Maybe Silo knows it needs to lighten up, so season three introduces a new timeline, centuries ago in Before Times that look a lot like the early-to-mid 21st century.

This was a movie spin-off full of potential but TV this bland should be illegal.

By The Bear’s standards the air-punch moments veer into indulgence, but we've been through so much together that we've earned episode seven, the most tearful, joyful, human hour of television you'll see anywhere this year. It also contains three or four of The Bear's best ever gags and by far its most hilarious ever one-off character.

This show has found its focus. The start of season three is a fine epic, balancing big battles with sharp two-hander scenes where dominance shifts and fatal personality flaws are forced out. Add the odd new face and a blast of comic relief here and there and you have proper Thrones.

I Will Find You ends, in the best traditions of the throwaway thriller, with a last twist that doesn’t make sense when you stop and think about it - if you want to stop and think, Harlan Coben is not your guy. On home turf, however, he knows what he’s doing.

Every moment of Sugar is divine to look at, while the concept of the protagonist’s main superpowers being weary kindness and naive sweetness, despite his alien biology affording him actual superpowers, continues to bewilder and amuse
