub-par, they haven't aged as well as the other Star Trek movies. Insurrection is also slow-paced, it takes an hour for anything of real interest to happen. But it is entertaining and it does have an intriguing ethical question, it just didn't need to be made into a movie. C+

The Greatest Showman7
Mar 9, 2018
The Greatest Showman is a visual treat and just that. I heard mediocre reviews from the critics and everyone else has just absolutely adored it, I'm in the middle. It was entertaining and the characters were pretty entertaining, but it focused more on the glamour than anything. This movie hoodwinked us just like the show hoodwinked its audience. I don't believe that this story was all just wonder, glamour, and singing. We did get to see a little bit of the dirty stuff behind it, such as the social prejudice. Other than that, this was just a fairly entertaining movie. I didn't feel moved when I left the theater, I left thinking that that was just fine. C+

Wonder9
Mar 9, 2018
I expected to enjoy this film, but I loved it! Wonder is such a heartwarming and entertaining film, with compelling characters that we can feel for. This is a film that you will find yourself feeling so happy and warm while watching it, yet feel so down when the characters get dragged through the mud. That is a wonderful (pun intended) thing and exactly what this film needed. We didn't need another sappy and cliched film, which it kinda became a little bit of that near the end. I really recommend Wonder. A
Mar 9, 2018
Thor: Ragnarok9
Mar 9, 2018
The best Thor movie by far, but is it the best Marvel movie? No. Is that a bad thing? No. Thor: Ragnarok is extremely entertaining and refreshing. It stripped away everything that was established about Thor and made it work. I must applaud how self-aware this film is, it makes even more hilarious. Now, while this an extremely entertaining film, that's pretty much all there is to it. Besides the Shakespearean sibling battle for the throne that's always interesting, there's not much else to Thor: Ragnarok besides it being vastly entertaining. So, while being one of the better Marvel films, other than stripping away everything we knew about its character and being hilariously self-aware, it's just another Marvel movie. A-

Coco9
Mar 9, 2018
Coco is another success for Pixar! None of us are surprised when we hear that anymore because Pixar, while it has had its rough patches, puts out fantastic movies. Coco is another touching and entertaining movie that you cannot miss, this time Pixar is showing the importance of family and culture. And it's done beautifully, same as the animation. You never go into a Pixar film expecting bad or sub-par animation. As for flaws, for a bit I was like this is entertaining but when is it going to great?! Soon I was rewarded and Coco just kept getting better! I loved Coco! A

Early Man7
Mar 4, 2018
I simply do not understand how this movie got such good reviews, it really confuses me. I went into this movie expecting to really enjoy it because it is Aardman, and Aardman makes great movies. This was a total snooze, I laughed one time and at the very beginning. I was very disappointed with this movie, it was just barely entertaining enough to keep me awake. The animation, as usual, is terrific; but only really in the case of the scenery, the characters just look so unappealing. Overall, this was just an eh movie, I was bored but slightly entertained. If you want to watch it, just wait until it's on DVD. C
Mar 4, 2018
Black Panther8
Mar 4, 2018
To be honest, this movie is very overrated by the critics. Now, that's not a great way to start a review, but the critics have absolutely adored this movie and hailed it as the greatest superhero movie of all time. It certainly is not. This film has some very amazing messages and the best MCU villain up to date (for now), the problem is that it seems like the critics have been caught up in both of those that they overlook the film's flaws. While the rest of the movie is not your typical Marvel movie, the first-hour certainly is. Killmonger is completely underused, he shows up and then doesn't come back in the film until 20 or 30 minutes before it ends. The CGI is inexcusably bad for a movie like this, to the point where it distracts me from enjoying the finale, which is an OK finale to begin with. Still, Black Panther is a pretty great Marvel film, filled with amazing messages and characters. It's just not as great as the critics say it is. B+

Maze Runner: The Death Cure8
Mar 4, 2018
Was it worth the almost 3-year wait, yes it was (mostly)? Maze Runner: the Death Cure is by no means a fantastic movie, it is however highly enjoyable. It starts out with a fantastic train heist sequence that pulls you into the movie and it keeps chugging along (pun intended) for awhile. Then it kinda slows down in the middle and becomes sorta melodramatic for a bit, which I didn't understand; while it was the weakest part of the movie it did have some standout scenes. What made the whole movie for me was the last 40 to 50 minutes of it, filled with amazing action sequences and some really great (not to mention terribly sad) character scenes. And then we wrap it all up with a fantastic ending, which was easily the best part of the movie. Another thing I loved is that I enjoyed it more than the book, it wasn't irritating, although the dialogue was cheesy and incredibly predictable. I knew what characters were going to say before they said it and was like they're going to say that and then they did say just that. That happened about 20 times. Overall, it had a better story than the Scorch Trials movie and was much more engaging. This one or the first one is probably the best of the trilogy, and thank goodness that it was a trilogy. B

It9
Jan 21, 2018
While the rest of my family was disappointed because they weren't scared, I knew exactly what I was getting into. It is a horror movie but it is also a character piece, so I figured it wouldn't be scary. Now, that doesn't mean that the terror scenes aren't relentless. They are, you barely have room to breathe in between Pennywise's attacks on the various children. I loved It and I highly recommend it.

Transformers: The Last Knight4
Oct 2, 2017
Do not recommend, if it would have just found one thing and stuck with it this movie could at least be somewhat enjoyable. Thus, the problem with the movie, it has too many characters and too many things going on at one time. Even the action is hard to follow. I feel like the movie was either mediocre or awful at times. I do not recommend this.

Despicable Me 37
Jul 7, 2017
Unfortunately, this shows that the Despicable Me movies just need to stop, I'm not saying this movie is bad it's just fine. The problem is nothing is refreshing anymore, and it just feels old. It is entertaining and the characters are great as ever, but I can't but feel a sense of boredom with this series. We all know there will be a sequel though, based on the ending. C+

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl8
Jun 7, 2017
A pure blast of a film this is, although near the end it just feels like it is going on forever and becomes quite exhausting. This is quite a long film and it really didn't need to be, but it's still great fun. B
Jun 7, 2017
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales8
Jun 7, 2017
The best sequel since Dead Man's Chest, Dead Men Tell No Tales is a blast, this Pirates of the Caribbean movie is pure fun and if you go in expecting anything else I don't know what to tell you. It does jump around a lot though kind of leaving you gasping for air, and there a few plot holes, all in all, it's a fun film that I recommend you go see. B
May 24, 2017
The Giver8
May 24, 2017
The Giver is a thought provoking film, even if it's not as though provoking as the book. It is a little corny at times but this film is engaging and very rewatchable. B+

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 28
May 20, 2017
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is one of the better Marvel films. It starts off great but does drag in the second act as soon as they get to Ego's planet, it's all over the place but does have some great scenes in it. Oh, my the third act is great and so emotional. I highly recommend Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 even if it's not as good as the first one. B

Split9
May 20, 2017
Split is one of very few movies that actually scare me and creep me out. It's gorgeous to look at and it's so thought provoking and fun to watch meanwhile suspenseful at the same time. The second act does drag a bit but I highly recommend Split. A-

Born in China8
Apr 24, 2017
Entertaining, educational, gorgeous to look at, and really funny. Born in China is a blast, although it does tend to become more childish at times which detracts from your enjoyment a little bit but not much. B
Apr 14, 2017
Star Trek Beyond9
Apr 14, 2017
Without a doubt the worst of the new Star Trek movies, though it is still a blast. This film is a character driven and the characters are fantastic, this film is gorgeous, it is hilarious, and it is just so much fun. The plot is silly and definitely the worst of them yet, the villain he's good but Khan good. All in all it is great film!
Apr 14, 2017
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens9
Apr 14, 2017
People complain that it's too much like A New Hope, and while yes they are very similar. Is that really all bad? In my opinion, no. A New Hope is a fantastic film and this film is pretty darn close. Is it as good as A New Hope? No. It's not quite as good. It has some plot conveniences that you can nitpick about and I suppose a new fresh film would have been better. But the new characters are amazing and I just can't help but go on this journey. I really do love this film. A
Apr 9, 2017
Arrival10
Apr 9, 2017
Quite possibly the best movie I have ever seen. This movie is gorgeous, though provoking, compelling, and an emotional ride. For me, that is the full package, it has a slow and thoughtful pace and isn't boring. I highly recommend this!
Apr 9, 2017
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice4
Apr 9, 2017
This movie is complete and utter trash, the only reason why I did not give it a 0, is because for a little bit it was actually okay. Then it becomes a convoluted mess that makes absolutely no sense, and I just don't care about what is going. I don't like DC besides Batman, but from the small portion of this movie that was actually watchable, it is obvious this movie had potential. Did I also mention that this is an over long mess!
Apr 9, 2017
Finding Dory8
Apr 9, 2017
Finding Dory is hilarious and compelling, I would say it has a better story than Finding Nemo. Is it better than Finding Nemo? No. Finding Dory falters because it is more childish and a little slow paced in the middle. Still, Finding Dory is great entertainment, and I highly recommend it!
Apr 9, 2017
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them9
Apr 9, 2017
This was fantastic! Get it? What a way to introduce Harry Potter fans to a new series, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time during this fun yet surprisingly dark, but not so surprisingly touching film. This is a must see, especially if you are a Harry Potter fanboy or fangirl!!!
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 29
Apr 9, 2017
Deathly Hallows Part 2, is fun, thrilling, emotional, and dark the whole through! SNAPE, WHY?! It mostly does justice to the book, besides that one scene at the end, you know what I'm talking about... And is the strongest entry in the series!
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I7
Apr 9, 2017
Deathly Hallows Part 1 feels disjointed at times and is slow, but it is gritty and dark and mostly enjoyable the whole way through. Definitely one of the weakest entries in the series.
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince9
Apr 9, 2017
One of the darkest and most emotional of the series, Half Blood Prince is also a fun and thrilling ride the whole way through! Even if it could have stuck to the book a little better, it is still another strong entry!
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix8
Apr 9, 2017
The Order of the Phoenix is one of the most hated of the Harry Potter movies, it should have been longer, and it could have done more justice to the book. But once again, we get an even darker Harry Potter film, with more character enrichment! This film is also really fun at the same time! Another strong entry!
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire9
Apr 9, 2017
The Goblet of Fire is extremely entertaining and once again very fun to watch. Much like the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Goblet of Fire is darker and more emotional, but this movie does the book the least justice and leaves so much out. At times it even feels like a bunch of random scenes put together, still, the Goblet of Fire is another strong entry in the Harry Potter series!
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban9
Apr 9, 2017
This film is beautiful to look at and so much fun to watch. The quiet moments where characters are talking are the best part of the movie, much like the book, this movie is more about enriching the characters we already know and love. Even if sometimes the film feels rushed, Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the best Harry Potter films and the best book!
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets7
Apr 9, 2017
The Chamber of Secrets is way too long, and after a while you just want it to end. Nevertheless, it starts out as a better movie than the Sorcerers Stone, as did the book, and is still exciting and fun; if not the most childish of the series.
Apr 9, 2017
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone8
Apr 9, 2017
The movie is slow at times and the direction is bland, but it is also so exciting and so much fun at the same time. By far the most book adaption of the movies, a must see!
Apr 9, 2017
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 29
Apr 9, 2017
This isn't an explosive finale, and it's not supposed to be. While there is action, the action is quiet brooding and few and far between, not loud and filled with non-stop shoot-outs and explosions. This movie is supposed to be a poignant tale of the effects of war and not an action movie, even though the book did do certain things better, this is still a fantastic conclusion!
Apr 9, 2017
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 19
Apr 9, 2017
This film is exactly what it needs to be, and it is extremely underrated. It is not dull, it is dark, gritty, emotional, captivating. Every scene is filled with such raw emotion. Besides from the District 8 scene, everything is directed wonderfully.
Apr 9, 2017
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire9
Apr 9, 2017
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is even more emotionally driven and more captivating than the original! Not only that, but the directing is SO much better, this is a gorgeous film.
