One of the greatest stories I've ever experienced in a game. Unraveling the mystery of this solar system is the focus of this game and it's immensely satisfying. Can't give anything away because this is a game you can only experience once. The only thing keeping you from beating the game right from the start is your lack of information. That's it. You have all the tools at your disposal from the beginning. Piecing together the mystery is all you have to do and it's fascinating. The music is cozy and the lack of music at times is perfect. The gameplay is simple, but it feels good to jetpack around the planets. I wish I could wipe my memory of this game and experience it all over again. And that's my only complaint. I want to be able to experience the story all over again, but you can't. It's pretty much one and done. That being said, it's incredible. Life changing.

Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster8
May 25, 2026
Final Fantasy VI is good old fashioned Final Fantasy fun. Great gameplay, good story, good characters and a memorable soundtrack. Grinding is a part of the classic FF experience and this game makes grinding enjoyable because you consistently see progress. You're always gaining something whether it be new spells, new abilities, increased stats or just plain levels. It feels good. The story is pretty good as far as classic FF goes. I wouldn't put it on the same level as FFVII or X but I was invested in the world and the characters. FFVI isn't without faults for sure. Missables are just a matter of old game design, but it's still not fun to miss out on characters, summons, weapons or whatever. I think I missed just about everything you could possibly miss, but I didn't want to turn the game into a chore by hugging a missables walkthrough throughout the entire game. I also didn't like the sheer number of party members there were. Too many to keep up on and learn as well as having several blue mage characters which are usually always a chore to get their abilities for. And lastly having to get 3 teams battle ready for the final confrontation was not great. That being said the final dungeon was fun as far as the puzzles and it wouldn't be as fun if you didn't have 3 parties to swap between. All in all, this is a great FF game and I can see why many regard it as the best FF.

Elden Ring7
May 18, 2026
I have a love hate relationship with Elden Ring. It has some of the coolest weapons/builds in all Fromsoft history and NG+7 is actually doable and fun to play through, but that's where the positives end. Open world games are overwhelming nowadays for someone who likes to complete games. Waaaay too many copy pasted dungeons with copy pasted bosses. There's too many crannies to search and vast open areas with nothing of note. When you do find an item hidden out in the open world, 9 times out of 10 it's a leaf or a mushroom. You are not rewarded nearly enough for going down optional paths and that's a problem for a game as big as Elden Ring. The bosses are more aggressive than ever before and there needs to be a line. Bosses have these seemingly endless combos with lots of forward momentum. You'll get a VERY small window of opportunity to hit the boss like once or twice, then it's back to these ridiculously long combos. You barely get to attack, it's just roll city and if you get caught, a third or more of your HP is gone. And my last complaint is that this game is waaaaay too long for a souls game. Part of the fun of these games is that the run time is long enough to be significant but short enough to where you want to go through it again with a new weapon/build. In Elden Ring I was exhausted by the time the credits rolled and I didn't want to try out any cool new builds. Such a shame.

Bloodborne10
May 14, 2026
Bloodborne is my favorite souls game and one of my top 3 favorite games ever made. I've played through this about 10 or so times and I won't be stopping. This has everything I love about Dark souls which in a nutshell is that these games have a substantial enough of a run time to feel like a full experience while also being short and sweet enough to make you want to play through it again with a new weapon. Which is the other reason I love souls games, vast replayability with the various play styles/weapons. While it is faster paced and "harder" than the other souls games, Bloodborne balances out the difficulty with mechanics like the repost, rally, and the quick step all of which reward a more aggressive play style. The whole console exclusivity and 30fps deal was never an issue for me personally, but I do understand the very valid criticism of those things.

Final Fantasy XVI4
May 9, 2026
Final Fantasy has become unrecognizable from what it used to be which was the gold standard of video games. The opening is strong and made me think Final Fantasy is back, but it quickly devolves. The combat is a boring and heavily watered down version of Devil May Cry. Press a single button to use your strongest moves when they come off cool down, parry or use regular attacks, repeat. There is no depth to the combat whatsoever. The Eikon fights are a spectacle, sure, but they also lack any depth. You will never lose a fight in this game unless you try really hard. The writing of this game is bad, period. The big story moments fall flat, the teenager levels of swearing is unnecessary and there are only 2 characters that are likeable. I can't remember a single song from this soundtrack which isn't the Final Fantasy I remember. Final Fantasy has fallen pretty far and I don't think it can get back up.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age1
May 9, 2026
One of the top 3 worst FF games ever made if not number 1. The story is bland, the voice acting is bland, the combat is non existent, the music is forgettable, is this even FF? Thank God for x4 speed otherwise I wouldn't have made it through. The gambit system is a problem. A mechanic that takes all the gameplay away from you? I beat every boss without pressing a single button which is absolutely bonkers for a single player JRPG. And if you say, "Just don't use gambits." that's like saying don't use any of the unique gameplay mechanics of any FF game. It's a core mechanic and I used it as intended. I did have a little bit of fun setting up the gambits and testing them when I got more tactics options, but once you get your white mage's gambits locked in, the game plays itself. Just have your white mage heal and cure status effects and you'll never lose. If the characters and story were interesting it would soften the blow from the boring gameplay. Vaan is useless, why is he the main character? He does nothing to drive the plot forward. People like to dunk on Tidus from FFX but at least he drives the plot forward. At least the story evolves and unfolds as he does. The story almost gets interesting right at the final confrontation, but it ends abruptly. Such an incredibly boring game on all fronts.

Devil May Cry 55
May 5, 2026
It's not as bad as Devil May Cry 2, but definitely not as good as any of the other entries in this series. It took a massive leap in graphical fidelity yes, but the new character models for the devil hunters are so much uglier. The new model for Nero is especially apauling compared to DMC4. Major turn off. The story started off strong, but one of the major twists was poorly executed. While I don't play DMC games for the story, its big moments fell flat and left a lot to be desired. As for the gameplay, Nero's new gimmick isn't nearly as cool or satisfying as his devil bringer in DMC4. While his play style is more complex, more doesn't mean better. The grabs in DMC4 were very satisfying to pull off. Simple, effective, impactful and stylish as hell. And V? V was a chore to play as. I hated every mission I had to play as him. Enough said. This character was annoying, cringy, and a slog to play as. Dante however is the most fun to play which is really sad because he has the exact same moveset that he had in DMC3 and 4, save the new weapons which I didn't find fun other than 1 other sword. Overall this was a pretty big disappointment. I refunded it immediately after beating it. I'd give it a 5.5, it's above average but not by much.

Devil May Cry HD Collection8
May 3, 2026
Here we are in 2026 and this game still shows you why this series took off. Devil May Cry 1 and 3 are pure entertainment. It's fun to play, plain and simple. It doesn't waste your time. It's fun mechanically, great music, interesting story and characters, what more could you want out of an action game. DMC 3 definitely improved on what DMC 1 started. The style system makes these games stand out. You're rewarded for stringing together complex combos instead of spamming the same button over and over which makes this game a blast when it comes to gameplay mechanics. The platforming is annoying since your depth perception is lacking and your jump is awkward to say the least. There is 1 boss in particular in DMC 3 that's a chore to fight and the camera in both games has definitely shown it's age but it's still worth giving a shot in the modern era. Oh, and we don't talk about DMC 2 XD!

Unicorn Overlord6
May 3, 2026
This game was a blast up until the 30-40 hour mark. After that it overstayed its welcome. I found myself skipping all battles and cut scenes once I reached the beast kingdom, I didn't use a lot of the new unit types you get after the Elf kingdom, and too many unit types to learn made it overwhelming. The story is a complete snooze fest for a game that's VERY dialogue heavy. All the interesting plot points don't pop up until the final battle and then it's over. That being said, the first half of this game was very fun. Watching the number of units and unit sizes grow gradually and adapting new tactics as you progress was awesome, but after a certain point once you've unlocked the max potential for your units I just used the same tactics, same units same strategy that got me through to that point. There was no need to adapt to new challenges after that 30-40 hour mark so the game became stale. Cut the run time of this game in half, cut some of the redundant unit types and spread those juicy plot points throughout the game more and it would be a solid 8.5 out of 10. I'd give it a 6.5 if I could, but I don't think this deserves a 7.

Resident Evil Requiem9
Mar 3, 2026
The scariest resident evil to date. As you would expect from a resident evil game, RE9 is a master class when it comes to gameplay. Capcom absolutely NAILED the horror element with this one. The monsters are terrifying and the fact that Grace isn't a veteran zombie killer adds a much needed layer to the fear factor/dread that you you can't get with Leon, Chris or Jill. My only critique is I wanted the Grace sections of the game to cover a higher percentage of the play time. I realize this is a subjective take, but the Grace sections were phenomenal. That being said, Leon is still fun to play as well and he's cooler than ever. The story is interesting enough, but the real highlight of the story is the emotion this story will get out of you. More than any resident evil story in my opinion. I don't play resident evil games for the story, but this one caught be by surprise. RE9 is a must play for resident evil and horror fans alike.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth0
Nov 26, 2025
Saying this game was a disappointment would be a major understatement. Everything that made the original Final Fantasy VII a timeless classic is either not present or was butchered to oblivion. Every new story rewrite is an abomination compared to the original. And on top of that it's padded out to heck and back. You have to play through 50 to 60 hours of nonsensical BS and disappointing rewrites before you find the ultimate disappointment that they save for the very end. And by that point you can't get a refund for this garbage. This is a disgrace and should never have been called a remake. If they would've made it clear that this trilogy was a multiverse/multiworld/parallel dimension sequel, I wouldn't be so upset. It was the dishonesty of calling it a remake, pulling the rug out from under you and revealing that it's a multiverse sequel that made me resent this trilogy and this company.

I don't want to go too in depth here because you need to experience this game yourself. This game has everything modern Final Fantasy has been lacking for the last 20+ years. Fans of the genre, rejoice. This is genuinely the greatest Final Fantasy inspired game I've played ever since Final Fantasy X released over 20 years ago. The gameplay, story, characters, music, art style, everything is the gold standard and it's no wonder why it swept all the major game award ceremonies. It's a masterful piece of art. You MUST play this game.
