"Based on a true story" — and turned into a bad story. Great cast, solidly shot, but the script is a cacophony of cliches, plotholes and tired Netflix tropes.

Enjoyed it. I bet people didn’t like because they didn’t like the unsolved ending. I appreciate it. I like endings that aren’t your typical ending.

Awesome series I don't understand the negative reviews. It's the best psyco Thriller I've ever watched!

Too many episodes. A bit repetitive as well. Should have just made this a movie?

Dialogue was cringy and unpolished, acting wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. Twist wasn’t really a twist and the misdirection is unrealistic and all over the place.

The Watcher provides the viewer with a spine chilling story with great performances and thrilling sequences that makes you want to keep watching to find out the mystery in the end. Unfortunately there's too many convenient coincidences and times when you're confused as to why the main characters aren't looking into a certain lead or not asking the obvious questions when they arise. If the writers ironed out some of those rough spots in the story I believe this would have been one of my favorite mini series that would have been on the same level with Harlan Coben's mystery thrillers.

They completely transformed what was a true story on an infinite search for a misterious men that writes crappy letters which are barely scary. I mean just don't read them? assuming it's probably a joke after a while especially when there are no sign of real danger?
The beginning was kinda promising with all the weird neighbours, which cant help being annoying for apparently (and by the end truly) no reason.
You will finish it only to get to an upsetting ending.

We all know that Ryan Murphy is a creative genious. But he may be doing way too much multitasking at the moment. Poorly written, badly acting, anti climatic ending.

Loved this series, drug me into an adventure and made me believe that I was trying to solve the case with them. But the ending was terrible its the only reason its not getting a higher review. Very good acting and lots of plot twists.

A disappointing waste of talent! Neighbors don't like the new people that moved into a house. Some anonymous weird letters show up in the mailbox that the family takes way too seriously. Supposedly based on a true story, but the writers spin up a ridiculous yarn of oddballs, cults, and everything short of UFOs as possible explanations. Really dumb, and just a waste of time. I feel especially sorry for Bobby Cannavale. He's better than this garbage!

Don't understand all the negative reviews. Into the 4th episode now, and it's held my attention from the beginning. A good psychological thriller loosely (loosely being the operative word here) based on a true event.

Once again, another promising Ryan Murphy project, falling into the same old trap of starting strong and ending in shreds. Frankly speaking, I think Murphy should seriously consider caring less about how charming a set looks and pay more attention to the storyline, assuring that it does make an iota of sense.

this series is definitely worth your time. Despite moving away from the original story, yes, it is a true crime, with each episode new extremely engaging and curious plots are added.
