I started watching the series last week and have seen all of series 1 and I am halfway through series 2 and I have to say my feelings are quite negative regarding the BBC approach to parts of the series. The acting is a little unbelievable because I am ex-forces and know how it works. In series 1, we have DCI Silva wandering around a nuclear submarine without any visible security, especially around the arms and nuclear reactor and missile silos. This just would never happen. It also came to the point where she made suggestions about what may havehappened, which then became what actually happened. Rather unbelievable. Then we have the sexualisation of the series. The DCI has a daughter, but begins a relationship with another woman, a colleague. It was quite graphic in the portrayal of the relationship and the daughter found it quite acceptable. The same happened in series 2, where 2 men are having a relaionship and scenes of same sex kissing in both series, really is unnecessary in my view. I have worked in education and one thing I was told to be very aware of, was the deliberate sexualisation of children and this is exactly what the BBC did. Given the current vile disclosures about Jeffrey Epstein and the endless BBC news reports about how improper his conduct was, why are they doing exaclty the same?Why?
