What's refreshing about the new season is that it's not necessarily about the objects, which are, after all, a series of MacGuffins. More than ever, what grounds the whole enterprise are the bonds among the characters and the dangers that they face together, armed only with retro-looking pistols and the requisite quips.

To be as much fun as it strives to be, Warehouse 13 can't be just a cop show with a gimmick. It needs to make the gimmick interesting and fun. Season one was promising and season two seems to be staying on track.

Pete and Myka remains cutesy, Artie and his boss, CCH Pounder's Mrs. Frederic, are gratifyingly intense. I also like the intelligent sullenness of Artie's assistant, Claudia (Allison Scagliotti).

I liked the 1st season more. Probably because it was a new premise and interesting characters and pretty good episodes with storyline threads from one episode to the next. But the two agents are no Mulder and Scully. There is no chemistry and if you are going to put a man and woman together there has to be "something" even if it is just a good working relationship. These two actors just don't work well off one another.
