Fun and engaging gameplay accompanied by an intriguing story and cute cat. What’s not to love. The world building and memorable characters are what I felt set this game apart. Everything felt perfectly crafted, aiming high without over-reaching. While the game can be beaten in under 2 hours (for the reward of a trophy), I loved my 9 hour first play through, taking time to learn and do everything the world has to offer.

The gripping narrative, satisfying combat and new look at Norse Mythology make this game one that should not be missed by any PS4 owner.

The size of the explorable world is overwhelming, the combat isn’t quite as satisfying as you would want it to be and the story went on just a little too long... but despite all that Odyssey was an adventure I couldn’t stop coming back to. The world of Ancient Greece is so well put together that when you stopped running from point A to point B and took time to absorb all of the finer details you realise just how immersive this game could be. Kassandra is a real badass, and spending the 100+ hours diving into shipwrecks, fighting epic battles, assassinating cult leaders and accidentally leaping off of tall cliffs on my trusty steed (sorry Phobos) was a memorable experience that surpassed nearly all of the other AC games to date (ACII still holds out as a favourite). If you love Greek mythology, sprawling open world adventures with hundreds of quests available, weapons and armour to collect and horses which come back from the dead after a long fall then I would definitely recommend Odyssey.

If your idea of fun consists of chewing a handful of stones while watching your mum pole-dance then this game is most certainly for you. If what you look for in a game is hours of physical map reading and fixing cars while being shot at by your co-workers then by all means play this game. For me every minute of my 40 hours of Far Cry 2 felt like a chore. Let me just say, however, that I played Far Cry 3 and 4 before I played this one and thoroughly enjoyed them, I even played on hard difficulty for a bit of a challenge. Far Cry 2 I played on easy and found it significantly harder than the others. The script is rushed, the enemies are constantly chasing you down, and you can't outrun them. Stealth very rarely works, unless you only play at night and the enemies are spread out. The amount of times I spent stuck against a knee high rock or trapped between a rock and a tree branch desperately trying to jump or duck my way out ruined the game for me. After finally making it to the last chapter of the game and into the heart of darkness I encountered a glitch which stopped the mission activating and no matter what I did it would not activate. I had to reload a save losing 4 hours of play. Positives are impressive graphics for the time of release and an interesting "villain", even if the script is a little rushed. Overall I would not recommend this game to anyone, unless I hated them. Once I am done burning my copy and participating in some deep breathing exercises I may return to the Far Cry series for Far Cry Primal, but I'm just too emotional for that right now.

A truly horrifying experience. Played alone, in the dark with a head set on, this game can bring about some extremely intense heart pounding moments. Layers of Fear doesn't just rely on jump scares, but manages to borough deep into your mind as you find out the tragedy that has befallen our protagonist and how he has reacted to it. As he desperately tries create his 'Magnum Opus', his sanity tearing away from him at every seam, you will find yourself drawn into his dark and twisted mind, wishing that he, and yourself, find a way back to normality. While the game-play is never much more than walking around a large, ever changing house, opening door after door, this game is more about the narrative and the evolutionary nature of creating of artistic work. Plus it's always fund to be terrified to your very core... Right?

Fallout 4 is a good game, a little disappointing because of just how much hype there was about it, but it is still a good game. Putting aside expectations and going into it with an open mind has been the best thing for this game. When it comes to making a large, open world sand box Bethesda knows how to keep realism in tact. So the facial animations are off, and a little creepy, the environment is beautifully animated and the side quests and small towns and locations littered across the map make Fallout 4 fun for just exploring it. Throw a couple patches at it and give it a stimpak and maybe it would be a whole lot more pleasing for a lot of fans out there.

A great way to tide you over until the real fun begins (uncharted 4). Having played Uncharted 1 - 3 more than 5 times each on PS3 I can honestly say I feel no remorse in going back to these classic PS3 games remastered for the PS4. While the graphics don't immediately strike you as being next-gen (which obviously they aren't, being as they are PS3 classics), they're still beautiful looking, fun games to play. A few extras included in the bundle makes it all worth the price tag. A 10 out of 10 for allowing quality and quantity to be included together on one disc, well done Bluepoint Games (and Naughty Dog).

Square Enix creates a fine 4th instalment. Building upon the last few episodes Max's choices seem more impactful and finally we see the series start to take advantage of the plot it laid out in the beginning, a life changing dramatic event that could devastate an entire community (not just emotionally but physically as well). While the voice acting isn't quite up to the standard the narrative provokes, it can be overlooked. Life is Strange is something I didn't expect to love, but do non the less. "Alright Max!"

Why? Why did you do this to me? I played the Order wanting to love it and at first I did. It was graphically perfect. It showed me that it had narrative potential and that its world had been thoroughly thought out by the developers. I could just imagine all possibilities the game had in store. But in the end it never really felt like the game started. I kept waiting for that moment where I felt like I had control. Like it was my story that was being told and I could experience it in full. The Order felt like it was on the brink of brilliance at all times but never quite got there. The characters couldn't develop properly, because the pace kept moving before you could fully understand what drove them forward. While the twist and the original plot should be incredibly powerful, by the time you reach it your interest has already dwindled. I don't think it deserves to be hated, but there is a serious case of antisipointment.

A dark, mysterious and somewhat terrifying game. As you walk slowly through this silhouetted forrest, you need to overcome traps and obstacles that are similar to that of a child's' nightmare. Thats exactly what this is. It brings forward all the primal fears you felt as a child. Stranded in an unknown world and left to fend for yourself against unknown challenges, It plays out as a simple platform game, and as you progress you try outwit spiders, traps and other silent beings you encounter gruesome deaths and frustrating puzzles. It's good, even if the gameplay doesn't make any substantial developments it still emerges you in its' world. You're trapped in your nightmare, and it's rather exhilarating.

I had forgotten just how much this game meant to me. Journey isn't a game you play to feel exhilarated, it has heart-thumping moments sure, but that's not what its all about. Journey defines life. In the beginning there is unsure exploration of a strange world. Then you begin to learn and master your skills, experiencing jaw droppingly gorgeous moments, the world and narrative beautifully flowing together as you endure it alone or with a companion. As a mysterious history and a dedication to your future drive you forward you must overcome darkness and master the light to progress into true salvation. Does that sound too religious, probably. But Journey doesn't have to be about that, it's about you. Enjoy the music and marvel at the relaxing gameplay. It will be worth your time.

This game had so much promise when it was first announced. The concept seemed original and the gameplay looked intriguingly beautiful. Did it deliver? Not entirely. Is it beautiful? Absolutely. The score complements the simplicity of its gameplay perfectly and without a doubt it brings in your attention to the narrative. What are we looking at and why is it happening becomes the sole purpose of your exploration. There are frustrating moments when searching becomes tedious, but these moments also bring about breathtaking moments that define the game. I don't love it, but I'm glad I played it.
