I'm so impressed by how well Silent Hill aged. I recently played it for the first time since I was a kid, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. This is how you kick off a franchise!

It's everything I ever hoped for, and more. Truly a masterclass in every way, and the first remake to rival the Resident Evil 1 remake as the greatest remake of all time. Praying that Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill 1 remake right now, because I need more! I love you Silent Hill 2 :)

Resident Evil 6 is criminally underrated. It may not feel like the 'survival-horror' roots of the series, but it's brilliant in its own way. I adored how grand the scope of the game felt, with four different campaigns - all with different characters and stories - paralleling each other, but then meeting at different points to create one huge overarching story. Personally, I didn't feel bored while playing the game at all, I was excited to experience each of the different playthroughs/campaigns, because they all felt so unique from one another. I loved how many great characters were in the game, but the standouts were absolutely Piers, Chris, Leon, Jake, Sherry and Ada. It was amazing seeing them all interacting throughout the game! The gameplay was always enjoyable, with a huge range of different enemies and monsters and bosses to battle. The game was very pretty visually/graphically too! And the locations and set pieces in this game were all great, and really impressive. Overall, this game isn't perfect, but it is an incredibly fun and impressive game, with a larger scope than any other Resident Evil game in the series. It does not deserve the negative reviews it has been flooded with.

Super Mario Maker 2 is a fun game, and definitely an improvement from Super Mario Maker on the Wii U. It adds a bunch of new features which makes creating and playing levels much more enjoyable. It also adds a single-player campaign, and although it's short and relatively uninspired, it's still something new to play around with. I have a problem with some of the cut features, like the amiibo costumes, as these were such a great feature in the original game, which many people adored. However, regardless of this, the game is still worth picking up if you're feeling creative, or even if you just want to play some platforming levels.

The remake of Resident Evil 1 is undoubtedly the greatest game of the entire Resident Evil franchise, and for me personally, it's my joint-favourite game of all time. This truly is the peak of horror gaming. Everything is seriously flawless, and so well thought out, and so exciting to play. The atmosphere of the game is absolutely haunting, and that makes it so incredibly memorable. Despite the game being old, it's so brilliant that I still want to replay the game over and over and over. I could rant all day about how perfect this game is, and how much I adore it, but the best way to find out its greatness is to play it yourself. Resident Evil 1 is truly a masterpiece, and truly a work of art.

I really wanted to love this game, but unfortunately, it's just average/mediocre. Most of the levels feel barebones and short, and The Complete Saga's levels were almost entirely superior to this. It feels like the game prioritised quantity over quality, which is incredibly unfortunate. So many incredible parts of the older games were cut, just to make room for endless open-world hub levels. And those hub levels are honestly not special enough to justify it - I'd prefer a game with fewer hub worlds and amazing levels, than a game with loads of hub worlds and mediocre levels. Also, the amount of bugs and glitches is disappointing too. But visually the game is pretty, there's a ton of characters with unique playstyles, and it's clear the devs put a ton of heart and work into the game, so I do appreciate that. Sadly I think this game just isn't finished, and needed more development time.

Fall Guys is a really fun game, especially when playing in a party with friends. My only criticism is that there's not enough minigames/game-modes in it - they get very repetitive after playing for a few hours because you've seen all there is to see in the game. But, hopefully more get added in future updates!

F13: The Game is a buggy mess... but it's a fun buggy mess. I cannot begin to explain the amount of fun I had playing this game with my friends. F13 may not be a good game from a technical/objective view point, but in terms of how fun it is to play, it's great. I do think this game could've become something really special if the lawsuit didn't end its development. But, either way, it's still enjoyable to play.

Obakeidoro!

User ScoreDracoshi

Obakeidoro is a game I hadn't heard of until recently, but it immediately caught my attention. I'm a big fan of similar games like Dead By Daylight and Friday the 13th, so seeing a game with similar gameplay - but with the adorableness of the little anime chibi characters - made me instantly want to buy it. Obakeidoro, simply put, is a fun game. If you play as a human, your goal is to survive 3 minutes, and if you play as a monster, your goal is to capture all the humans before 3 minutes is up. I've played it both with friends and online with strangers, and most of the time I've really enjoyed it, and it has been tons of fun. The gameplay and mechanics are very simplistic, but the variation in maps and monsters keeps the game feeling fresh each time I jump into it. The artstyle and game direction in general are very charming, and make the game nice to look at. The community playing the game is relatively small - I sometimes end up playing with the same people - but the game replaces players with CPU's if it can't find any real players to fill the lobby. The CPU's are mostly competent, and so they don't feel like they're making the game worse. A major criticism I have though is that it's not uncommon to bump into cheaters when playing the game - there has been numerous times I've played as the monster, but have been unable to catch the humans because they're using cheats that make me unable to grab them. This is frustrating, but it isn't frequent enough to ruin the game. There has not been any new content added to the game for months now, and I'm really hoping more gets added in the future - the game is lots of fun, and it clearly has a small but dedicated community who still play it, even after a year since launch. I can imagine continuing to play this game for a long time into the future, especially if there's more updates adding new maps, humans and monsters!

I can't believe a Rabbids game has become one of my favourites on the Nintendo Switch, but it somehow has. The game is very charming, from the graphics, to the story, to the humour. The gameplay is very fun and strategic, and was surprisingly challenging in some areas. The enemies and bosses were mostly unique and interesting, as were the playable characters. I have some criticisms - mainly that the story could've been better, and it's just annoying to be forced to always have Mario on your team - but they don't detract from the game enough to reduce the score lower than an 8. Overall, the game was a lot of fun, and quite lengthy too. I'd recommend!

I never wanted a direct sequel to TLOU - I always felt it was perfect the way it was and a sequel could only worsen the original. As a result, I was incredibly apprehensive and worried going into TLOU2, especially after the negative reactions to the leaks for this game. I went into this game preparing to hate it; but I was wrong. The graphics and gameplay - as expected - were flawless. Some parts of the game definitely could've been written better (especially the first few hours), and I think the structure/pacing of the game could've been improved. However, overall, the story was still very engaging to me, and although it wasn't as good as the story in TLOU1, I really enjoyed it. A big change in the middle of the game caused a lot of outrage in some people, but this change worked for me, as it was crucial for the story to be told. I'd really recommend this game, and it's a shame to see it being review-bombed by people who have only read the leaks or watched out-of-context gameplay online without experiencing the game for themselves!

Gates to Infinity is a good game, albeit it is nowhere near the best in the series. The plot is a highlight in this game, alongside improved gameplay/balancing from the previous games, and a fantastic soundtrack. However, the lack of content in the game - including Pokemon to recruit and story-length - really drag this title down from being great. I'd recommend playing this game, but only after you've played the other titles in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series!

The gameplay - especially the combat - in this game is fantastic, and never gets old. The graphics are beautiful and the open-world is very diverse and exciting. Aloy is such an intriguing character and really carries the game in some of the sections - I genuinely think she's one of the best PS protagonists out there. The real highlight of this game is the plot and world-building - gradually discovering the lore of the world the game is set in is unbelievably engaging. My main criticisms relate to the dialogue and interaction with NPC's - they feel quite boring and basic at times, but everything else in the game is fantastic, so it still gets a 9/10 for me. I cannot wait for the sequel!

P5 is the most stylish and visually-pleasing game I've ever experienced - the amount of thought and effort that must've gone into every single screen/animation is insane. The characters, story and gameplay are all fantastic too - I don't think I've ever played a 100+ hour long game before that I never got bored with and never felt was dragging on at any point, but P5 changed that. I played Undertale for the first time on its release date back in 2015. It was the first game I ever played through the whole night, without sleeping until I completed my first playthrough. Even after waking up the next day, there were so many other things to explore in the game, including the different endings, and I couldn't wait to jump back into it. The game is filled with so much charm & character and takes such a unique approach to the RPG format, which made me fall in love with it. I don't think I've found a single game which has made me feel how Undertale made me feel when I finished playing through it; it really is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

User ScoreDracoshi

For the first 80 hours or so, this is the best Animal Crossing there's ever been. It feels like there's so much to do, and new features like moving buildings, placing furniture outside, increased creativity tools, etc. make the game so enjoyable to play. However, the longer you play, the more you realize that - in comparison to Animal Crossing games in the past - there's really not much to do/not much content in the game. For any other game, being enjoyable for 80 hours would be amazing, but Animal Crossing has always been designed to be a game which can be enjoyed essentially for as many years as you want. But there's just not enough to do in New Horizons - a ridiculous amount has been cut from previous games, with not enough new things added to make up for it. I imagine Nintendo's plan is to add these things back as free content updates, which is understandable from their perspective as it will keep people playing the game, but there's just not enough content in the base game to keep the game feeling fun and not like a chore to play everyday. Additionally, the villagers have been watered down so much that dialogue is repeated almost constantly, and the characters barely have any personality anymore. However, the game still gets a 8/10 from me, because for the first 80 hours or so it's the most fun I've had with a game in such a long time!

This game is lots of fun for the first few hours when playing with friends, but quite quickly you realize there's not enough content in the game to last more than a few sessions. This game is still the right direction for the Mario Party series to go, I just hope the next one is a further improvement (and that the next one actually gets post-launch content! Seriously, almost every other Mario game has received it, so why not this game? It could've been the best Mario Party of them all if it just received support through added characters, minigames and boards!) Regardless of my criticisms, it is still a fun game to play with friends and family.

These games weren't a step in the right direction for Pokemon, as it fell onto remaking a region that has been remade countless times, and cut a lot of features and Pokemon. However, this game wasn't trying to be a game for long-term hardcore fans - it was made as a stepping stone for newer Pokemon Go players to start playing the mainline games. The game was a very relaxing game to play, albeit a little bit too easy for my liking. Regardless of the issues previously stated, it was still an enjoyable game that I do not regret buying. If Let's Go games don't detriment production of main series games, then I would be happy to see this series continue. Additionally, it introduced wild Pokemon in the overworld, and brought back following Pokemon for the first time since HGSS, which are two of my favourite features in the whole series.

I don't like writing this review, because Pokemon has been my favourite series my whole life, but this game is such a let-down. It has performance issues, the graphics aren't nice at all in most areas, the story is practically non-existent, the characters are mostly forgettable, the whole region is just a linear straight path, there's no post-game content, the game is too easy, over half of the features were cut from previous games, and the DLC is a rip-off. I really think we'll never get games like the ones we had from Gen 3 - Gen 5 ever again. The only reason it gets 4/10 is because most of the Pokemon designs are great, and I can imagine it might be fun for children or people playing Pokemon for the first time ever. The game was clearly very rushed - I just hope they don't mess up the Sinnoh remakes if they ever happen.

This game encompasses everything that makes Smash so great - unique stages, a huge amount of characters, amazing music, fun game-play and single-player content, etc. While previous instalments may have contained some features which are better than Smash Ultimate's features - e.g. the campaign/Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Smash Ultimate contains many other modes and enough characters to make up for it. The main drawbacks with the game - for me - are the online features, and a lack of the previously stated single-player campaign (like Subspace Emissary). Smash Ultimate's mode 'World of Light' is as close to this as the game gets, although personally I did not enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Subspace Emissary. also... KING K ROOL MADE IT TO SMASH!

I will NEVER understand the poor reviews this masterpiece **** received at its launch. It has been almost a decade since it released, and it is still my favourite game of all time. I can replay it endlessly, and always get the same huge amount of enjoyment from it every time. Story: This is where the game truly shines. The plot/story is honestly incredible. I can't even put into words how the story of this game made me feel. There's so many big moments and plot twists and the build-up to the ending (and the ending itself) are absolute roller-coasters. This game stands out to me as one of the best stories I've ever seen in my life. Music: The music/soundtrack is also fantastic; I find myself listening to it frequently even after all these years. Sometimes during the game I'll stop progressing because I want to sit and listen to the music, which shows how amazing it is. Gameplay: Although the gameplay is unusual and takes a small amount of time to get used to, it becomes very enjoyable and offers a very unique RPG experience. Characters: I never thought a Pokemon game would create some of the most interesting, diverse, unique characters I've ever seen. The character development for both main and side characters is incredible. This is another area where the game is just perfect. Content: The amount of content in this game is huge. The main story takes me - on average - around 25 - 30 hours, although this could be much higher if you enjoy exploring everything the game has to offer. There's also a very long post-game, which could easily boost your playtime to over 100 hours. I've played through the game at least ten times, and yet I still find things I haven't done before in every playthrough. Art-style: The graphics/art-style, although pixelated, is beautiful. The sprites of the characters and the backgrounds and the pixel arts are just so full of character, and suit the style of the game perfectly. I really wish the newer Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games kept this art-style. Overall, I cannot emphasise enough how incredible this game is. It is so so so underrated and honestly a gem. Almost everything in the game is perfect. This game - for me - ranks far above the main-series Pokemon games, and ranks far above the other spin-off games. This truly is the pinnacle of Pokemon.
