Ocean's 89

This latest installment in the franchise really adds a new flavor of fun. I'm a fan of heist movies, and this is now one of my favorites. Great performances, some fun plot twists, and a lot of the playing-on-a-trope moments that make the Oceans movies fun. I want to see these ladies again, maybe mixed with some of the other stars from previous films. tl;dr Fun thriller, excellent heist film, sexy actors at their prime, everything I want in an Oceans movie.

The Great American Scandal presented as an autopsy. No a rehash of a People Magazine story, but something altogether more and better. The funniest, sad-movie you'll see all year. Meta in all the right places. The fourth wall is kicked through with a bladed boot. Two astounding performances by Allison Janney and Margot Robbie. A tour de force from the trailer park, while wearing a rabbit fur jacket. Damn, this was a good film.

I went with a big group, and everyone really enjoyed this film. Lots of laugh out loud moments! Yes, it does sound derivative from the trailer, but it was unique. Stellar cast really pulls it together. Funniest comedy I've seen in a while in the theater. Perfect date night movie or girls night out.

Kick-Ass 28

Fun popcorn film. Not necessarily as good as the first Kick Ass, but that was a hella-good movie and hard to equal. Well worth the ticket price and a good time. Wish they would have shown that photo of Nick Cage a few more times.

This Is the End10

Went to see this with a mixed crowd of folks, age-wise, and all of us agreed it's one of the funniest comedies in a long while. It's a fun ride, and I want to take it again! The movie works on a bunch of levels: comedy, horror, thriller, spiritual (really) and bromance. Big smile on my face. It's not just a stoner flick. Also, a call out to the writing. Tight script.

Not since the Harry Potter franchise has a book been brought to life as a movie as well as this. Just as I imagined. I can't wait for the rest of the franchise to come to the big screen!

It's not quite "Wet, Hot, American Summer" and it's not quite "Bridesmaids," but it is hella funny. Best prosthetic **** since Dirk Diggler. Not as quotable as some of the recent big-hit comedies, but just as funny. My entire commune loved it.

This RomCom will appeal to both genders. Jennifer Westfeldt brings a fresh, voice to the genre; you forget that relationships are at the core of the film, because it's so funny. Just like "Kissing Jessica Stein," this film is unexpectedly entertaining. I'd recommend it to just about anyone.

Went with a mixed crowd of men and women. All ten of us LOVED the film. Laugh-out-loud funny throughout the movie: perfect mix of smart and dumb comedy. We found ourselves trying to one-up the table with quotes from the movie at dinner, afterward -- usually a good sign. Amazing comedic cast is worth the price of admission. Tim Heidecker has no lines, but he's just funny standing in the background. Melissa McCarthy will make you shoot soda out of your nose. Guaranteed. Overall, a really good time.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules10
Mar 25, 2011
Even funnier than the first Wimpy Kid. The filmmakers have brought Jeff Kinney's amazing books to the big screen, and it works. I went with an 8-year-old, a 22-year-old, and a forty-something; everyone of us belly laughed. It's a rare comedy that can be funny to everyone. Also, want to add this movie trusts kids to be kids. It's not like those horrible Disney sitcoms with their fake, miniature adults. These are kids being kidsy, and it is awesome.
