It’s a Bethesda game with all the negatives and positives that implies although surprisingly short on bugs of the coding kind. There is a lot to like here, especially in the crafted cities and even though planets and areas outside of missions will become repetitive its no more than any other game where you head out to collect resources including NMS. Space flight is not really there, you get involved In the odd dogfight but it’s basically just fast travel from one place to another. Combat is spongy but I’m having fun with it. I’ve modded it a bit to increases scanner efficiency and increased my carry weight as if it lets me carry half a dozen spacesuits and half a dozen guns it’s already being ridiculous so I’m making sure I can stock up on resources before I start using up all my oxygen from effort. Kudos for allowing mods.

There are no tutorials, no practice range, no replays, no female players despite presence of she/her pronouns, the mouse cursor will randomly appear on the screen taking focus from the controller, keys cannot be reconfigured and neither can the controller beyond choosing left/right stick for shots with PS prompts being shown when using Xbox controller. Terrible 4K performance, sluggish UI and poor design decisions like having to exit career mode to upgrade or change anything. It plays better at 1440p but be prepared for micro stutters that ruin your swing.. It’s just another cack handed port .Not worth £60 in this state, I suggest you stick with the imperfect 2K games.

Like nearly everyone else I don’t read the EULA and was shocked to learn how Blizzard are grasping at user mods to make more money by simply demanding ownership of mods and no recompense for the modders. The update is sad anyway, it’s like Blizzard were just treating this like a mobile game with minimal graphical upgrades except they forgot to reconfigure the UI. Thank you for the years I spent in Warcraft when I was happy to give you my money. Now, well, I guess the customer no longer matters so bye bye. There were good tones but now it’s just sad.

This is an expensive qwop game. Kojima has done a fair job of recreating the Lake District environment (minus the lakes) but is severely lacking gameplay. I can look at this and ascribe all sort of artsy fartsy shenanigans to this but it’s just a waste of money.

For all the micro transactions this game is missing some important ones. The ones that enable a challenging enemy, the one that puts some life into the world and the one that doesn’t have the game chest on you (spotted by a drone, watch a platoon of enemies magically appear from behind a tree you walked around just moments before). Mind you it’s easy to cheat yourself, make a noise in a building doorway and everybody rushes to you for easy kills. The faces of the characters are as bland as the plot. There are vehicles every hundred yards or so in case you get tired and ofc the whole game is online only even when your playing single player. There is one achievement though that Ubisoft are now up there with EA in pure avarice and disdain for the gamer. I was so excited for the next Watch Dogs, now I’m already raising a glass to its memory given what Ubisoft are charging us for here/

This is great fun. Very much influenced by old school privateer and freelancer (although more the former to my mind). This is arcadey space fun with a number of assists you can turn on/off depending on what your looking for. Elite Dangerous this is not. Music is awesome and if you don’t like it (I hate country but this country rock is perfect for the game) then you can play your own music in gam This is a controller game, it’s advertised as such and is the recommended control option. However it does support kb/m and HOTAS and control issues with those and minor bugs being squashed all the time by the devs The settings menus have a sort of faded scratched out look for the text that can be hard on the eyes and there is no option to change the look if your visually impaired. There is no tutorial and you can be quickly out of your depth if you get into a fight while acclimatising to the controls and have auto tracking turned off but there are on screen prompts and customisable controls so it doesn’t take too long to get everything covered.

The game looked exciting in the demos and previews but when you actually lay hands on it it’s all, well, a bit meh. It’s the motor `racing’ equivalent of a hamster roll ball that’s been fitted with go faster stripes and neon lights as there’s no finish line per se and the limited loop like nature of the game quickly becomes apparent. OnRush is solely about holding down the go fast button and crashing into your opponents in order to well, keep the cage turning, It is not long before” like the aforesaid hamster, fatigue and ennui set in from the lack of any any real engagement once you you stop admiring the the flashy presentation . Unlike the hamster, I had the ability to walk away from this and took it, grateful that I had borrowed a friends copy to try this out so no buyers remorse for me although I did buy my mate a couple of beers to compensate him for the money he wasted buying this.

I can understand the criticism of the repetition and the constant collects thin but I have to say I am having a blast in single player. The world is a joy to look at and travel through (although vehicle handling is atrocious) although the game does not seem to be fantastically optimised with my GTX980 TI SLI getting around 50fps at 1440p with most options maxed but the Nvidia turf effect turned off. The AI is a bit odd with them being pretty poor at shooting in a fire fight but superhuman at downing targets with SyncShot. I find I can stealth an attack but it usually falls apart when I get jumped by someone and it becomes a fire fight. There are insta fail missions but have yet to come across one that was frustrating to complete. For me the let down is in the constant respawning a la Far a cry 2, not generally too much of an issue when your moving from province to province but when you destroy all the SAM sites and have them respawning making helicopter travel in an area frustrating I do get a bit angry Joe. If you have a tolerance for repetition then go for it, I feel I will fizzle out before the end but 29hrs in I'm still having a blast.

This is just so wonderfully entertaining if you like arcade style racers. There are performance worries and as this comes through the windows store it is lacking SLI and proper full screen support, adding to performance issues and costing it a couple of points. If you can get this running at a solid 60fps then enjoy the racing in an open world with multiplayer options that may attract even dedicated single player enthusiasts. If you want a driving sim then go elsewhere otherwise just make sure the poor PC optomisation will work on your rig.

From the hype I really didn't expect this to be a survival slog, exploration is very much secondary to managing a tiny inventory. I play Elite Dangerous on my PC so I don't mind the general pointlessness of the exploration for its own sake, I enjoy it. But having to spend more time balancing resources that are used up at an alarming rate just **** that enjoyment out of it. The gathering element is particularly frustrating when you get involved in an entertaining dog fight and have to run away because you used up all your ammunition and need to go wander around looking for isotopes elements. Yeah, that sounds kinda simmy and so you can say it makes sense but it replaces fun with chores too much of the time, maybe more inventory slots will alleviate it but I get the feeling the resources are meant to hamstring you and won't be surprised if bigger ships with bigger inventory space will just need more of the resources to operate so your not better off. Meeting aliens and learning a language is 'neat' and is a form of resource gathering that I do find enjoyable. In the end this isn't really a game about exploring but about gathering resources and in that respect I get way more fun out of subnautica but if titles like 'Don't Starve' rock your boat then maybe you will probably get more than I did from this.

I expected too much so I guess it's my fault I feel let down. I love the handling of the ships and it looks fantastic but there is this confused keep it real vibe that stops it being fun which for me can be summed up in three elements 1. The way it is set up for griefers in multiplayer and the reverse of the old school MMO trope where in this game the last touch, no matter how slight, wins you all the bounty. So you play in Solo mode but are affected by the multiplayer happenings and everything is second hand because the multiplayers got there first. 2. Because it's 'real' if you go too far there are no stations to land on so no jobs to do and every chance you will fall victim to problem number three 3. If you lose your ship then you lose a lot of your time investment due to the flaky insurance system they have set up which is like the worst car or home insurance you could ever buy and where assets on other stations cannot be used to offset losses. In essence it seems to me they have forgotten this is a game, it's very punishing if you die and offers none of the save options a single player game might so it **** fun from exploring where a mistake or bug can result in you losing all your personal progress. It's like it wants to be Eve but without the gameplay of that model. I was hoping for exciting surprises to be hidden randomly amongs the stars but nothing there, this is truly an empty Galaxy. Don't look for Sci-Fi fun and gaming here, this is pretty turgid (pun intended).

Although I disliked the linearity of FF XIII I still enjoyed it and the battle system, more so with XIi-2 where more path option were available. This, 'game' however, gives you back some real freedom then snatches it away instantly with constantly being reminded of time limits, quests that are the basest of RPG fetch quests, no incentive to enter combat as you do not get exp from it and with a gameplay that discourages you to waste time looking for fights by the quest structure. If you ignore everything the game wants you to do there are a few hours of gameplay here but only if bought from the remaindered bin.

I've always been a bit ambivalent about the Assassins Creed series, the PC ports have been pretty bad and I always thought it over ambitious on the PS3 (and I **** at climbing walls). This time the game is rendered as smooth as can be and running through Havana a joy (although I still **** at climbing). I'm not a fan of the race to collect the shanties (see **** above) and those missions where you need to tail someone can get tedious but other than that I'm having a blast with the combat and exploration both on land and sea.
